The formation of volcanic–sedimentary interaction features in extreme arid environments is not a commonly described process. Specifically the occurrence of dynamically mixed sediments and juvenile igneous clasts as peperites, for water has been considered one major important factor in the processes of magma dismantling and mingling with unconsolidated sediment to form such deposits. The study area, located in south Brazil, shows a sequence of lava flows and intertrapic sandstone layers from the Paraná Basin, associated with the formation of clastic dykes, flow striations, peperite and ‘peperite-like’ breccias. Four processes are suggested for the genesis of the peperites: (a) fragmentation of the flow front and base; (b) sand injection; (c) dune collapse; (d) magma cascade downhill. The continued flow of a lava, while its outer crust is already cooling, causes it to break, especially in the front and base, fragments falling in the sand and getting mixed with it, generating the flow front ‘peperite-like’ breccia. The weight of the lava flow associated to shear stress at the base cause sand to be injected inwards the flow, forming injection clastic dykes in the cooled parts and injection peperite in the more plastic portions. The lava flow may partially erode the dune, causing the dune to collapse and forming the collapse ‘peperite-like’ breccia. The shear stress at the base of a flowing lava striates the unconsolidated sand, forming the flow striations. The sand that migrates over a cooled, jointed lava flow may get caught in the cavities and joints, forming the filling clastic dykes. These deposits are analogous to those found in the Etendeka, NW Namibia, and show that sediment–lava interactions in arid settings are widespread throughout the Paraná-Etendeka province during the onset of flood volcanism. 相似文献

基于饱和土动力固结理论,采用SWANDYNE II有限元分析,程序预测一个梯形沉箱防沙堤在某设计波浪作用下的响应。采用Pastor-Zienkiwicz Mark III广义塑性模型模拟了海床土的循环应力-应变行为。通过动三轴试验,确定了主要的模型参数,分析中只考虑了波浪对结构的作用,忽略行波对海床表面的作用。动力固结有限元分析的结果定性上与常规的拟静力极限平衡分析方法一致,有限元分析定量给出了体系的位移、应力、孔隙水压力分布和结构位移随波浪持续时间的累积过程,其研究结果初步展现了动力固结有限元方法在近海和海岸岩土工程领域的广阔应用前景。 相似文献

Fenitized Wall Rock Geochemistry of the First Carbonatite Dyke at Bayan Obo,Inner Mongolia,China 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The first carbonatite dyke at Bayan Obo is well exposed on the surface for a length and width of approximately 60 m and 1.1–1.5 m, respectively. Along its strike, the fenitized H1(Qs) and H2(Cs) quartzite is replaced by Na-amphiboles, aegirines, and alkali-feldspars, intermittently stretching as far away as 800 m in length. Based on petrographical characteristics, the dyke's fenitized wall rocks are divisible into different zones:(1) outer,(2) middle, and(3) inner. The outer zone is 5–17 m from the NW margin of the dyke. The middle zone is located at 3.5–5 m from the NW margin of the dyke. The inner contact zone is located between direct contact with the dyke and 3.5 m from the dyke. In the outer zone, upon visual examination, no evidence of outcrop fenitization was found and the major elemental rock composition is nearly identical to the unaltered H1 and H2 lithologies. In the thin sections, however, small amounts of Na-amphibole and phlogopite are present. Despite relatively poor development throughout the 5 m of fenitization, the wall rocks have retained at least a small geochemical signature comparable to the original sedimentary protolith. The fenites occurring in the inner zone exhibit distinct variations, not only for the sharp contact at the outcrop scale, but also for variations in major, rare earth elements(REE), and trace elements and Sm-Nd isotope composition. The wall rocks within 3.5 m have undergone strong fenitization, inheriting the geochemical signature derived from the carbonatite dyke. Fenitization in the middle zone was not as strong, at least compared to the inner zone, but was stronger than the outer zone. Compared to some trace elements and REEs, the major elements are relatively immobile during fenitization. The Sm-Nd isotope data for the carbonatite dyke and the adjacent fenitized wall rocks, where the Sm and Nd originate solely from the dyke, plots as a six-point isochron with an age of 1308±56 Ma. This age is identical to that of ore-bearing dolomite carbonatite and the related ore-forming events, indicating that there may be a petrogenetic link between the two. Based on Sr and Nd isotope compositional data, the first carbonatite dyke may be derived from an enriched mantle. 相似文献

