Shear deformation of hot pressed plagioclase–olivine aggregates was studied in the presence and absence of mineral reaction. Experiments were performed at 900 °C, 1500 MPa, and a constant shear strain rate of 5×10−5 s−1 in a solid medium apparatus. Whether the mineral reaction between plagioclase and olivine takes place or not is controlled by choosing the appropriate plagioclase composition; labradorite (An60) does not react, anorthite (An92) does. Labradorite–olivine aggregates deformed without reaction are very strong and show strain hardening throughout the experiment. Syndeformational reaction between olivine and anorthite causes a pronounced strain weakening. The reaction produces fine-grained opx–cpx–spinel aggregates, which accommodate a large fraction of the finite strain. Deformation and reaction are localised within a 0.5-mm-wide sample. Three representative samples were analysed for their fabric anisotropy R* and shape-preferred orientation α* (fabric angle with the shear plane) using the autocorrelation function (ACF). Fabric anisotropy can be calibrated to quantify strain variations across the sheared samples. In the deformed and reacted anorthite–olivine aggregate, there is a strong correlation between reaction progress and strain; regions of large shear strain correspond to regions of maximum reaction progress. 边坡稳定性影响因素分析是认识边坡变形破坏机制、评价稳定性和预测变形发展趋势的重要前提。针对边坡工程中的出现的次生成层结构边坡,首先简要分析其次生成层结构岩体的主要成因机制;然后根据顺向次生成层结构边坡的特点和工程经验,选取影响这类边坡稳定性的重要因素,通过参数取值正交试验,并采用UDEC软件对其进行数值模拟,获得各影响因素对边坡变形破坏影响程度的量化结果。研究结果表明:这类成层结构是接近地表的岩体在外生作用下由于差异卸荷回弹作用、应力分异和动荷载作用发生应力释放而形成的次生结构;各因素对顺向次生成层结构边坡稳定性影响的主次顺序各不相同;而在单一影响因素变化下其边坡稳定性系数、次生成层最大张开程度、坡顶最大位移又表现出不一样的特点。该研究结果对顺向次生成层结构边坡的开挖设计和支护措施选择具有重要理论和实践意义。 相似文献

This paper illustrates the modulation of the eddy scale distribution due to superimposition of surface wave on only current flow. Time series data of three-dimensional velocity components were measured in a laboratory flume by a three-dimensional (3D) 16-MHz micro-acoustic Doppler velocimeter (Micro-ADV). The velocity time series of only current case and waves following the current were analysed to obtain the phase-averaged mean velocities, turbulent intensities, and Reynolds stress. The probability density function of phase-averaged stream-wise and vertical velocity fluctuations showed bimodal oscillations towards the free surface for higher frequency surface waves. It was revealed that surface waves along the current effectively decrease the intermittency of turbulence of the only current flow. Surface wave changed the intermittent structure of only current flow by modulation of the energy cascade mechanism of the only current flow by introduction of wave induced length scales. Also the scale of the finer dissipative eddies were prominently enhanced by the increase in surface wave frequency. Wavelet analysis of time series of velocity signals provided information on the eddy scale and their frequency of occurrence. It was found that the large eddies are carried by the crest regions of the progressive wave while the small scale eddies are carried by the trough regions. 相似文献

Abstract The design of an alluvial channel affected by seepage requires information about five basic parameters: particle size, water depth, energy slope, seepage velocity, and average velocity. The conventional approach to predicting the incipient motion in an alluvial channel cannot be applied in the case of a channel affected by seepage. Metamodelling techniques are nowadays widely used in engineering design to simulate a complex system. Here, a metamodel is described which employs the radial-basis function (RBF) network to predict the seepage velocity and energy slope based on experimental data under incipient motion conditions. It was found that the model fits experimental data very well and provides predictions for the design. With the help of the metamodel generated by the RBF network, design curves based on the RBF metamodel are presented for use in designing an alluvial channel when it is affected by seepage. 本文利用由中国地震局在鲁甸地震震区附近架设的35个流动观测台站记录的远震事件记录,采用接收函数H-k扫描方法和CCP叠加成像方法获取了鲁甸地震震源区的地壳精细结构,结果显示鲁甸地震发生在地壳厚度和泊松比变化较剧烈的地区.昭通断裂西南段和东北段地壳物质组分差异明显,西南段断裂两侧地壳组分均显示为中泊松比分布,东北段断裂两侧泊松比从低泊松比快速变化为高泊松比,表明东北段西南侧壳内含有更多铁镁质组分,造成昭通断裂西南段和东北段对青藏高原下地壳物质向东南运移的阻挡有所差异,导致壳内应变积累,从而引起鲁甸地震的发生.在震源区地壳内部存在的低速层,可能为此次地震提供了可能的孕震环境.鲁甸地震与芦山地震虽然均没有产生明显的地表破裂带,但两者的震源机制以及孕震环境存在着明显的差异.本文也认为未来应关注青藏高原东缘断裂的历史地震空段发生大地震的可能性.本文研究结果对于理解青藏高原东缘区域的孕震背景具有一定的意义. 相似文献

Seismic performance of natural slopes, earth structures and solid-waste landfills can be evaluated through displacement-based methods in which permanent displacements induced by earthquake loading are assumed to progressively develop along the critical sliding surface as a result of transient activation of plastic mechanisms within the soil mass. For sliding mechanisms of general shape the earthquake-induced displacements should be computed using a model that provides a closer approximation of sliding surface. When large permanent displacement are induced by seismic actions, due to substantial shear strength reduction, and significant changes in ground surface occur, an improved estimate of permanent displacement can be obtained using a model which accounts for shear strength reduction and mass transfer between adjacent portions of the slope resulting from geometry changes of ground surface during the seismic event.In this paper, a GLE-based model is proposed for seismic displacement analysis of slopes that accounts for shear strength degradation and for geometry rearrangement. Model accuracy is validated against experimental results obtained from shaking table tests carried out on small scale model slopes. Comparison of computed and experimental results demonstrates the capability of the proposed approach in capturing the main features of the observed seismic response of the model slopes. 相似文献

Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to study the combined effects of the various parameters namely, pH, biosorbent dosage, cadmium concentration and temperature, and to optimize the process conditions for the maximum removal of cadmium using Psidium guvajava L. leaf powder. In order to obtain the mutual interactions between the variables and to optimize these variables, a 24 full factorial central composite design using RSM was employed. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the quadratic model demonstrates that the model was highly significant. The model was statistically tested and verified by experimentation. A maximum cadmium removal of 93.2% was obtained under the following optimum conditions: aqueous cadmium concentration 40.15 mg/L, adsorbent dosage 0.5 g/50 mL solution, pH 5.0, and temperature (35°C).
