Flux-energy spectra of precipitating electrons are derived from electron density profiles measured by the EISCAT radar during auroral absorption events in the morning/noon local-time sector. The inversion technique uses effective recombination coefficient profiles computed on the basis of a previously validated theoretical model of the lower ionosphere. It is shown that flux-energy spectra for the energy range 30–200 keV are in reasonable agreement with those derived for the same events using trapped flux-energy spectra from geosynchronous satellite data and a model for diffusion of trapped electrons into the loss cone by scattering on whistler waves. During individual events, strongly varying precipitating fluxes are found to be due primarily to varying pitch-angle diffusion. 相似文献

The effectiveness of tuned mass dampers (TMD) in vibration control of buildings was investigated under moderate ground shaking caused by long‐distance earthquakes with frequency contents resembling the 1985 Mexico City (SCT) or the 1995 Bangkok ground motion. The elastic–perfectly plastic material behaviour was assumed for the main structure, with linear TMDs employed by virtue of their simplicity and robustness. The accumulated hysteretic energy dissipation affected by TMD was examined, and the ratio of the hysteretic energy absorption in the structure with TMD to that without it is proposed to be used, in conjunction with the peak displacement ratio, as a supplementary TMD performance index since it gives an indication of the accumulated damage induced in the inelastic structures. For the ground motions considered, TMD would be effective in reducing the hysteretic energy absorption demand in the critical storeys for buildings in the 1.8–2.8 s range. The consequence is reduction in damage of the buildings which would otherwise suffer heavy damage in the absence of TMD, resulting in economical restorability in the damage control limit state. Absorption cross-section measurements of NO2 performed in our laboratory have been extended to the 200–300 nm region at ambient temperature. Low pressures have been used, limiting the effects of the dimer N2O4 which has an absorption cross-section from one to two orders of magnitude larger than that of NO2 in this region. 通过对偏岭石和相应煅烧高岭石的红外光谱测定,发现偏岭石同煅烧高岭石在结构上有很大的差异。在偏岭石中不存在非晶态SiO_2相,其中Si—O_4四面体同Al—O_6八面体是相互聚合的:煅烧高岭石(600~995℃)中则不同,其中Si大部分是以独立的非晶态SiO_2相存在,而同其中的Al_2O_3相分离。偏岭石同煅烧高岭石的关系是:对偏岭石进行一定温度的煅烧,它可以转变成像煅烧高岭石一样的结构状态。 相似文献

作者对激光热透镜光谱法测定微量钼进行了研究.试验表明,在丙酮介质中,Mo6+能被还原成Mo5+并形成钼蓝同多酸,最大吸收彼长在670um处,利用He-Ne激光器输出的632.8um的激光作光源,进行微量钼的热透镜法分析测定.两酮的存在能增强热透镜信号强度。钼含量在0.01—2.0μg/mL范围内与激光热透镜信号强度呈良好的线性关系,方法检出限为0.005μg/mL钼,已用于地质样品中微量钼的高灵敏度测定.结果满意. 相似文献

Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) has been applied to determine the elemental composition of the surface layer, as well as of the first interior layer, of quartz grains from the mine tailings from Kristineberg (northern Sweden) in order to determine concentration gradients between these two layers. The quartz grains were collected from the oxidized and unoxidized zones within the tailings. The aim of this study is to assess the role of quartz surfaces as sites for the attenuation of solutes from the mine-tailings porewater. Concentrations of Cu, Ag, Sb, Pb and Bi are highest near the surface of each grain and decrease towards the interior. The surface concentration of Cu, Zn and Pb is more pronounced within the unoxidized than within the oxidized zone of the tailings. Cu exhibits a distinct concentration peak at the surface of the quartz grains below the pre-remediation oxidation front. For Zn and Ce the trend of high surface concentration is less pronounced than for Cu or Pb. Silver, Bi and As are preferably adsorbed within the uppermost layers of the oxidized zone where the pH is as high as 6.2.
