Sharing academic space

This paper is a personal reflection on my participation in the panel “The Spaces of Critical Geography” at the ICGC in 2002, where my position as an European Americanist working in Asia was helpful in disrupting any tendency towards conflation of location, nationality, identity, and academic practice. These reflections focus on three topics: my interactions with various hegemonies and hierarchies; my relationship with the English language; and the contribution I believe critical geography can make to contemporary academic practice across the disciplines.     

基于分层体系结构的数字出版原图数据库管理系统

数字出版原图是一类重要资源。针对如何设计数据库系统来科学有效地管理数字出版原图问题,在分析数字出版原图数据库与地图数据库特征差异的基础上,提出了基于分层体系结构实现数字出版原图数据库管理系统的技术途径。基于该体系结构实现的系统具有在不同数据库管理系统(DBMS)间移植方便、功能快捷、维修性好等优点。     

基于Web的地质灾害预警信息发布与反馈系统研究

对河南省地质灾害预警预报系统,县（市）地质灾害调查与区划成果资料进行分析研究,以商城县地质灾害预警为例,将预警网格作为关联字段,对地质灾害预警结果库、地质灾害基础数据库进行关联处理,建立带有空间预警网格及地质灾害基础信息的地质灾害数据库,按照省国土资源厅统一制定的地质灾害上报表格,以河南省地质环境信息网为系统平台,采用asp动态网页设计语言,设计预警结果区地质灾害信息查询以及地质灾害反馈等页面,从而建立基于Web的地质灾害预警信息发布与反馈系统。     

网络专题地图服务平台的设计与实现

空间信息共享和互操作是GIS发展永恒的主题,本文主要研究了网络专题地图服务平台的设计与实践,从数据目录管理、多源数据节点的远程访问与调度、专题地图的按需动态生成与发布等关键技术着手,研究实现了面向用户的空间信息与行业统计信息的集成共享与可视化。利用ASP．NET创建了网络专题地图服务门户,验证了所提出的框架体系和关键技术的合理性和可行性。     

空间数据对象的动态WMS发布技术研究

OGC组织的WMS规范提供了一种空间数据发布的通用方法,但是它依赖于特定空间数据发布格式,需要对于数据包含的地学信息进行复杂的预先整理,这和目前广泛使用的地学数据存档和交换数据格式之间存在较大的差距。文章提出了一种常用空间数据向WMS发布格式的自动化动态映射模型,构建了基于MapServer和0per-Layers的空间数据对象的动态WMS发布技术原型,实现了包含遥感数据、GIS数据、行业数据等常规空间数据在WMS环境下的自动化动态发布和显示,并进行了相关的实验验证工作。     

49种大气科学类期刊创刊及更名情况分析

收集、整理49种大气科学类期刊的创刊、中外文刊名变更、刊期变更、期刊网站等情况,并分析了存在的问题。结果表明:1)49种期刊中,《气象学报》创刊最早,《气象科技进展》创刊最晚,创刊、复刊的高峰期是20世纪70、80年代。2)25种期刊变更过刊名,其中18种期刊在2000年之后更名;著录参考文献时,应注意正确著录更名期刊的中外文刊名。3)25种期刊更改过刊期,其中20种期刊由季刊变更为双月刊。4)38种期刊建有自主网站,但尚需加强网站维护。     

The shifting geopolitics of higher education: Inter/nationalizing elite universities in Kazakhstan,Saudi Arabia,and beyond

This article examines recent higher education projects in two resource-rich, developmental states: Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. These projects are indicative of broader trend across Asia to move beyond previous national universities, toward a state-initiated model of the globally competitive university, which is designed to become an regional hub for elite education. Drawing on a range of qualitative methods, I consider the geopolitical context in which these projects have been conditioned and materialized, with a focus on how they are legitimated by policy-makers in the two case countries. By reframing discussions about the globalization of higher education in terms of a geopolitics of higher education, I argue that the cases of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia are not exceptions set outside of the hegemonic liberal system, but that they are ‘mirrors’ of recent internationalization agendas undertaken by elite Western universities. Through considering localized discourses of promoting knowledge-based economies, I consider how elites simultaneously work with and reconfigure globally-hegemonic discourses, and specifically how these elite university projects are part of broader authoritarian political configurations in Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

“数字辐射沙脊群”资源与环境信息管理平台设计与关键技术

针对江苏中部岸外辐射沙脊群海洋资源与环境数据的综合管理和信息辅助决策需求,基于Client/Server(C/S)和Browser/Server(B/S)混合架构完成了"数字辐射沙脊群"资源与环境信息管理平台的研制。平台采用组件式模块化方法开发,实现了基本的海洋信息管理、查询、分析与共享发布功能以及面向海洋深层次应用的数据挖掘、专题图自动生成、数据产品制作、海洋二维动力场可视化及浅海三维地形可视化模拟功能,为辐射沙脊群资源的合理开发利用提供了技术支撑。论文详细介绍了平台的设计思路,并对建设过程中采用的关键技术进行了深入探讨,目的为实现我国"数字海洋"的一体化建设提供参考。
