Application of Dynamic Compaction in Highway: A Case Study 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The application case of dynamic compaction (DC) is realized in highway. In this paper, the in situ tests for evaluating effectiveness of DC are performed on a liquefiable soil and soft soil interbedding foundation encountered
in highway engineering practice. Excess pore pressure, total surface settlement and lateral deformation under DC impact are
measured and analysed. The cone penetration test (CPT) and spectral analysis of surface wave (SASW) are used for investigating
the compaction effectiveness. The formulation of the predicting improvement depth of the DC is presented according to the
pseudo-static mechanics method and is of obvious meaning of soil mechanics compared with Mendard’s formulation. The calculating
results of the formulation of improvement depth of the DC are agreement with the measuring results. The investigation results
indicate that the DC technique is an effective way for improving liquefiable soil and soft soil interbedding foundation in

The 1999 Chi–Chi, Taiwan, earthquake provides case histories of ground failure and non-ground failure that are valuable to the ongoing development of liquefaction susceptibility, triggering and surface manifestation models because the data occupy sparsely populated parameter spaces (i.e. high cyclic stress ratio and high fines content with low to moderate soil plasticity). In this paper, we document results from several large site investigation programs conducted in Nantou, Wufeng and Yuanlin, Taiwan. The seismic performance of the investigated sites include non-ground failure building and free-field sites, building sites with partial foundation bearing failures, free-field lateral spread sites, and free-field level ground sites with sediment boils. Field and laboratory investigation protocols for the sites are described, including cone penetration testing (some with pore pressure and shear wave velocity measurements) and rotary wash borings with standard penetration testing (including energy measurements). Implications of the SPT energy measurements with respect to established guidelines for the estimation of SPT energy ratio (including short rod corrections) are presented. Finally, data for three example sites are shown that illustrate potential applications of the data set, and which also demonstrate a condition where existing liquefaction analysis procedures fail to predict the observed field performance. 相似文献

海床式静力触探设备工作效率高,能够实现从垂向上对地层的连续探测,数据分辨率较好。通过对黄河口海域3个静力触探孔和1个地质钻孔的分析,将研究区20m以浅地层自上而下划分为粉土、粉质黏土、粉土夹粉砂或粉砂、粉质黏土、粉土五层,静力触探曲线对粉土层中的硬壳层和粉质黏土层中的贝壳夹层等特殊地质现象有很好的反映。对粉质黏土的静力触探参数与物理力学参数进行相关性分析,得到适合该区域的回归方程。采用基于CPT数据的液化判别法,对研究区表层粉土液化可能性进行评判,通过Seed简化法计算的周期应力比(CSR)与Olsen法计算的周期阻力比(CRR)的大小比较,得出当抗震设防烈度为7度时,研究区表层粉土不会液化,当抗震设防烈度为8度时,粉土层将发生液化,计算最大液化深度3.7m。 相似文献

Helical piles present a possible alternative to driven displacement piles in the offshore sector. While this type of pile is used widely in the onshore environment, design methods tend to be highly empirical and there is considerable uncertainty around the bearing resistance and the installation resistance required to install large diameter piles necessary to resist uplift. The paper combines a theoretical model for estimating torque resistance from the literature with a cone penetration test (CPT)-based model originally developed to estimate the axial resistance of helical piles and to predict the installation torque required to install piles in sand. The model appears to be able to capture the general installation behavior of piles across a range of scales and in various sand states. 相似文献

Drilled displacement piles (DDPs) are known as an alternative to conventional foundations in coastal areas, given the elimination of environmental impacts and difficulties caused by installation process of driven piles and more consistency with environment. Despite increasing employment of these piles, the extent of research works does not yet suffice the requisites to reach a routine design. This paper aims to analyze six cone penetration test (CPT)-based methods of determining the bearing capacity of DDP. The statistical and reliability-based approaches were used in two parts of assessing performance of the methods with respect to soil–pile characteristics followed by evaluating reliability of the prediction outcome. A database is compiled including 65 DDP load tests with adjacent CPT profiles. Performance of the methods are analyzed. Finally, a reliability parameter, i.e., confidence interval, is introduced to demonstrate a more realistic insight into the evaluations by expressing performance of the methods in terms of a range for possible average values of the predictions ratios, rather than simply an arithmetic mean. The study reveals that the commonly used CPT-based methods which have not been specifically developed for DDP show great potential for design. The results indicate that the investigated methods can have promising performance if some modifications are applied. 相似文献

无论从以往大地震的经历还是未来潜在地震危险的角度,唐山地区都是一个研究液化的良好的实验场,对其可液化场地获取符合国际标准的、代表目前国际上液化势衡量指标发展趋势的CPT测试结果,对积累液化研究基础数据、研究液化前后场地的抗液化性能变化以及发展新的液化预测方法应是有意义的工作。本文采用国际标准的CPT技术对唐山地区可液化场地进行实地勘察测试,得到了锥尖阻力和侧壁摩阻力这两项新指标,提出了可液化场地剪切波速构造,同时利用系统的优势,得到了可液化场地锥尖阻力与剪切波速间的关系式,分析了可液化场地CPT剖面和剪切波速特征。几个方面的分析表明,给出的结果具有可靠性。 相似文献

海洋石油建设中的一个关键环节是对有关海域的工程地质条件作出准确评价。海上原位静力触探(CPT)是主要的原位勘察手段,与陆地CPT不同,其贯入方式主要有Seabed和Downhole两种形式。这两种CPT由于贯入方式不同,所得到的锥端阻力存在一定的差异。采用有限元方法对这两种形式的CPT锥端阻力和贯入模式进行计算分析。研究显示,CPT入土过程中,周围土体存在两种不同位移状态,即滑动状态和排挤状态。在入土初期,土体以滑动状态为主,土体中竖向应力随贯入深度的增加而递增。在入土一定深度以后,土体的排挤状态占主导地位,竖向应力变化趋于平稳。这两种位移状态的相互转化解释了Seabed CPT和Downhole CPT实测数据之间的差异。在贯入深度较大时,Seabed CPT受排挤状态控制,而Downhole CPT仍然受滑动状态的影响。 相似文献
