Abstract The hydrological cycle in arid and semi-arid climates is highly controlled by evaporation. The correct quantification of this process is essential for improving the accuracy of water balance estimates, especially in closed basins. The objective of this paper is to characterize evaporation rates from shallow groundwater using the chamber approach in six closed basins in the Altiplano of northern Chile. Measurements were made at 49 locations with water-table depths ranging from 0.09 m to 3.3 m. Estimated daily evaporation rates appeared to be strongly related to groundwater depth and soil texture. In particular, the highest rates were recorded in areas with high groundwater tables and coarse-grained soils. Evaporation curves were derived by fitting exponential and power relationships as functions of the groundwater depths that we proposed to use in the study area. An application of these curves for the Salar de Pedernales basin produced an estimated evaporation flow of 530 L s-1, using the average curve. Citation Johnson, E., Yáñez, J., Ortiz, C. & Muñoz, J. Combining a six-term heat balance equation and a seasonal thermocline model, a new equation to calculate non- radiative fluxes of Lake Banyoles has been determined. Mean daily measurements of global solar radiation, downward longwave radiation, wind speed, air temperature and water surface temperature were used as input data and lake temperature as the calculated output data of the model. To calibrate performance of the new equation, calculated lake temperature was compared with measured lake temperature during both the mixing and the stratified period of the lake. The new coefficients in the wind function to calculate the non-radiative fluxes at the water surface were assumed to depend on the variability of the wind speed, the air temperature of the study area and the surface temperature of the lake. In addition, the results were used to estimate the heat balance of the air–water interface of Lake Banyoles over a period of two years. The processes that have been taken into account are shortwave and longwave radiation, back-radiation emitted by the lake, sensible and latent heat and throughflow. 相似文献

This paper investigates the prediction of Class A pan evaporation using the artificial neural network (ANN) technique. The ANN back propagation algorithm has been evaluated for its applicability for predicting evaporation from minimum climatic data. Four combinations of input data were considered and the resulting values of evaporation were analysed and compared with those of existing models. The results from this study suggest that the neural computing technique could be employed successfully in modelling the evaporation process from the available climatic data set. However, an analysis of the residuals from the ANN models developed revealed that the models showed significant error in predictions during the validation, implying loss of generalization properties of ANN models unless trained carefully. The study indicated that evaporation values could be reasonably estimated using temperature data only through the ANN technique. 基于压力板仪对相同制样参数的4个环刀试样与12个三轴试样进行土-水特征曲线(SWCC)试验,研究影响试验的各种潜在因素以及相关的异常现象。试验结果表明:即便是相同条件制备的试样,其SWCC之间也会存在差异性,这种差异与土的颗粒级配不良有直接关系,而与平衡时间无关;蒸发效应在SWCC试验中持续存在,并在平衡后期成为失水的主要因素,因此,对平衡条件应适当修正;试样的侧面防护对试样的SWCC影响显著,特别对于大高径比试样,蒸发效应将因其侧面防护脱离而成为失水的主要因素,严重影响SWCC的试验结果;横向裂纹这一异常现象并未影响SWCC测量结果,但其产生机制却可能反应了轴平移技术的不足,值得进一步研究。根据上述研究结果和其他相关试验成果,对SWCC试验提出建议和改进方法。 相似文献

西藏当雄错盐湖位于藏北高原腹地西南侧,其水化学类型属典型的中度碳酸盐型,具有很好的工业开发前景和价值.自然蒸发是盐田日晒工艺的应用基础工作,本文基于室内卤水等温蒸发实验的相关结果,在当雄错湖区现场开展了盐湖卤水冬季日晒蒸发实验,通过考察碳酸盐型盐湖卤水在现场低温条件下自然蒸发过程中液相各元素的富集规律以及矿物的结晶析盐规律,分析了锂、硼、钾等元素的集散行为,并根据卤水蒸发过程中的元素富集、蒸失水量、盐类析出顺序、矿物组合以及物化性质的变化探索了盐类分离的控制条件.以Na+,K+/CO2-3,SO2-4,Cl--H2O五元体系(25℃)介稳相图为参考依据,绘制了当雄错盐湖卤水冬季日晒蒸发的结晶析盐路线.实验结果表明,当雄错盐湖卤水在冬季日晒蒸发过程中依次析出石盐、泡碱、天然碱、硼砂、钾石盐和扎布耶石,另有少量芒硝和泡碱等低温产物会提前析出或被母液夹带析出,利用冬季低温蒸发可制取富锂卤水,蒸发后期的母卤还可用于提取硼砂和钾石盐等矿物资源.实验结果为下一步开展盐田工程设计及制卤工艺操作提供了必要的基础数据,同时也为碳酸盐型盐湖卤水的综合利用和开发提供了理论支持. 相似文献

Potential evaporation (PE) is the basic component of the global hydrological cycle and energy balance. This study detected the temporal and spatial variations of PE and related driving factors in Tibet, China, for the period 1961–2001, based on observed data recorded at 22 meteorological stations. The results showed that (1) Tibet experienced a statistically significant decrease of PE between 1961 and 2001, which started mainly in the 1980s, along with accelerated warming; (2) the mean annual PE in Tibet showed an east–west increasing trend, and the annual PE at most stations presented decreasing trends; (3) an inverse correlation of mean annual PE with elevation was detected (low–high decreasing trend), and the statistical equations to estimate PE were established based on longitude, latitude and elevation; and (4) PE in Tibet can be well expressed by related meteorological variables, with vapour pressure deficit the dominant factor in determining PE.
