The origin of an apparently syndeformational chemical remanent magnetization (CRM) and geochemical alteration in a fault zone in the Bristol Channel Basin, southwest England, was investigated. Deformation in the fault zone occurs in Jurassic aged, organic-rich limestones and consists of numerous normal and oblique-slip faults and associated folds. Migration of basinal, radiogenic fluids is indicated by elevated 87Sr/86Sr values for calcite veins that occur throughout the fault zone. Some of the calcite veins contain hydrocarbons sourced from deeper strata. Elevated 87Sr/86Sr values in the host Jurassic limestones indicate that they were also extensively altered by radiogenic fluids that migrated through microfractures in addition to major fault and fracture planes. Folded and tilted host limestones contain a pervasive secondary CRM residing in magnetite that was acquired during deformation in the Tertiary. The association between this pervasive CRM and the pervasive geochemical alteration is consistent with a genetic connection between the orogenic fluids and the CRM although the timing of CRM acquisition (Tertiary) is not consistent with structural interpretations for the timing of most veining. An alternative remagnetization mechanism which is not triggered by externally derived fluids, such as diagenesis of hydrocarbons, might account for the CRM. Hydrocarbon-bearing veins also contain a CRM that resides in magnetite, although the time for remanence acquisition is not well constrained by field tests. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper discusses new structural, kinematic and geochronological data from polymetallic (Pb-Zn-Cu-Ag ± Au) vein-type deposits hosted in the metamorphic basement of the southern Sierras de Córdoba. A Carboniferous age was established for the hydrothermal event between ∼329 and 315 Ma (Late Mississippian-Early Pennsylvanian) by the K/Ar fine-fraction dating method of sericitic alteration related to metallic ore deposition in the Las Guindas and Oro districts. The obtained ages postdate the spatially associated Devonian magmatism and overlap the A-type Early Carboniferous magmatism defined for the Eastern Sierras Pampeanas. The presence of non-exhumed granitic bodies at shallow depths, possibly related to mineralization, is supported by available geophysical and field evidence.The strain fabric and 3-D kinematic analyses constitute first kinematic data for the Carboniferous basement of the Southern Sierras Pampeanas demonstrating that mineralization was controlled by NNW- and ENE-trending brittle-ductile transtensional shear zones that overprint the earlier high-strain deformation fabrics of the basement. Transtensional deformation has accommodated large amounts of strike-slip movements and subordinated extensional components. The calculated kinematic axes indicate a coherent kinematic pattern of the mineralized systems in the two studied districts, with a maximum extension direction oriented NNE- to NE and maximum shortening direction oriented WNW- to NW. This deformation regime, active during mineralization, point to a non-compressive setting at the Late Mississippian-Early Pennsylvanian boundary. In line with other regional evidence, we propose a distinctive Carboniferous deformational phase in the Eastern Sierras Pampeanas, dominated by transtension. This period would have occurred after the transition with the Devonian compressional/transpressional orogenic regime.  相似文献

采用动力有限元数值模拟的方法,设置四种不同仰坡坡度的模型,沿隧道轴向方向输入地震波,探究隧道洞口段及仰坡在不同仰坡坡度影响下的动力响应,并通过对无隧道通过的纯边坡模型与相同条件下有隧道通过的边坡模型的动力响应进行对比分析,研究隧道的存在对坡面动力响应的影响。研究结果表明:(1)由于临空面的存在,隧道洞口段的位移与加速度具有明显的放大效应。不同坡度模型的位移峰值皆位于y=0m断面的拱顶处,在距洞口y=40m后的各控制点位移差值迅速减小。(2)随着仰坡坡度的增加,同一断面处隧道的位移值随之增加,洞口段的截面变形也随之增大。(3)当坡度α≥60°时,坡面位移随着坡面高程的增加而增大;当坡度α60°时,坡面位移随着坡面高程的增加先增大后减小,在0.4~0.6倍坡高处达到最大,即随着坡度的增加,坡面的位移峰值也就越靠近坡顶。(4)隧道的存在对于坡面的稳定性有重要影响,这种影响在洞口附近尤为明显。  相似文献

