Partial drainage often occurs during piezocone penetration testing on Yellow River Delta silt because of its intermediate physical and mechanical properties between those of sand and clay.Yet,there is no accurate understanding for the range of penetra-tion rates to trigger the partial drainage of silt soils.In order to fully investigate cone penetration rate effects under partial drainage condi-tions,indoor 1 g penetration model tests and numerical simulations of cavity expansion at variable penetration rates were carried out on the Yellow River Delta silt.The boundary effect of the model tests and the variation of key parameters at the different cavity ex-pansion rates were analyzed.The 1 g penetration model test results and numerical simulations results consistently indicated that the penetration rate to trigger the partially drainage of typical silt varied at least three orders of magnitude.The numerical simulations also provide the reference values for the penetration resistance corresponding to zero dilation and zero viscosity at any given normalized penetration rate for silt in Yellow River Delta.These geotechnical properties can be used for the design of offshore platforms in Yel-low River Delta,and the understanding of cone penetration rate effects under the partially drained conditions would provide some technical support for geohazard evaluation of offshore platforms. 相似文献

千伏级锥束CT在放射治疗、外科手术、口腔疾病诊断等领域都有广泛的应用。然而,频繁地使用千伏级锥束CT,也会给患者甚至医生带来额外的射线辐射损伤。相关统计结果表明,X射线辐射能够诱发癌症,特别是儿童和女性对射线辐射异常敏感。因此,合理使用锥束CT,同时降低锥束CT辐射剂量,对于降低射线辐射并发症风险显得非常重要。本文总结了降低锥束CT辐射剂量的常用措施,包括降低管电流、局部扫描、脉冲扫描、短扫描以及少投影扫描。辐射剂量的降低有可能会在重建图像中引入噪声、伪影。针对特定的问题,本文也提出了对应的补偿方法。 相似文献

The conventional liquefaction potential assessment methods (also known as simplified methods) profoundly rely on empirical correlations based on observations from case histories. A probabilistic framework is developed to incorporate uncertainties in the earthquake ground motion prediction, the cyclic resistance prediction, and the cyclic demand prediction. The results of a probabilistic seismic hazard assessment, site response analyses, and liquefaction potential analyses are convolved to derive a relationship for the annual probability and return period of liquefaction. The area occupied by the former Texcoco Lake was part of a system of lakes inside the Basin of Mexico. The subsoil there has been studied in the past but there is still a need for more and more thorough investigations into the dynamic properties of its highly compressible clays. This paper describes the results of an experimental laboratory research in which a triaxial cell fitted with bender elements was used to measure shear wave velocities (Vs) in clay specimens from the former Texcoco Lake. Soil specimens were subjected to isotropic loading–unloading cycles and values of Vs were determined during the saturation stage and after each stress increment or decrement. Our results show that irrespective of the testing method, shear waves velocities differ in no more than 7–15%. 相似文献

江苏省连云港赣榆港区陆域采用航道和港池的疏浚土方吹填形成作业港区,吹填工艺以绞吸式疏浚为主,疏浚涉及土层为粘土和砂土,由此形成了粘土和砂土的混合土地基。为了提高地基承载力和均匀性,采用了强夯法对地基进行加固,但是目前对夹砂粘土地基强夯加固的理论和实践较少。为此,以砂夹粘土构成的混合土地基为对象,测试了多种能量单点夯击时的地基土夯沉量、孔压和夯坑周围土体强度等参数,探讨了强夯法加固该类地基的加固深度和水平影响范围。结果表明:对于该类地基而言,有效加固深度修正系数取0.35~0.5为宜;强夯过程中,孔压与强度的增长范围不对应,即孔压影响范围远大于强度影响范围。 相似文献

In horizontally layered soils of different electrical properties, electrical potential distribution becomes complex and the
obtained resistivity data may be limited in reflecting the actual soil profile. Thus the objective of this study was to identify
the factors that affect resistivity measurement on the cone penetrometer and further investigate the sensitivity of measured
resistivity to different types and concentrations of contaminants at the subsurface level. First, a theoretical resistivity
equation was derived to provide a means of computing the geometric factor. The effective volume of measurement on the cone
penetrometer was investigated and laboratory soil box tests verified the dominance of partially high resistivity regions within
the effective volume of measurement over the apparent resistivity. Such effect was found to lead to possible discrepancies
between the recorded resistivity data and the actual depth of measurement. Measurements on contaminated soil layers indicated
that resistivity cones are efffective in delineating inorganic contaminants in soils of high water contents, and detecting
NAPLs floating above the groundwater table provided that soils adjacent to the plume are not dry of water.

For South Korea, liquefaction potential along the western coast has not been widely assessed because South Korea is considered to be a low seismic hazard. However, recent earthquake events and historical records indicate that the seismic hazard of South Korea should not be ignored. Moreover, as artificial fills are extensively used along the western coast for development, liquefaction evaluation of the soils in this area is necessary. In this paper, we present: (1) the seismic characteristics of the study area; (2) procedures for evaluating liquefaction potential, focusing on the liquefaction potential index (LPI) approach; and (3) LPI distributions at several representative locations along the western coast of South Korea under various seismic scenarios. The liquefaction potential index represents the liquefaction potential over the upper 20 m of a boring or sounding. Using cone penetration test (CPT) and standard penetration test (SPT) data from two coastal sites, we compare and discuss CPT-based and SPT-based LPI values, particularly values computed in nonplastic, silt-rich soils. In these soils, it appears that the CPT yields lower liquefaction resistance, resulting in large LPI values. Finally, discussion and suggestions are provided for CPT- and SPT-based liquefaction assessment of low plasticity and high fines content soils. 相似文献
