Transmitting boundary for water-saturated transversely isotropic strata based on the u–U formulation
A new transmitting boundary in a cylindrical coordinate system has been developed for modeling the elastic waves radiating out to an infinite boundary in water-saturated transversely isotropic soil strata over a rigid bedrock. The saturated soil strata are assumed to consist of a porous material and modeled as a transversely isotropic two-phase medium, based on the u−U formulation. The newly developed transmitting boundary is combined with the finite-elements model of the near-field region, using the same u−U formulation, and applied to the study of the dynamics of a rigid circular foundation in porous isotropic or transversely isotropic layered strata, either fully or partly saturated with water. The verification and application examples give valuable insights into new and interesting aspects of the dynamic behavior of rigid circular foundations in fully or partly saturated two-phase ground in terms of permeability, transverse anisotropy, and ground-water table level. 相似文献

We discuss the inverse medium problem associated with the reconstruction of the heterogeneous material profile of a semi-infinite (layered) soil medium, directly in the time domain, based on the complete waveform response of the medium to interrogating waves. To tackle the inversion process, we use a partial-differential-equation-constrained optimization approach, supplemented with a time-dependent regularization scheme. We introduce an absorbing boundary to truncate the semi-infinite extent of the physical domain, and propose two schemes to refine the reconstructed profiles: the first is based on iteratively re-positioning the truncation boundary until convergence, and the second is based on optimizing the observation period, so as to exclude records with information beyond the truncation boundary. We present numerical results that attest to the efficacy of the proposed schemes in reconstructing sharp profiles of semi-infinite soil domains using both noise-free and noisy data, while in the presence of absorbing boundaries. 相似文献

基于Biot理论,考虑液相的黏弹性变形和固液相接触面上的相对扭转,提出了含黏滞流体VTI孔隙介质模型.从理论上推导出,在该模型中除存在快P波、慢P波、SV波、SH波以外,还将存在两种新横波-慢SV波和慢SH波.数值模拟分析了6种弹性波的相速度、衰减、液固相振幅比随孔隙度、频率的变化规律以及快P波、快SV波的衰减随流体性质、渗透率、入射角的变化规律.结果表明慢SV波和慢SH波主要在液相中传播,高频高孔隙度时,速度较高;大角度入射时,快P波衰减表现出明显的各向异性,而快SV波的衰减则基本不变;储层纵向和横向渗透率存在差异时,快SV波衰减大的方向渗透率高. 相似文献

Abstract The chemical Th-U-total Pb isochron method (CHIME) has been applied to determine the ages of monazite grains from metasediments of greenscshist-amphibolite facies in the Altai orogen, northwest China. The area of distribution of these metamorphic rocks is divided into the Permian (261–268 Ma) central-western and Devonian (377–382 Ma) eastern units on the basis of their metamorphic ages. The Devonian CHIME ages are consistent with the Pb–Pb ages of granitoid in the eastern unit, and support the idea that emplacement of the granitoids was synchronous with regional metamorphism at deep levels. The Permian metamorphic ages (the present study) and igneous ages previously reported from the central-western unit can be interpreted in terms of subduction of crustal material and oceanic plate, and rapid exhumation. 相似文献

On the basis of previous study of the 1679 Sanhe-Pinggu(M8.0) earthquake,the biggest event in history ever recorded in Beijing and its adjacent area,we made a 3-D strong ground motion simulation utilizing the staggered-grid finite differences method to study the distributions of peak ground velocity with different earthquake source models in the Beijing region.In the paper,earthquake source models and a transmission medium velocity model are established and the corresponding parameters are given in accordance to the results from a related previous study.Then,using a three-dimensional finite difference computing program of near-fault strong ground motion developed by Graves,the peak ground velocity caused by a destructive earthquake in the Beijing area is simulated.In our computation model,the earthquake source is 3km in depth,and a total number of 21,679 observation points on the ground surface are figured out.The transmission medium velocity model is composed of four stratums which are the Quaternary deposit,the upper crust,the upper part of the middle crust and the lower part of the middle crust.With the minimum grid spacing of 0.15km,a total of 2.28×106 grids are generated.Using a time step of 0.02 seconds we calculated the peak ground velocity for a duration of 8 seconds.After the analysis of the simulation results,we observed some basic characteristics of near-fault strong ground motion such as the concentration effect of near-fault peak ground velocity,rupture directivity effect,hanging wall effect,and basin effect.The results from our simulation and analysis suggest that the source and transmitting medium parameters in our model are suitable and the finite difference method is applicable to estimate the distribution of strong ground motion in the study region. 相似文献

