This study describes two methods (Procedures‐1 and ‐2) for the direct extraction of Au by an inorganic acid mixture (HClO4‐HBr‐HI‐aqua regia) from complex sample matrices. Standard PTFE jars at 200 °C were used to decompose test portions of 0.5–1 g, with subsequent precise and accurate analysis by ICP‐MS without any other preconcentration or separation. Procedure‐1 decomposed samples effectively without the necessity of leaching with HF and was developed for dust samples from e‐waste (electronic waste) processing; however, testing on geological reference materials showed very good results. The analyses of replicate decompositions (n = 5) from both procedures yielded very good precision (< 5% RSD) for most of the reference materials. The accuracy achieved was better than ± 10%, with the exception of NIST SRM 2782 data from Procedure‐1. Two unknown samples of dust from e‐waste processing (P‐1 and VM‐1) exhibited elevated concentrations of Au (21.31–61.64 μg g?1) with precision better than 10% (n = 5). The proposed techniques are simple, sensitive and sparing in the use of chemicals, and are designed for a variety of e‐waste dust samples. In order to discuss the source of ore-forming materials of the Bingdongshan lead-zinc deposit, Rb-Sr isotopes of the main ore-stage sphalerites have been analyzed by using the full dissolution method and fluid inclusions leaching method in this paper, with yielded isochion ages of 507. 7-507. 8 Ma, initial 87Sr/86Sr values of 0. 709193-0. 709220.These isoch-ron ages, representing the age of the main mineralization stage of the deposit, indicate that the deposit was formed in Early Ordovician, or the mineralization occurred in the middle Caledonian. The characteristics of initial strontium isotopic ratios of sphaleritess how that the ore-forming materials or the ore-forming fluid were provided by both of basement rocks and the Sinian carbonates. Combining with geological characteristics of the deposit and regional Pb-Zn metallogenic geological background, it is believed that the Caledonian tectonic movement played important role for the formation of lead-zinc deposits in the northern margin of the Yangtze Block. The Bingdongshan lead-zinc deposit was probably formed under the Caledonian extensional environment, through the precipitation of sulfides, in certain physic-chemical condition, from the ore-forming hydrothermal fluids which were associated with dome structure activities. 相似文献

Oxygen and carbon isotopes from the planktonic foraminifer Globigerinoides sacculifer, trace element contents, calcium carbonate, biogenic silica, grain size, and abundances of diatoms, radiolarians and foraminifera in a deep‐sea core from the southwestern South China Sea were analysed to investigate the response of various marine ecological communities to environmental changes over the last 200 ka. The synthesised results show that the quality of the palaeoecological environment for biological growth is primarily affected by nutrient supply and terrigenous disturbance. Ba and P are important nutrient elements for the growth of diatoms, radiolarians and planktonic foraminifera. Together with dissolved silica and calcium carbonate in sea water, these elements may control microbiotic development. However, variations in Fe content appear to affect diatom and radiolarian abundance. Optimal biotic growth occurs when nutrients are abundant and when there is minimal terrigenous disturbance. Biotic growth decreases when sea water is highly oligotrophic and terrigenous input is high. Maximum biological growth occurred in the mid Holocene, but deteriorated soon afterwards owing to increased terrigenous input, causing a decrease of biological abundance and productivity in the late Holocene. The results also indicate how the Toba volcanic eruption ca. 74 ka ago contributed to changing the ecological environment in the southern South China Sea. Reference materials (RMs) to support geoanalysis have a long history, dating back to the issuance of G-1 and W-1 in 1951. This paper addresses only one aspect of the most recent part of that history, the experience of the International Association of Geoanalysts (IAG) as a certifying body. In 2002, the Certification Committee of the IAG met in Potsdam to discuss becoming a certifying body able to produce RMs for the geoanalytical community. Following that meeting, the IAG developed and published a protocol to assure that IAG RMs would meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines to the fullest extent possible. Many practical problems arise in the application of the recommendations of the ISO Guides to any one specific certification project. The recommendations describe the ideal; achievable reality is always somewhat less than that ideal, presenting a significant challenge to the IAG as a certifying body. This paper will summarise experience to date, while focusing on the most challenging issues, deriving uncertainties compliant with the Guide to Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and establishing traceability of certified values (CVs). 相似文献

