A method for stratigraphic correlation of several boreholes

The borehole slotting method previously proposed by Gordon and Reyment for two boreholes may be extended to three or more boreholes, but soon becomes computationally intractable. We propose another method based on the mixture model of cluster analysis, the computational labor of which increases linearly with the number of boreholes. This method produces profiles of the unknown strata to which the individual boreholes are easily matched by the two-borehole slotting method.

Polarimetric Study of Comets C/1995 O1 (Hale–Bopp) and C/2000 Wm1 (Linear)

We made polarimetric observations of comet Hale–Bopp covering awide phase angle range, from 18.8 to 47°. At certain phase angles the heliocentricdistance of the comet was less than 1 AU during its pre and post perihelion passages. Oneof the important findings, based on the data in the visual bands, is the higher polarizationwith stronger wavelength dependence compared to comet Halley, indicating the presenceof much finer grains in comet Hale–Bopp. It may also be noted that comet Hale–Bopphas shown highest degree of polarization known so far for any comet and hence fallsin the class of high polarization comets. Polarimetric observations were made of cometC/2000 WM1 (LINEAR)using narrow band (IHW) filters 4845 Å and 7000 Åand broad bands filters BVR during November 23–26, 2001 when the phase angle rangedfrom 15 to 22°. Some of the results based on these observations are presented anddiscussed.

Optimal Filtering Algorithm for Stochastic 2-D FMM Ⅱ with Multiplicative Noise

A stochastic two-dimensional Fornasini-Marchesini's Model Ⅱ (2-D FMM Ⅱ) with multiplicative noise is given,and a filtering algorithm for this model, which is optimal in the sense of linear minimum-variance, is developed. The stochastic 2-D FMM Ⅱ with multiplicative noise can be reduced to a 1-D model, and the proposed optimal filtering algorithm for the stochastic 2-D FMM Ⅱ with multiplicative noise is obtained by using the state estimation theory of 1-D systems. An example is given to illustrate the validity of this algorithm.     

线阵CCD数据的高速采集与存储

在各种高精度线阵CCD应用系统中，需要对像元输出信号进行快速采样、存储及数据处理。CCD数据采集的采样速率不仅与A／D转换器的转换速率等因素有关，同时还与数据传送方式密切相关。以高精度线阵CCD TCD1501D和高速A／D转换器TLC5510为例．详细分析了CCD和A／D转换器的工作时序，采用CPLD设计方法，将CCD的输出信号进行高速A／D转换，并将结果直接存入存储器中。     

不确定线-面拓扑关系的描述与判别

不确定线状目标和面状目标之间拓扑关系的描述是空间信息处理过程中经常面对的问题。在对不确定线状目标和面状目标进行描述的基础上,对不确定线状目标与面状目标各组成部分之间的相交程度进行了定量表达,通过计算这些度量组成的空间向量与9-交集模型确定的空间关系向量之间的相关度,提出了一种不确定线状目标和面状目标之间拓扑关系的描述模型,通过定量的方法来对其空间拓扑关系进行判别。
