The Cervarola Sandstones Formation, Aquitanian–Burdigalian in age, was deposited in an elongate, north‐west stretched foredeep basin formed in front of the growing northern Apennines orogenic wedge. As other Apennine foredeep deposits, such as the Marnoso‐arenacea Formation, the stratigraphic succession of the Cervarola Sandstones Formation records the progressive closure of the basin due to the propagation of thrust fronts towards the north‐east, i.e. towards the outer and shallower foreland ramp. This process produces a complex foredeep that is characterized by syn‐sedimentary structural highs and depocentres that strongly influence lateral and vertical turbidite facies distribution. This work describes and discusses this influence, providing a high‐resolution physical stratigraphy with ‘bed by bed’ correlations of an interval ca 1000 m thick, parallel and perpendicular to the palaeocurrents and to the main structural alignments, on an area of ca 30 km that covers the proximal portion of the Cervarola basin in the northern Apennines. The main aim is to show, for the first time ever, a detailed facies analysis of the Cervarola Sandstones Formation, based on a series of bed types that have proven fundamental to understand the morphology of the basin. The knowledge of the vertical and lateral distribution of these bed types, such as contained‐reflected and slurry (i.e. hybrid) beds, together with other important sedimentary structures, i.e. cross‐bedded bypass facies and delamination structures, is the basis for better understanding of facies processes, as well as for proposing an evolutionary model of the foredeep in relation to the syn‐sedimentary growth of the main tectonic structures. This makes the Cervarola Sandstones, like the Marnoso‐arenacea Formation, a typical example of foredeep evolution.  相似文献

采用不同工况的载荷试验、室内常规土工试验和易溶盐试验,分析了碎石土的荷载-沉降曲线特征,探讨了碎石土的湿陷性与湿陷机理。结果表明:碎石土在200 kPa稳定后浸水,再加荷到400 kPa,载荷试验荷载-沉降曲线呈折线型,明显分为三个阶段:压缩变形阶段,湿陷变形阶段,复合变形阶段。场地中4 m厚碎石土具有湿陷性,且湿陷性不均匀。 碎石土湿陷的机理在于其结构是疏松的单粒架空结构。骨架颗粒间存在架空孔隙,且部分架空孔隙由砂质颗粒集合体充填;骨架颗粒间呈点与点接触,或者主要通过黏粒、黏土矿物、易溶盐组成的胶结物而联结在一起;在浸水加荷过程中,黏粒周围薄膜水增厚、粘土矿物自身产生膨胀、易溶盐溶解,导致胶结物的胶结强度丧失,结构失稳,发生湿陷。  相似文献

Abstract

Under a sustainable groundwater development and quality management project over a semi-arid granite terrain, several rainwater harvesting structures were proposed based on geophysical investigations in the study area. In order to validate the site suitability and check the efficacy of the recommended recharge structures in terms of source sustainability, certain hydrological tests, such as infiltration studies, were conducted within the recharge area of these structures. Infiltration rate estimation using a double-ring infiltrometer normally results in an exponential decay relationship with high initial infiltration rate followed by gradual reduction until, ultimately, a stabilized rate is attained. In this paper, we present the results of infiltration tests conducted using a double-ring infiltrometer (under constant head condition) within the tank bed area of a proposed percolation tank site. The results showed unique features in the infiltration rate at different time intervals within the total experimental period: a staircase-like evolution with intermittent stabilization for a short duration. Based on the integrated approach of geophysical investigations, hydrological tests, and supported by physical evidence, the infiltration behaviour observed over the study area was considered to be due to the lithological stratification with different permeability and textural conditions.

多年冻土路基的稳定性很大程度上取决于其下伏多年冻土层的热稳定性. 当融雪、降雨或人为等外界因素形成的路基坡脚积水持续一段时间后,这些积水可能通过入渗对流换热、热边界侵蚀、补给冻胀水分等方式加剧或诱发多年冻土路基热稳定性的下降和丧失. 通过回顾国内外相关文献,从影响多年冻土路基稳定性的因素、积水对路基活动层冻融过程中水分迁移的影响、热融湖塘类积水对冻土路基的热影响、降雨和融雪积水入渗对冻土路基的热影响等方面,归纳总结了坡脚积水对多年冻土路基影响方面的研究进展;在此基础上,提出了对此问题进一步深入的研究展望和探讨.  相似文献

吉林省桦甸市公郎头区丰泰油页岩矿区赋存有13个油页岩层,地质条件简单,采空区位于桦甸市公郎头煤矿(桦甸油页岩二矿)矿区范围内第2、4、6、7层采空区与丰泰矿4、5、6层采空区,与部分巷道相连通,从未发生过涌水现象,说明目前不存在老窿积水问题。  相似文献