用颗粒离散元法,分别对二维圆形、椭圆形颗粒体进行了双轴压缩数值模拟。微观尺度的变形是基于孔隙胞元和其中的变形来计算的,而单个孔隙胞元的变形通过周围颗粒的相对运动来计算。针对该方法提出了以接触价键(每个孔隙胞元的边数)来表征颗粒材料微观临界状态的理论。为了定义临界接触价键的极限值,分别讨论了摩擦系数较大、较小时的两种情况。文中给出了微观几何织构(包括接触价键、孔隙胞元的形状、孔隙比)随压缩变形的演变过程,比较了不同颗粒形状、颗粒间摩擦系数以及颗粒体的固结压力对颗粒体的微观力学性能的影响。计算结果表明,颗粒材料的微观临界状态并不是可以唯一表征的,而是受围压、摩擦系数,颗粒形状等参数的共同影响。 相似文献

Modern astronomical spectroscopy makes use of multi‐aperture slits placed in the focal plane of telescopes before light enters the spectrograph. Multiple object spectroscopy (MOS) allows several spectra to be obtained simultaneously with a multiplexing gain from the order of dozens of objects in 4m class telescopes to few hundreds in larger 8 m telescopes. Many of these devices make use of metal plates which are punched, milled or laser cut and can be used only for observation of a given astronomical target. A typical observing night requires from 4 to 20 MOS masks, which have to be prepared during an off‐line procedure, usually days before. Here we report an innovative technique to carry out multi object spectroscopy based on changes of properties of photochromic materials. Photochromic MOS masks consist of polymer thin films which can be made opaque or transparent in a restricted wavelength range using alternatively UV and visible light. Slit patterns can thus be easily written by means of a red diode laser on a UV preflashed plate. Writing time for a 10 × 10 arcmin plate is a few minutes and the whole procedure can be performed promptly after the acquisition of the field image and without mechanical debris as in milling or laser cutting. A computer controlled writing device suited for the AFOSC camera of the Asiago 1.8m telescope was built. The same focal plane mask can be UV erased and used more than 450 times. High contrasts have been reached by means of an appropriate passband filter in the light beam of the spectrograph. Our first successful observation run took place in January 2003. This paper studies the effects of initial fabric anisotropy of dry sand in simple shear deformation. The effects of anisotropy are taken into consideration through the modification of the mobilized friction in the Mohr–Coulomb‐type yield surface as a function of a fabric parameter. In addition, the constitutive model uses a gradient term that directly incorporates the effects of material length scale. The constitutive formulation is implemented into ABAQUS finite element code and used to simulate shearing of the dry sand under various conditions of simple shear. The numerical simulations show that while the shear stress response is affected by fabric anisotropy, its effects on strain localization in simple shear are minimal. This is in contrast to other devices such as the biaxial shear. The strain localization in simple shear is controlled more by the imposed boundary conditions. This paper proposes a yield and failure criterion for cohesive and frictional materials. The function is given by the combination of a Lode dependence for the behaviour in the deviatoric plane and a meridian function for the pressure‐dependent behaviour. A variety of shapes can be achieved with the proposed criterion including Lode dependences which are able to reproduce the behaviour of isotropic and cross‐anisotropic materials in the deviatoric plane. The criterion is validated through the comparison with experimental data based on multiaxial experimental tests on clays, sands, rocks and concrete. Double-scale numerical methods constitute an effective tool for simultaneously representing the complex nature of geomaterials and treating real-scale engineering problems such as a tunnel excavation or a pressuremetre at a reasonable numerical cost. This paper presents an approach coupling discrete elements (DEM) at the microscale with finite elements (FEM) at the macroscale. In this approach, a DEM-based numerical constitutive law is embedded into a standard FEM formulation. In this regard, an exhaustive discussion is presented on how a 2D/3D granular assembly can be used to generate, step by step along the overall computation process, a consistent Numerically Homogenised Law. The paper also focuses on some recent developments including a comprehensive discussion of the efficiency of Newton-like operators, the introduction of a regularisation technique at the macroscale by means of a second gradient framework, and the development of parallelisation techniques to alleviate the computational cost of the proposed approach. Some real-scale problems taking into account the material spatial variability are illustrated, proving the numerical efficiency of the proposed approach and the benefit of a particle-based strategy. 相似文献
