Chemical zoning in the outer few 10s of microns of garnet porphyroblasts has been investigated to assess the scale of chemical equilibrium with matrix minerals in a pelitic schist. Garnet porphyroblasts from the Late Proterozoic amphibolite facies regional metamorphic mica schists from Glen Roy in the Scottish Highlands contain typical prograde growth zoning patterns. Edge compositions have been measured via a combination of analysis of traverses across the planar edges of porphyroblast surfaces coupled to X-ray mapping of small areas within polished thin sections at the immediate edge of the porphyroblasts. These approaches reveal local variation in garnet composition, especially of grossular (Ca) and almandine (Fe) components, with a range at the edge from <7 mol.% grs to >16 mol.% grs, across distances of less than 50 µm. This small-scale patchy compositional zoning is as much variation as the core–rim compositional zoning across the whole of a 3 mm porphyroblast. Ca and Fe heterogeneity occurs on a scale suggesting a combination of inefficient diffusive exchange across grain boundaries during prograde growth and the evolving microtopography of the porphyroblast surface control garnet composition. The latter creates haloes of compositional zoning adjacent to some inclusions, which typically extend from the inclusion towards the porphyroblast edge during further growth. The lack of a consistent equilibrium composition at the garnet edge is also apparent in the internal zoning of the porphyroblast and so processes occurring during entrapment of some mineral inclusions have a profound influence on the overall chemical zoning. Garnet compositions and associated zoning patterns are widely used by petrologists to reconstruct P–T–t paths for crustal rocks. The evidence of extremely localized (10–50 µm scale) equilibrium during growth further undermines these approaches.  相似文献

A new transmitting boundary in a cylindrical coordinate system has been developed for modeling the elastic waves radiating out to an infinite boundary in water-saturated transversely isotropic soil strata over a rigid bedrock. The saturated soil strata are assumed to consist of a porous material and modeled as a transversely isotropic two-phase medium, based on the uU formulation. The newly developed transmitting boundary is combined with the finite-elements model of the near-field region, using the same uU formulation, and applied to the study of the dynamics of a rigid circular foundation in porous isotropic or transversely isotropic layered strata, either fully or partly saturated with water. The verification and application examples give valuable insights into new and interesting aspects of the dynamic behavior of rigid circular foundations in fully or partly saturated two-phase ground in terms of permeability, transverse anisotropy, and ground-water table level.  相似文献

The energy transmitting boundary used in programs such as FLUSH and ALUSH is a very accurate and useful technique for the earthquake response analysis of soil–structure interaction systems. However, it is applicable only to linear analyses or equivalent linear analyses, because it can be calculated only in the frequency domain. The author has proposed methods for transforming frequency-dependent impedance into the time domain. In this paper, an earthquake response analysis method for a soil–structure interaction system, using the energy transmitting boundary in the time domain, is proposed. First, the transform of the transmitting boundary matrices to the time domain using the methods proposed by the author is studied. Then, linear and nonlinear time history earthquake response analyses using the boundary are performed. Through these studies, the validity and efficiency of the proposed methods are confirmed.  相似文献

Our objective is to look for deep paths of Cenozoic volcanism and migration routes of active mantle volatiles through the lithosphere of the western Bohemian Massif. We show that the rejuvenated junction of three mantle domains, delimited by different orientation of seismic anisotropy and belonging to originally separated microplates — the Saxothuringian (ST), Moldanubian (MD) and Teplá-Barrandian (TB) — can provide the easiest upward routes of fluids through the deep lithosphere. Geographic distribution of mantle-fluid escapes at the surface suggests fluid migration through the ductile lower crust and through partly open faults in the rigid upper crust, which is locally detached and shifted from its lower part and from the mantle lithosphere. Present-day escapes of mantle-derived helium and CO2 concentrate mainly in two tectonically different crust edifices — in the Cheb Basin (CHB) and in an allochtonous block called the Mariánské Lázně Complex (MLC). Crystalline basement of the CHB developed above the Variscan ‘triple junction’ of the mantle lithosphere domains. The basement was extended during the Cenozoic and dissected by systems of faults into small partly sunken blocks. Thanks to buoyancy the mantle fluids migrate upwards along the lithosphere junction into the faulted basement of the CHB. The highest CO2 flow and the highest 3He/4He ratios are observed at intersections of major normal faults and along the southern boundary of the Smrčiny (Fichtelgebirge) granite Pluton. The fluid escapes are separated from the earthquake swarm epicentres. Routes of the fluids to the MLC are longer and more complicated. Surface escapes tap the mantle fluids mainly from the Mariánské Lázně Fault (MLF) and from the tectonic boundaries along which the MLC block of the TB lower crust was thrust over the ST complexes. Hypocentres of earthquake swarms of the two major focal areas at Novy Kostel and Lazy, located mainly at depths of 6–13 km, reside either in granite or in underlying gneiss, while the escapes of mantle fluids follow major faults or boundaries of crystalline units outside the Smrčiny and Karlovy Vary granite Plutons. We suggest that primarily those parts of faults in the upper crust, which is strengthened by granite magmatism and rigid enough to selectively accumulate stresses, are seismoactive. On the other hand, other parts of the faults tapping ascending mantle volatiles are ‘lubricated’ by the fluids and secondary mineralogical changes, and thus they cannot accumulate sufficient stresses to be released by earthquakes. A comparison of the most probable paths of the mantle fluids with the space-time distribution of the Novy Kostel hypocentres does not seem to support the model of the earthquake swarms triggered by pressurized fluids of mantle origin.  相似文献

