A magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred near Pacoima Dam on 13 January 2001. An accelerometer array that had been upgraded after the Northridge earthquake recorded the motion with 17 channels on the dam and the dam–foundation interface. Using this data, properties of the first two modes are found from a system identification study. Modal properties are also determined from a forced vibration experiment performed in 2002 and indicate a significantly stiffer system than is estimated from the 2001 earthquake records. The 2001 earthquake, although small, must have induced temporary nonlinearity. This has implications for structural health monitoring. The source of the nonlinear behaviour is believed to be loss of stiffness in the foundation rock. A finite element model of Pacoima Dam is constructed and calibrated to match modal properties determined from the system identification study. A dynamic simulation of the 2001 earthquake response produces computed motions that agree fairly well with the recorded ones. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

离岸深水全直桩码头结构长期承受波浪力、撞击力等动荷载作用,仅从静力角度分析不能满足工程设计要求。为研究离岸深水全直桩码头结构动力简化计算方法,利用ABAQUS软件建立了全直桩码头的嵌固点模型和结构-地基相互作用的三维弹塑性有限元模型。基于所建立的有限元模型,采用模态分析法研究了上述码头结构的自振特性。分析表明,结构基本周期较长,与波浪力、撞击力荷载周期接近,结构动力响应突出。进一步计算发现,全直桩码头结构在波浪力、撞击力荷载作用下的动力响应有限元计算结果与采用单自由度系统位移动力放大系数理论公式计算结果吻合较好,由此提出全直桩码头结构动力响应可按单自由度系统位移动力放大系数理论公式进行简化计算。在此基础上,结合规范中的m法、p-y曲线法、NL法提出了上述码头结构动力简化计算方法,通过与动力有限元计算结果对比,验证了所建立简化计算方法的正确性。 相似文献

This article has two purposes. Firstly, a validation exercise of the modal summation technique for the computation of synthetic
strong-motion records is performed for two regions of Europe (Umbria-Marche and south Iceland), using a variety of region
specific crustal structure models, by comparing the predicted ground motion amplitudes with observed motions. It is found
that the rate of decay of ground motions is well predicted by the theoretical decay curves but that the absolute size of the
ground motions is underpredicted by the synthetic time-histories. This is thought to be due to the presence of low-velocity
surface layers that amplify the ground motions but are not included in the crustal structure models used to compute the synthetic
time-histories.
Secondly, a new distance metric based on the computed theoretical decay curves is introduced which should have the ability
to model the complex decay of strong ground motions. The ability of this new distance metric to reduce the associated scatter
in empirically derived equations for the estimation of strong ground motions is tested. It is found that it does not lead
to a reduction in the scatter but this is thought to be due to the use of crustal structure models that are not accurate or
detailed enough for the regions studied.

分布于华北地台南缘,霍邱-固始交界安阳山地区的八公山群,由一套碎屑岩和碳酸盐岩组成。最近,人们在碳酸盐岩中发现、珊瑚等化石,确定灰岩时代为晚石炭世。但是,碎屑岩的地质时代仍然没有定论。碎屑岩由粉砂质泥岩、石英砂岩、粉砂岩等组成,厚度大于780 m。石英砂岩为中-厚层状,中细粒结构,成分成熟度和结构成熟度高,石英含量高达95%以上,属于滨海-陆棚沉积。应用LA-ICP-MS对石英砂岩中碎屑锆石U-Pb年代学研究表明,样品HQ2106和HQ2204最年轻的碎屑锆石U-Pb年龄分别为860±22.2 Ma(YSG),877±22.6 Ma(YSG),前者代表了地层的最大沉积年龄,它们也得到锆石年龄加权平均值(YC1σ和YC2σ)的支持。因此,研究区八公山群碎屑岩地层时代属于青白口纪(拉伸纪)。该研究结果将为华北地台南缘前寒武纪地层划分对比以及构造演化历史重塑提供重要依据。 相似文献

新疆东准地区晚古生代地层出露广泛,其沉积时限的精确限定对理解中亚造山带的增生和拼贴过程、确立该地区构造框架及油气开发具有深远意义。然而,目前的研究主要集中于岩浆岩方面,对于晚古生代地层时代及其空间展布的研究则相对缺乏,特别是石炭系和泥盆系沉积地层标定较为模糊。为此,本文选取了3个原泥盆系砂岩进行了细致的野外剖面测制、岩石学观测和碎屑锆石U-Pb年代学分析。研究显示:原泥盆纪砂岩的最年轻碎屑锆石年龄为346~312 Ma,碎屑锆石年龄谱图分为:380~310 Ma(晚泥盆世-早石炭世,71.8%)、445~385 Ma(志留纪-早-中泥盆世,11.7%)、480~450 Ma(奥陶纪,3.9%)、540~485 Ma(寒武纪,4.5%)和前寒武纪年龄段(8.1%),碎屑锆石年龄谱图区域上具有由南向北、由西向东呈简单化趋势且晚古生代年龄比重增加。结合该区岩浆岩年代学研究成果,将研究区原泥盆系沉积时代重新厘定到晚石炭系早-中期,认为东准地区的碰撞拼贴时间应发生于晚石炭世,并非是不同期次碰撞拼贴之产物。 相似文献

Traditional modal parameter identifi cation methods have many disadvantages,especially when used for processing nonlinear and non-stationary signals.In addition,they are usually not able to accurately identify the damping ratio and damage.In this study,methods based on the Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT) are investigated for structural modal parameter identifi cation and damage diagnosis.First,mirror extension and prediction via a radial basis function(RBF) neural network are used to restrain the troublesome end-effect issue in empirical mode decomposition(EMD),which is a crucial part of HHT.Then,the approaches based on HHT combined with other techniques,such as the random decrement technique(RDT),natural excitation technique(NExT) and stochastic subspace identifi cation(SSI),are proposed to identify modal parameters of structures.Furthermore,a damage diagnosis method based on the HHT is also proposed.Time-varying instantaneous frequency and instantaneous energy are used to identify the damage evolution of the structure.The relative amplitude of the Hilbert marginal spectrum is used to identify the damage location of the structure.Finally,acceleration records at gauge points from shaking table testing of a 12-story reinforced concrete frame model are taken to validate the proposed approaches.The results show that the proposed approaches based on HHT for modal parameter identifi cation and damage diagnosis are reliable and practical. 相似文献

Hilbert—Huang变换是一种新的数据处理方法,由经验模分解(Empirical Mode Decomposition)技术及Hilbert变换两部分组成。本文研究此方法对于密频结构阻尼识别的应用。首先对于两自由度系统模型,说明该方法用于阻尼识别的步骤。进而研究存在频率密集现象的高层建筑的阻尼识别问题。上述结果与理论值及由半功率带宽法的识别值进行了比较,对比显示Hilbert.Huang方法较传统方法具有良好的识别密频结构阻尼的性能,适用于大型结构的系统识别。 相似文献