Conventional ray tracing for arbitrarily anisotropic and heterogeneous media is expressed in terms of 21 elastic moduli belonging
to a fixed, global, Cartesian coordinate system. Our principle objective is to obtain a new ray-tracing formulation, which
takes advantage of the fact that the number of independent elastic moduli is often less than 21, and that the anisotropy thus
has a simpler nature locally, as is the case for transversely isotropic and orthorhombic media. We have expressed material
properties and ray-tracing quantities (e.g., ray-velocity and slowness vectors) in a local anisotropy coordinate system with
axes changing directions continuously within the model. In this manner, ray tracing is formulated in terms of the minimum
number of required elastic parameters, e.g., four and nine parameters for P-wave propagation in transversely isotropic and
orthorhombic media, plus a number of parameters specifying the rotation matrix connecting local and global coordinates. In
particular, we parameterize this rotation matrix by one, two, or three Euler angles. In the ray-tracing equations, the slowness
vector differentiated with respect to traveltime is related explicitly to the corresponding differentiated slowness vector
for non-varying rotation and the cross product of the ray-velocity and slowness vectors. Our formulation is advantageous with
respect to user-friendliness, efficiency, and memory usage. Another important aspect is that the anisotropic symmetry properties
are conserved when material properties are determined in arbitrary points by linear interpolation, spline function evaluation,

Probabilistic analysis by Monte Carlo Simulation method (MCSM) is a computationally prohibitive task for a reactive solute transport involving coupled PDEs with nonlinear source/sink terms in 3-D heterogeneous porous media. The perturbation based stochastic finite element method (SFEM) is an attractive alternative method to MCSM as it is computationally efficient and accurate. In the present study SFEM is developed for solving nonlinear reactive solute transport problem in a 3-D heterogeneous medium. Here the solution of the biodegradation problem involving a single solute by a single class of microorganisms coupled with dynamic microbial growth is attempted using this method. The SFEM here produces a second-order accurate solution for the mean and a first-order accurate solution for the standard deviation of concentrations. In this study both the physical parameters (hydraulic conductivity, porosity, dispersivity and diffusion coefficient) and the biological parameters (maximum substrate utilization rate and the coefficient of cell decay) are considered as spatially varying random fields. A comparison between the MCSM and SFEM for the mean and standard deviation of concentration is made for 1-D and 3-D problem. The effects of heterogeneity on the degradation of substrate and growth of biomass concentrations for a range of variances of input parameters are discussed for both 1-D and 3-D problems. 相似文献

针对波速分层的区域岩体,在异向波速模型的基础上,对垂向上的应力波按岩体波速值大小作分段区别,推导震源应力波走时关系式,建立分层速度定位目标函数,基于此提出一种由参数准备、层速度反演、微震定位三个模块组成的分层速度定位模型SV,并采用遗传算法进行优化求解.然后,对分层速度定位模型在已构建微震监测系统的白鹤滩水电站左岸岩质边坡进行验证.微震事件重定位结果表明,分层速度定位模型定位微震事件的最大、最小和平均偏离层内错动带程度指标较单一速度模型分别降低了57.17%、36.51%和57.35%,证明了定位模型在波速分层的区域岩体微震定位应用中比单一速度定位模型更加合理可靠. 相似文献