华北地区是我国的政治、 经济和文化中心, 也是我国地震多发地区之一。 华北地区历史地震资料记载时间较早且较为连续, 是研究我国强震活动的理想试验场。 选取第三、 第四活动期M≥6.0地震目录作为基础资料研究华北地区强震活动特点。 首先探讨华北地区强震活动与活动地块、 边界带的关系, 然后从时间和空间上分析华北地区强震活动的轮回性阶段及其期幕活动特点, 最后计算未来5年华北地区发生下一次M≥6.0地震的累积概率和条件概率。 研究结果表明: ① 华北地区M≥6.0地震活动主要集中在活动地块的边界带, M≥7.0地震则全部发生在活动地块的边界带上, 同时华北地区地震应变释放速率与边界带的构造活动速率呈线性相关; ② 第四活动期各活跃幕的能量释放均低于第三活动期, 因此华北地区未来仍可能发生M≥6.0地震; ③ 第三、 第四活动期的主体活动区存在显著差异, 且第四活动期的强震活动较第三活动期向东迁移; ④ 在2020年年初发生第四活动期闭幕M≥6.0地震的累积概率为80%左右, 而在2022年年底前发生M≥6.0地震的条件概率为50%。 本研究可为华北地区地震大形势分析和中长期地震危险性预测提供重要参考。  相似文献

In order to determine the tectonic framework of the Late Paleozoic sedimentary basin of the studied area in Inner Mongolia, horizontal derivative, vertical derivative, total gradient modulus, tilt angle, and Euler deconvolution methods were used to process the high-precision gravity data. Four major faults and six secondary faults have been identified according to the horizontal fault position information provided by the first four methods, and the fault depth information were obtained using the Euler deconvolution method. The interpreted faults were identified as the main basin-controlling structures in the study area, which was helpful for deepening the understanding of the basin's structure, as well as providing important references for delineating hidden polymetallic ore veins.  相似文献

领域化是当前政治地理研究的核心概念和理论。城市化将农村区域划入“城市”之中,城市局限往往通过土地扩张来解决,地方和国家等不同行动者呈现出不同尺度的领域化和去领域化的策略。本文以广州一个正在城市化的村落为例展开历时态研究,并得出以下结论:首先,城市化中的“领域化”和“去领域化”第一层次为土地,国家根据法律以及城市依据自身发展需要将土地纳入城市范畴;其次,第二层次为围绕利益空间的“领域化”和“去领域化”,伴随着地方政府、企业、村集体、村民等的策略,不同主体和话语开始进入并协商博弈;第三层次为地方认同,竞争性的“再领域化”促成地方认同的产生和变化。这三个层次的不一致性导致了不同时期治理方式的差异和治理困境的产生。本文从领域化理论视角深入探究尺度政治如何在城市化过程中产生和得以体现,以及不同城市化发展时期和城市空间转变中的城乡边界动态变化、村落自我调整的复杂过程以及城乡融合过程中的治理挑战,最后给出政策思考和建议。  相似文献

Determination of hydraulic diffusivity of aquifers by spectral analysis   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
This study uses the cyclical frequency to develop the mathematical relationship between hydraulic diffusivity and spectral density functions calculated from groundwater level variation. Such relationship can be applied to (1) unsteady state, one-dimensional confined aquifer with time-dependent water level on both end boundaries, and (2) linearized unconfined aquifer with or without vertical recharge. The spectral density functions of groundwater fluctuations are largely affected by the spectral density functions obtained from time-dependent end boundaries and their cross-spectral density functions. Hydraulic diffusivity of an aquifer can be solved by type-curve matching technique at a specified frequency band under the conditions of (1) confined aquifer having equal time-dependent boundaries on both ends, (2) unconfined aquifer having equal time-dependent boundaries on both ends with surface recharge, and (3) unconfined aquifer subjected to surface recharge but neglecting the water table fluctuations on both end boundaries.  相似文献
