In this paper we demonstrate the practical analysis of a dense Focal Plane Array (FPA) for a deep dish radio telescope. The analytical model is used to optimize efficiency and bandwidth of deep dish system by varying design parameters such as feed size and FPA aperture field. A prototype FPA was evaluated on the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT) and the resulting efficiency is discussed.  相似文献

Introduced to astronomy less than a decade ago, infrared detector arrays have radically and forever changed astronomer's observational techniques, instruments, and telescope designs. This paper first examines the array technology development that caused this change, with emphasis on the 1- to 5-m band. Technology trends and projections for further development within the infrared industry are analyzed to assist astronomers in planning future instruments. This technology development is predicted to result in arrays with lower noise, greater well depth, response to a wider band of wavelengths, and, above all, much larger formats than arrays currently in use.  相似文献

Local site conditions can significantly influence the characteristics of seismic ground motions. In this study, site response analyses using one-dimensional linear elastic (LE), equivalent-linear (EQL) and nonlinear (NL) approaches are performed at different seismic hazard levels of Singapore. Two seismic stations, namely, the KAP and BES stations located at soft soil sites, are selected from the national network of Singapore. Firstly, site response estimates using the LE, EQL (SHAKE04) and NL (DEEPSOIL) approaches are compared with the borehole recordings. Results show favorable matches between the predictions and the observations at the KAP site, while under-predictions are observed for all the three site effect approaches at the BES site. Secondly, the applicability of the LE, EQL and NL models is examined at different hazard levels of Singapore. It is found that for the hazard level at a return period of 475 years, the computed maximum strain (γmax) is 0.06% and then the EQL model can provide accurate site response predictions. However, for the hazard level at a return period of 2475 years, the calculated γmax is larger than 2%, resulting in notable differences in the predictions of different site response models. This study highlights the importance of site effects in seismic hazard analysis of Singapore.  相似文献

Conductivity anomalies in the Baltic Shield in Finland   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In 1981–84 six arrays of 30 or 31 magnetometers were operated on the Baitic Shield in central and southern Finland to deduce information about the electrical conductivity within the Earth's crust. The magnetometer sites cover the area with 20–60 km spacing allowing the identification of large-scale electrical structures within the crust. Each array recorded the three orthogonal magnetic field components on analogue film for about two months simultaneously at all the stations. Altogether 17 magnetic variation events of 2–6hr length have been digitized and analysed.
This paper includes results of the last array in south-western Finland, a comparison of two methods of induction vector estimation and combination of results from all the arrays. Four zones of anomalously high electrical conductivity have been observed. They are all interpreted as lying at depths greater than 5 km. The 'Oulu Anomaly' is wider than the others and rather short, about 100 km. The 'Southern Finland Anomaly' is probably a 500 km-long narrow zone. This and the 'Ostrobothnian Anomaly' surround three sides of the large Central Finland Granite area. The 'Outokumpu Anomaly' is probably deeper lying than the others. Blocks separated by these anomalies are presented. The blocks have different average resistivities.  相似文献

针对收发分置的MIMO模式阵列天线物理设计时,一个等效阵列可由多种物理收发阵列实现的病态问题,从测绘角度切入,依据等效相位中心原理,分析了ARTINO系统不同收发组合的优缺点。引入测绘应用关心的波段、分辨率、高程精度及工作高度等要求,优化设计了真实测绘航空平台的MIMO下视阵列SAR线阵阵元的数目和位置矢量。根据该配置进行了仿真实验,通过三维成像结果和原始仿真场景的差分对比,高程重建误差均值和标准差,以及整个场景和单独建筑物区域误差在半分辨率之内的概率值,证明了优化阵列配置的合理性和有效性。  相似文献