At least six devastating glacial floods occurred in the Karambar valley in the 19th and 20th century. Previously mainly the Karambar glacier was considered as the origin of these outburst floods. However, in this project more detailed investigations revealed that up to eight more tributary glaciers could have dammed the Karambar valley in historical and prehistorical times. The ice-dammed lakes reached an approximate length of up to about 5 km and more. The dense concentration of the glacier dams along a horizontal distance of only 40 km results in a complex interfingering of lake basins and flooded valley sections. In the individual flood events were probably involved almost synchronously the drainage of at least two lakes resulting in a lake outburst cascade. The Karambar case study highlights the characteristic geomorphological landforms of the glacier dams, their lake basins and the geomorphological impact of the outburst floods. The abundant occurrence of unconsolidated sediments mantling the valley flanks caused a high sediment load and enhanced the erosion potential of the flood. The erosion cliffs of sediment cones, up to 100 m high, wash limits along the slopes and longitudinal bars in the gravel floors are main characteristics of the flood landscape. Secondary temporary lake formations (back water ponding) during the flood events in consequence of blockages of the ice- and sediment-loaden flood masses occurred at many locations in the narrower valley sections and lasted for several days. Additionally, debris flows in-between the glacier dams have dammed temporarily the Karambar valley. On the basis of losses of settlement area and eye-witness reports, the extent, erosion rates and characteristics of the 1905 flood event could be reconstructed. In order to warn the villagers living downstream, the Karambar people established an early warning fire system (Puberanch) from Sokther Rabot to Gilgit which was operated until 1905. The reconstructed Karambar flood chronology represents one of the longest records for this region and provides also information on historical and recent glacier oscillations, especially on exceptional glacier advances. At present, the Chateboi glacier seals the Karambar valley over a distance of 4 km. An outburst flood would have disastrous impacts to the human infrastructure as the settlement areas expanded to the flood plains in the last decades.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to simulate the progress of the soil water content distribution in the soil profile with a water table at the bottom of the soil profile during ponding irrigation. This simulation can be done by solving the two‐dimensional Richards's equation for the assimilation of the advancing water jet, which uses the conditions of the two exponential functional forms k = ks eαψ and θ = θr + (θs − θr) eαψ to represent the hydraulic conductivity and volumetric water content, with ψ the pressure as the third variable. We assume that the ground surface becomes ponded and saturated as soon as the water flux passes the dry ground surface. By the technique of transformation, the analytical solution of these two‐dimensional Richards' equations has enabled figures of volumetric water content distribution to be obtained in successive time periods after irrigation. For the example of loam soil, it can simulate the variation of volumetric water content during and after irrigation in the soil profile. The analytical solutions of this paper reflect the real situation simulated, and can be applied to verify those complicated solutions from other analytical models. A one‐dimensional, two‐layer solute transport model is developed to simulate chemical transport process in an initially unsaturated soil with ponding water on the soil surface before surface runoff starts. The developed mathematical model is tested against a laboratory experiment. The infiltration and diffusion processes are mathematically lumped together and described by incomplete mixing parameters. Based on mass conservation and water balance equations, the model is developed to describe solute transport in a two‐zone layer, a ponding runoff zone and a soil mixing zone. The two‐zone layer is treated as one system to avoid describing the complicated chemical transport processes near the soil surface in the mixing zone. The proposed model was analytically solved, and the solutions agreed well with the experimental data. The developed experimental method and mathematical model were used to study the effect of the soil initial moisture saturation on chemical concentration in surface runoff. The study results indicated that, when the soil was initially saturated, chemical concentration in surface runoff was significantly (two orders of magnitude) higher than that with initially unsaturated soil, while the initial chemical concentrations at the two cases were of the same magnitude. The soil mixing depth for the initially unsaturated soil was much larger than that for the initially saturated soil, and the incomplete runoff mixing parameter was larger for the initially unsaturated soil. The higher the infiltration rate of the soil, the greater the infiltration‐related incomplete mixing parameter. According to the quantitative analysis, the soil mixing depth was found to be sensitive for both initially unsaturated and saturated soils, and the incomplete runoff mixing parameter was sensitive for initially saturated soil but not for the initially unsaturated soil; the incomplete infiltration mixing parameter behaved just the opposite. 北京城市内涝数值模型(BUW)根据北京复杂地形和大城市特点,将各类空间信息剖分为6458个网格及相应的通道,围绕城市地表、河道沟渠、排水管网等城市主要水文水动力学物理过程,模拟积水深度变化情况。以精细化的降水监测为驱动条件,BUW可以较好地模拟出“7·21”城市内涝积水的空间分布,对重点桥区的积水深度,积水过程的模拟也比较贴近实际,具有良好的模拟性能。360 min历时的2年重现期降雨情景下,北京四环内就会产生一定的积水,以孤立的积水点为主。10和50年重现期下,积水的深度和范围都有所增加,且开始呈片状。100年重现期,整个五环内都出现严重的城市积水,南部出现大片超过50 cm的积水区域,部分地区积水超过80 cm。面对“7·21”级别的降水,排水管网直径拓宽20%并不能明显改善城市排水能力。拓宽60%时,四环到五环之间的积水明显减弱,四环以内的大部分积水减弱。拓宽100%时,仅在二环到四环之间还有一些较浅的积水,拓宽140%时,六环内大部分积水消失。  相似文献