盾构法隧道在进行盾构机的始发或到达作业时,当既有端头井洞口挡土墙结构凿除后,保证该位置土体在盾构机刀盘贯入或脱离地层前一段时间内的稳定就成了盾构机始发或到达施工的关键。结合工程实例,从高压注浆原理、注浆参数和施工工艺等方面阐述了二重管旋喷桩在盾构法隧道端头井洞口土体加固工程中的应用。再者,针对旋喷桩加固以及与其相关的盾构始发或到达施工技术方面的一些问题也提出了一些建议和看法。  相似文献

Scanning electron microscopy revealed micron-sized globular and coccoid objects, associated with filaments and mucus-like patches in antitaxial fibrous calcite veins from Oppaminda Creek, Northern Flinders Ranges, South Australia. Chemically the objects only differ from their calcite (CaCO3) matrix by a higher sulphur content. The ∼585 Ma veins formed at about 3–6 km below the surface. Fluid inclusions indicate a temperature of formation of about 60–80°C, and not exceeding 100°C. A non-biogenic origin of the objects is discussed, but considered unlikely. Instead, morphology, chemistry and size distribution all indicate that the objects are fossilised microbes that lived in the veins at the time and depth of vein formation.  相似文献

[摘 要] 岩脉的侵位机制对理解岩脉和矿脉的侵位过程有着重要的意义。本文详细介绍了岩脉 的侵位机制,并以大井锡多金属矿床为例初步探讨了矿区内岩脉与矿脉的关系。研究表明,区域上主要 受NW-SE 向的挤压应力,在海西期向燕山期转变阶段,区域应力场并没有发生变化,只是林西断块发 生了顺时针转动的结果。矿区范围内,同样受NW-SE 向挤压应力作用,块体也发生了相应的变化,推测 矿区西南向北东方向挤压应力逐渐减小,隆升剥蚀量也随之减小。整体上,岩脉侵位于先存裂隙,矿脉 侵位于岩脉形成的构造空间,局部具有互相穿插的现象。通过岩脉和矿脉的侵位过程,认为矿区西部寻 找斑岩型矿床潜力较大。  相似文献

In western Vanoise (French Alps), karstic pockets of Triassic‐to‐Jurassic metabauxites embedded in carbonate rocks and containing several generations of metamorphic veins were studied. During blueschist facies metamorphism, a cumulative amount of ~13 vol% of water is inferred to have been produced locally by successive dehydration reactions, and part of this fluid remained in the bauxitic lenses during most of the metamorphic cycle. Field and geochemical evidence show that these rocks have been isolated from large‐scale fluid flow (closed‐system behaviour). It is proposed that the internally derived fluid has promoted the opening of fluid‐filled open spaces (as attested by the euhedral habits of vein minerals) and served as medium for mass transfer from rock to vein. Indeed, the vein infill is obviously the result of chemical interactions, at the millimetre‐to‐centimetre scale, between the rock minerals and the locally produced aqueous fluid. Two vein types can be distinguished based on mineralogical and textural features: (i) some veins are filled with newly formed products of either prograde (chloritoid) or retrograde (chlorite) metamorphic reactions; in this case, fluid‐filled open spaces seem to offer energetically favourable nucleation/growth sites; (ii) the second vein type is infilled with cookeite or pyrophyllite, that were present in the host rock prior to the vein formation. In this closed chemical system, the components for the vein infill minerals have been transferred from rock to vein through the fluid, in a dissolution–transport–precipitation process, possibly stress‐assisted. These different vein generations all contain Al‐rich mineral infills, suggesting that Al was a mobile element (cm scale) during metamorphism. In these HP rocks, fluid flow may have been restricted, and if so mass transfer occurred by diffusion in an almost stagnant fluid. Metamorphic veins can be seen as witnesses of fluid and mass redistribution that partly accommodate the rock deformation (lateral segregation).  相似文献