The application of standard array processing techniques to the study of coda presents difficulties due to the design criteria of these techniques. Typically the techniques are designed to analyze isolated, short arrivals with definite phase velocity and azimuth and have been useful in the frequency range around 1 Hz. Coda is long in time and may contain waves of different types, phase velocities and azimuths. Nonetheless, it has proved possible to use or adapt array methods to answer two questions: what types of waves are present in coda and where are they scattered? Most work has been carried out on teleseismicP coda; work on local coda has lagged due to lack of suitable data and the difficulties of dealing with high frequencies. The time domain methods of beamforming and Vespagram analysis have shown that there is coherent energy with a high phase velocity comparable toP orPP in teleseismicP coda. These methods can detect this “coherent” coda because it has a fairly definite phase velocity and the same, or close to, azimuth as firstP orPP. This component must consist ofP waves and is either scattered near the source, or reflected in the mantle path as apdpP or precursorPP reflection. The Fourier transform method of the frequency-wavenumber spectrum has been adapted by integrating around circles of constant phase velocity (constant total wavenumber) to produce the wavenumber spectrum, which shows power as a function of wavenumber, or phase velocity. For teleseismicP coda, wavenumber spectra demonstrate that there is a “diffuse” coda of shear,Lg or surface waves scattered from teleseismicP near the receiver. Wavenumber spectra also suggest that the coherent coda is produced by near-source scattering in the crust, not mantle reflection, since it is absent or weak for deep-focus events. Crustal earthquakes have a very strong coherent component of teleseismic coda, suggesting scattering from shear to teleseismicP near the source. Three-component analysis of single-station data has shown the presence of off-azimuth arrivals and may lead to the identification of waves scattered from a single scatterer.  相似文献

This paper presents an identification technique to characterize the contractive and pore pressure behavior of loose sandy soils under seismic excitation. The technique relies on acceleration and pore pressure records provided during excitation by vertical arrays of accelerometers and pore pressure sensors. The technique employs non-parametric estimates of shear stresses and strains. A multi-surface plasticity approach is used to model the soil response. A reduced scale centrifuge model and a large scale experiment are used to demonstrate the capabilities of the developed technique. The technique allows for a more complete interpretation of the coupled shear–volume behavior of a soil deposit.  相似文献

多道面波分析技术在近地表勘探领域有着广泛应用,准确的提取频散曲线成为面波勘探成像的关键。文章介绍了一种新的地震背景噪声互相关面波频散成像方法——拓距相移法。该方法在传统相移法的基础上,利用阵内相移对小孔径范围的面波中高频信号进行提取,并利用阵外相移对大孔径范围的面波中低频信号进行提取,然后将两部分频散曲线融合从而得到更宽频带的面波频散曲线用于地下速度结构的反演。该方法在保证对近地表结构进行较高分辨率成像的同时,大大增加对深部结构的有效约束。2019年9月到10月期间,作者在湖南沃溪布设了8条密集测线,进行了1个月的地震背景噪声数据采集,并利用上述拓距相移法提取了0.1~2 s的瑞利面波宽频带相速度频散曲线。通过初步反演其中3条测线的背景噪声数据,获得了该矿区深度2.5 km以浅的地震横波速度结构。经与已知地质资料比对,160测线的地震横波速度反演结果与断层、岩性分界面及矿脉有着较好的对应关系,表明获得的沃溪矿区地震横波速度结构较好地反映了控矿构造、岩性分界以及矿体的分布位置等信息,为该区中—深部找矿提供了重要依据。该研究利用实际数据检验了拓距相移法的有效性,为今后深部找矿提供了一个有效的高精度成像方法。  相似文献

The interaction of regular waves with arrays of bottom-mounted circular cylinders is considered. This subject has been thoroughly investigated in the recent past, but most of the time under the assumption of regular and spatially periodic arrangements. Unlike these authors, we consider here arrays of unevenly spaced cylinders, displaced randomly from a regular array according to a disorder parameter. Focus is put on two effects of this spacing irregularity: reduction of peak forces associated to trapped mode phenomena, and regularization of the transmission coefficient for waves propagating through the arrays.  相似文献