The newly discovered Laomiaogou porphyry-skarn Mo deposit is located south of the Machaoying fault in western Henan province. The ore-body is hosted in the contact between the Laomiaogou granite porphyry dyke and the Duguan Formation. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb analyses for zircons from the granite porphyry yield a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 152.1±0.6 Ma, and seven molybdenite separates yield a weighted mean age of 151.9±0.9 Ma and isochron age of 151.6±5.1 Ma. Thus, the granite porphyry dyke and Mo mineralization are contemporaneous. The ore-related granite porphyry dyke is a peraluminous I-type granite with high contents of SiO2 and K2O. The rocks are strongly depleted in P, Nb, Ta and Ti, indicative of intensive fractionation of apatite and Fe-Ti oxides, and characterized by low whole-rock εNd(t) (-20.6 to -17.6) and zircon εHf(t) values (-26.9 to -22.6). The old tDM2(Nd) ages (2.37 to 2.61 Ga) and zircon tDM2(Hf) ages (2.62 to 2.88 Ga) suggest that the granite porphyry was likely derived from an ancient crustal source. Considering the tectonic evolution and geochemical characteristics of the granite as well as other Mesozoic granites in the southern margin of the North China Craton, we suggest that the Laomiaogou granite porphyry dyke and Mo were most likely derived from partial melting of the Taihua Group metamorphic rocks under extensional tectonic regime related to the subduction of the paleo-pacific plate. © 2018, Science Press. 本文对江西赣南横市地区基性岩墙进行了年代学、岩石学和地球化学研究,主量元素特征和微量元素分析结果显示,基性岩墙为拉斑玄武岩系列和钙碱性系列,属于富钠基性岩类;Ti O2含量较高,平均含量1%,属于钛较高的基性岩类;A/NCK均小于1,属于准铝质基性岩类,具幔源型岩浆特征。基性岩墙LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb定年法测年结果为422.8±1.8 Ma和421.7±2.2 Ma,时代属于晚志留世,表明该基性岩墙是加里东期褶皱造山运动期后拉张(伸展)作用的产物。该地区不仅出露了加里东期同造山期和后造山期两类酸性花岗岩岩体,而且在该地区还同时出现加里东期的酸性岩类及基性岩类,大致反映了该地区从挤压型酸性岩浆侵位逐渐转换为拉张环境的基性岩浆侵位构造过程。 相似文献

Changes in the water properties and biological characteristics of the highly acidic Hromnice Lake (Western Bohemia) were investigated. This 110-year-old lake, formed as a consequence of the mining of pyritic shales, is permanently meromictic. Two chemoclines separate an extremely acidic (pH ~ 2.6) mixolimnion from a metal-rich anoxic monimolimnion. The absence of spring mixolimnetic turnover due to ice melting and very slow heat propagation through the chemocline with a 6-month delay were observed. Extreme mixolimnetic oxygen maxima (up to 31 mg l?1) in phosphorus-rich lake (PO43? up to 1.6 mg l?1) well correlated with outbursts of phytoplankton. Phytoplankton consist of several acido-tolerant species of the genera Coccomyxa, Lepocinclis, Chlamydomonas and Chromulina. Surface phytoplankton biomass expressed as chlorophyll-a varies from 2 to 140 μg l?1. Multicellular zooplankton are almost absent with the exception of Cephalodella acidophila, a small rotifer occurring in low numbers. Large red larvae of the midge Chironomus gr. plumosus were found at the bottom close to the shore, with larvulae in the open water. Developmental stages (protonemata) of a moss, resembling filamentous algae, dwell in the otherwise plant-free littoral zone. 相似文献
