A new method for solving the transport equation based on the management of a large numbe of particles in a discretized 2-D domain is presented. The method uses numerical variables to represent the number of particles in a given mesh and is more complex than the 1-D problem. The first part of the paper focuses on the specific management of particles in a 2-D problem. The method also would be valid for three dimensions as long as the medium can be modeled similar to a layered system. As the particles are no longer tracked individually, the algorithm is fast and does not depend on the number of particles present. The numerical tests show that the method is nearly numerical dispersion free and permits accurate calculations even for simulations of low-concentration transport. Because each mesh is considered as a closed system between two successive time steps, it is easy to add adsorption phenomenon without any problem of numerical stability. The model is tested under conditions that are extremely demanding for its operating mode and gives a good fit to analytical solutions. The conditions in which it can be used to best advantage are discussed. 相似文献

The application of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to coal surface characterisation for preparation research is described. Progress towards the acquisition of complementary surface chemical information by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) is also discussed. Surface-based beneficiation techniques such as flotation are assuming greater importance as the proportion of fines in raw coal increases due to the proliferation of high capacity mining methods. A necessary condition for the floatability of a coal particle is adequate hydrophobicity, and the degree of hydrophobicity of the flotation concentrate is one factor influencing the ease with which its dewatering can be affected. The hydrophobicity of a coal is very difficult to measure directly because of microporosity, and it is often necessary to deduce the degree of hydrophobicity from a knowledge of the surface chemistry. XPS is able to provide sufficient analytical data to allow relative levels of hydrophobicity to be estimated. In principle, ToF-SIMS should be able to supply additional information enabling refinement of such estimates; however, there are insufficient data at present to allow the ionic fragments detected to be related to specific functional groups at the coal surface. 相似文献

A Simple Parameterisation for Flux Footprint Predictions 总被引:9,自引:6,他引:9
Flux footprint functions estimate the location and relative importance of passive scalar sources influencing flux measurements
at a given receptor height. These footprint estimates strongly vary in size, depending on receptor height, atmospheric stability,
and surface roughness. Reliable footprint calculations from, e.g., Lagrangian stochastic models or large-eddy simulations
are computationally expensive and cannot readily be computed for long-term observational programs. To facilitate more accessible
footprint estimates, a scaling procedure is introduced for flux footprint functions over a range of stratifications from convective
to stable, and receptor heights ranging from near the surface to the middle of the boundary layer. It is shown that, when
applying this scaling procedure, footprint estimates collapse to an ensemble of similar curves. A simple parameterisation
for the scaled footprint estimates is presented. This parameterisation accounts for the influence of the roughness length
on the footprint and allows for a quick but precise algebraic footprint estimation. 相似文献

The aim of this study is to predict peak particle velocity level at a limestone quarry located in Istanbul, Turkey. The ground vibration components were measured for 73 blast events during the bench blast optimization studies during a long period. In blasting operations; ANFO (blasting agent), gelatine dynamite (priming) and NONEL detonators (firing) were used as explosives at this site. Parameters of scaled distance (charge quantity per delay and the distance between the source and the station) were recorded carefully and the ground vibration components were measured by means of vibration monitors for every event. Then, the data pairs of scaled distance and particle velocity were analyzed. The equation of scaled distance extensively used in the literature was taken into consideration for the prediction of peak particle velocity. At the end of statistical evaluations, an empirical relationship with good correlation was established between peak particle velocity and scale distance for this site. 采集了北京市2000年春夏季大气气溶胶样品5个,采用扫描电镜X射线能谱技术分析大气气溶胶单颗粒约2500个。研究结果表明,沙尘期间,矿物尘是最主要的颗粒物种类,非沙尘期间,北京市大气气溶胶中主要检出矿物尘和含硫颗粒物。夏季随着颗粒物污染的加重,含硫颗粒物的数目百分数增加。是北京市大气颗粒物污染的重要特征。重点讨论了Ca-S颗粒、K-S颗粒和Ca-K-S颗粒三类典型含硫颗粒物的化学组成和粒径分布特征。数目可观的Ca-K-S颗粒以及其他硫酸盐颗粒的生成与相对湿度和云量等气象条件相关,这些颗粒物可能是云中过程的产物。减少SO2排放,减少含硫颗粒物,对于控制北京市的大气颗粒物浓度水平具有重要意义。 相似文献