A biogeochemical orientation survey was carried out in the vicinity of an epithermal Au deposit in the Moisan Au–Ag mineralized area, Haenam district in Korea. The Au–Ag bearing quartz veins of the mine occur as narrow open-space fillings within Cretaceous silicic pyroclastics. The vein minerals consist mainly of quartz, sericite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and galena, with some electrum and argentite. The main objectives of this study were to study the geochemical characteristics of rocks, soils and plants in this area, to investigate the spatial relationship between Au and associated elements in rock–soil–plant system, and to evaluate the applicability of biogeochemical prospecting for Au vein occurrences in Korea. Samples of rocks and soils, and leaves of three plant species (Japanese red pine — P. densiflora, oriental white oak — Q. aliena, Japanese mallotus — M. japonicus) were collected from the target mineralized area and control barren locations, and analyzed for trace elements by instrumental neutron activation analysis. Sampling lines were composed of one slope line which is almost parallel to the mineralized quartz-veins, and four transect lines spaced 100 m apart across the veins at 20 m sampling intervals. From the multi-element data of rock samples (n = 9), high values of Au (maximum 2030 ppb) are spatially related to Au–quartz veins. Soil samples (n = 61) collected from five sampling lines show higher values of Au (24–825 ppb) whereas soil samples from the control locations have lower values of Au (below 25 ppb). Many plant species collected from the vicinity of the veins have high Au contents compared with those at the control locations, but the ranges of Au values are variable among plant species. In a total of 128 samples of plant leaves, Q. aliena yielded Au values of 0.4 to 6.9 ppb, and M. japonicus 0.9 to 4.1 ppb. Gold contents in P. densiflora ranged from 0.1 to 5.6 ppb. Plant leaves from control areas show less than 1.6 ppb Au. The biological absorption coefficient (BAC) of Au in plants decreases in the order of Q. aliena > M. japonicus > P. densiflora. Based on the results of the study, Q. aliena appeared to be the best sampling media for biogeochemical prospecting of Au in the study area.  相似文献

Strongly boudinaged sandstone beds in a Palaeozoic accretionary complex are exposed on Great Keppel Island, off the central Queensland coast. Viewed in profile, the boudins are folded around mesoscopic F2 hinge zones and overprinted by S2 foliation indicating formation either during Late Carboniferous subduction accretion (D1) or during a previously unrecognised discrete early phase of the Permian deformation (D2). Boudin profiles record an average stretch of 1.51, although the contribution of D2 and later deformation is not determined. Viewed in the plane of bedding, vein traces are variable and oblique to boudin necks by an average of 12° anticlockwise. The overall en echelon arrangement of veins in boudin necks is a primary feature of the structure and cannot be attributed to later deformation. This pattern of veining indicates oblique extension of the boudin necks by low‐vorticity non‐coaxial flow within the plane of bedding. One possible setting with such kinematics is the limb of a non‐cylindrical fold.  相似文献

大青山逆冲断层带内热液脉体十分发育,按其产状可划分为充填脉和边缘脉。根据形成时间主要划分为3期:早期石英脉、中期石英脉和晚期方解石脉。早期石英脉中流体包裹体类型较为复杂,见有气液两相、含CO2三相、纯CO2及少量单液相等4种类型原生包裹体,分析表明流体主要来源于地壳深部或上地幔。中期石英脉中主要发育气液两相包裹体和少量单液相包裹体,流体主要来源于大气降水,并且有少量岩浆热液混入。晚期方解石脉内仅含有气液两相包裹体及少量的单液相包体,流体主要来源于层间建造水。根据逆冲变形事件期次、时间,结合热液脉体形成深度数据,确定了大青山逆冲推覆体系变形演化历史:印支期逆冲推覆事件发生在地壳7~8 km深度,燕山中期逆冲推覆事件发生在3~6 km范围内,而燕山晚期逆冲推覆事件发生近地表2 km范围内。  相似文献
