Selecting the correct resolution in distributed hydrological modelling at the watershed scale is essential in reducing scale-related errors. The work presented herein uses information content (entropy) to identify the resolution which captures the essential variability, at the watershed scale, of the infiltration parameters in the Green and Ampt infiltration equation. A soil map of the Little Washita watershed in south-west Oklahoma, USA was used to investigate the effects of grid cell resolution on the distributed modelling of infiltration. Soil-derived parameters and infiltration exhibit decreased entropy as resolutions become coarser. This is reflected in a decrease in the maximum entropy value for the reclassified/derived parameters vis a vis the original data. Moreover, the entropy curve, when plotted against resolution, shows two distinct segments: a constant section where no entropy was lost with decreasing resolution and another part which is characterized by a sharp decrease in entropy after a critical resolution of 1209 m is reached. This methodology offers a technique for assessing the largest cell size that captures the spatial variability of infiltration parameters for a particular basin. A geographical information system (GIS) based rainfall-runoff model is used to simulate storm hydrographs using infiltration parameter maps at different resolutions as inputs. Model results up to the critical resolution are reproducible and errors are small. However, at resolutions beyond the critical resolution the results are erratic with large errors. A major finding of this study is that a large resolution (1209 m for this basin) yields reproducible model results. When modelling a river basin using a distributed model, the resolution (grid cell size) can drastically affect the model results and calibration. The error structure attributable to grid cell resolution using entropy as a spatial variability measure is shown.  相似文献

Recent nonlinear dynamics techniques have been developed to analyse chaotic time series data. We first summarize the procedure which gives an appropriate reconstruction of the unknown dynamics from scalar measurements in a pseudophase space. It permits, firstly, the representation of the trajectories of the dynamical system—they define an attractor when the system is dissipative—by preserving its topological properties. We then present the invariant measures and ergodic quantities such as the multifractal spectrum and Lyapunov exponents which can be estimated on the reconstructed attractor. The multifractal analysis provides us with a characterization of the scaling energy of the process whereas the Lyapunov exponent gives another statistical measure of the stability of the dynamics. The estimation of these quantities was tested on synthetic data. The nonlinear and multifractal analyses were finally applied to the hourly mean values of the magnetic field recorded at the Eskdalemuir (ESK) observatory over 79 years (692,520 data measurements for each component). The estimations of a 5-dimensional pseudo-phase space and a positive Lyapunov exponent confirm the possibility of low-dimensional deterministic chaos in the magnetic field observations at ESK observatory. The correlation between the solar activity (the Wolf number), the unstable nature of the magnetic field, and the singularity spectrum points out the forcing of the solar cycles on the dynamics of the magnetic field at ESK observatory.  相似文献

采用苏20井记录到的1995年7月1日至1997年6月30日地下水位观测数据作为研究的原始资料,计算并研究了1996年11月9日南黄海 MS 6.1地震前后地下水位系统混沌吸引子的关联维数D2、二阶熵K2和最大Lyapunov指数λ1,并用推广GP法研究了地震前后系统多重分形的广义维数谱Dq。研究结果表明:地下水位系统为混沌系统,系统的自由度在3~16之间;地震过程中系统有降维减熵现象,震前广义维数谱Dq左半边曲线变陡,因而可被看作为强震前的前兆信息。此结果对今后在预报工作中认识地震前兆观测的非线性动力学特征和利用这些特征进行地震预报具有重要的实用意义。  相似文献

主体功能区定位决定区域的发展方向和重点,各类型区逐步实现公共服务均等化,民生质量发展表现出一定的区域差异。本文基于新疆主体功能区规划和民生发展实际状况构建民生质量评价指标体系,运用熵值法计算2005 年和2014 年各主体功能类型区的民生质量,并结合差异贡献率动态分析各类型区民生差异的影响因素。结果表明:(1)各类型区民生质量存在显著差异,重点开发区最优,重点生态功能区最低;尤其是收入与消费、文化与教育和生态与环境方面水平差距日益拉大。(2)各类型区民生质量发展侧重点各有不同,在文化与教育方面呈现水平共同下滑趋势。(3)各因素对于影响类型区民生质量差异的作用效果不同,收入、消费、交通设施、信息化、医疗卫生和生态平衡水平等成为拉大民生差距的主要因素。(4)收入消费水平和交通设施水平对拉大类型区民生质量差距的强度最为突出,生态平衡水平和信息化水平对拉大差距的程度逐渐加强,社会保障水平和教育水平对缩小差距的作用最强。基于上述分析,对缩小新疆主体功能区民生发展差距,保障基本公共服务均等化提出相应对策建议。  相似文献

This study aims to reveal the multi-scaling behavior and quantify the irregularity of near-fault earthquake ground motions from a new perspective of multifractal theory. Based on multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis, the multifractal characteristic parameters of acceleration time series for typical near-fault ground motions are calculated, and their correlations with two period parameters (i.e., mean period Tm and characteristic period Tc) and box-counting fractal dimensions are analyzed. Numerical results of strong nonlinear dependence of generalized Hurst exponents h(q) upon the fluctuation orders q indicate that near-fault ground motions present the multifractal properties and long-range correlation obviously. Furthermore, the scaling exponent h(2) of near-fault records has a strong correlation with their periods Tm and Tc, and strongly negative correlation with their box dimension. Moreover, h(2) can be regarded as a measure of frequency content and irregularity degree of strong earthquake ground motions. Finally, it is pointed out that the long-range correlation of small and large fluctuation is the major source of multifractality of near-fault ground motions.  相似文献

This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system for the urbanization level in China in terms of four aspects of urbanization connotation: population, economy, society, and land. A comprehensive measurement is carried out for the Chinese urbanization between 1981 and 2006 based on the Entropy method. The results show that the comprehensive level of urbanization in China has a continuous increase with the major features of economic growth and a rapid evolution of the geographical landscape, followed by population urbanization and then social urbanization of health care standard; the distinguished evolutional characteristics can also be found in each of the subsystems. The integrated evolution of urbanization has a profound effect on the resources, energy and the environment, making the land resources and energy security situation under severe pressure. 信息熵和分形理论为研究地理学中系统的有序性和复杂结构现象的不稳定性提供了一条新途径,为研究土地利用景观格局变化提供了新的思路。以信息熵和分形理论为指导,在遥感和GIS技术支持下,对西安市土地利用景观格局演变的分形特征和信息熵进行分析,结果表明:1999-2008年,西安市土地利用景观结构趋于简单化,景观类型在空间上的稳定性逐渐增大;土地利用景观结构信息熵总体上呈逐渐下降趋势,即土地利用有序度逐渐上升,而无序度逐渐降低。  相似文献

The aim of this study is to identify geochemical anomalies using power spectrum–area (S–A) method based on the grade values of Cu, Mo and Au in 2709 soil samples collected from Kahang porphyry-type Cu deposit, Central Iran. S–A log–log plots indicated that there are three stages of Cu, Mo and Au enrichment. The third enrichment was considered as the main stage for the presence of Cu, Mo and Au at the concentrations above 416 ppm, 23 ppm and 71 ppb, respectively. Elemental anomalies are positively associated with monzo–granite–diorite and breccias units which are in the central and western parts of the deposit. The anomalies are located within the potassic, phyllic and argillic alteration types and also there is the positive correlation between the anomalies and nearing faults in the studied area. The results obtained via fractal model were interpreted accordingly to incorporate the information for the mineralized areas including detailed geological map, structural analysis and alterations. The results show that S–A multifractal modeling is applicable for anomalies delineation based on soil data.  相似文献
