Pore flow velocity is assumed to be a nondivergence-free, unsteady, and nonstationary random function of space and time for ground water contaminant transport in a heterogeneous medium. The laboratory-scale stochastic contaminant transport equation is up scaled to field scale by taking the ensemble average of the equation by using the cumulant expansion method. A new velocity correction, which is a function of mean pore flow velocity divergence, is obtained due to strict second order cumulant expansion (without omitting any term after the expansion). The field scale transport equations under the divergence-free pore flow velocity field assumption are also derived by simplifying the nondivergence-free field scale equation. The significance of the new velocity correction term is investigated on a two dimensional transport problem driven by a density dependent flow.  相似文献

This paper describes the development of a finite element method for analysing contaminant transport in double-porosity geomaterials using a time-stepping approach. In many cases, double-porosity models may be used to represent fractured rock formations and fissured soils. A distinctive feature of utilizing this kind of model is that it is not necessary to have an intimate knowledge of the nature, distribution and properties of individual fractures and fracture arrangement since the fracture geometry and details are considered only in an averaged or equivalent continuum sense. The flux exchange that occurs between the fluid in the fractures and in the solid matrix is represented by a linear heriditary process. This has the consequence that in order to carry the solution forward from time t to tt, it is necessary to know and to store the complete contaminant history up to time t. This paper shows that all the hereditary information necessary to carry the solution forward is contained in the values of certain hereditary variables at time t so that it is not necessary to store the complete time history and consequently a more efficient numerical process can be developed.  相似文献

加拿大联邦及Alberta省级环境导则为石油烃污染场地提供了多级环境标准及评价方法。其中二级环境标准评价,准许根据污染场地的实际条件计算土壤和地下水污染限值。环境导则限定了计算污染限值的模型和方法。这些模型大都是基于十分简化的野外条件的解析解模型,并根据导则规定的方法使用,以简化应用与审批程序。这些模型的用途和方法与一般通用地下水和土壤污染物运移模型有所不同,在实际运用时这些差别常常被忽略。同时,在复杂野外条件下运用这些模型时,经常遇到确定模型输入参数的困难。介绍了加拿大环境导则中计算污染场地土壤和地下水污染限值以保护地表水环境的模型方法,强调这些模型方法只适用于计算污染限值的特殊目的,不适用于预测污染物运移或套用一般模型拟和调参方法。结合具体计算实例,探索运用Monte Carlo方法评价与表示模型输入参数带来的不确定性。这种方法用参数变化区间(或概率分布)来表示输入参数的变化或不确定性,以求得具有统计意义的保险污染限值。这种方法简单易行,却将二级环境标准评价方法推广到较为复杂(更真实)的野外条件。  相似文献

Non‐uniform distribution of biomass and the accumulation of excess biomass at the inlet of a unidirectional flow biotrickling filter (UF‐BTF) may lead to severe operating problems including increasing airflow resistance in packed bed, clogging, and low contaminant removal efficiencies, even performance loss. Therefore, a flow‐directional‐switching biotrickling filter (FDS‐BTF) was designed to improve performance such as the maximum elimination capacity and elimination efficiency. Toluene was chosen as the unique carbon source for microorganism. The results indicated that the purification performance of FDS‐BTF was superior to UF‐BTF. The maximum elimination capacity of FDS‐BTF was up to 480 g/(m3 h), which was 17.1% higher than that of UF‐BTF. After a 50‐day continuous operation, FDS‐BTF attained the stable purification performance and the outlet concentrations of toluene could meet the emission standard with inlet concentrations ranging from 720 to 1100 mg/m3 for an empty bed residence time (EBRT) of 23.9 s. The average well color development in FDS‐BTF was higher than that in UF‐BTF. It indicated that FDS‐BTF could improve the metabolic activity, which may improve the uniform distribution of biomass along the length of packed bed. When two systems were shut down, 24 and 48 h, respectively, the time that FDS‐BTF and UF‐BTF needed to restore the former elimination efficiency after a shut down of 48 h were 3–4 and 9–10 h. These data indicated that the purification performance of FDS‐BTF was superior to UF‐BTF.  相似文献

国内湖泊疏浚污染底泥堆场一般以较厚的黏土层作为主要防渗层,由于在上覆底泥作用下黏土层会发生较大的固结变形,因此,在研究黏土防渗层中的污染物运移和转化规律时,应该考虑土体变形的影响。基于Gibson一维大变形固结理论和饱和多孔介质中的污染物对流扩散方程,建立了二者耦合的可变形多孔介质中污染物的运移和转化模型,其中首次考虑了土体自重和生物降解作用的影响。利用所建立模型的数值解,研究了在可变形黏土防渗层中的污染物运移和转化规律,同时分析了模型中不同项和主要参数的作用和影响。研究结果表明,土体大变形对黏土防渗层中污染物的运移有着较复杂的影响,一方面土体变形会加速污染物的运移;另一方面土体固结带来的渗透性减小会增加污染物的穿透时间,二者的不同作用取决于众多的影响因素,如土层厚度和吸附作用等。研究结果对于评估天然黏土防渗层对污染物的阻隔作用有重要的指导意义。  相似文献

Sediments are an essential habitat compartment in rivers, which is a subject to dynamic transport processes. In many rivers, the fine deposited sediments are contaminated with heavy metals and organic compounds. Contaminated deposits are considered as potential hot spots because of the risk of the mobilization under erosive hydraulic conditions. Numerical models for particulate contaminant transport are then necessary and can be applied to estimate and predict the potential impact of mobilized contaminants as an important contribution to sediment management. This paper focuses on the quantification of the amount of contaminated sediments resuspended during the extreme flood event in 1999 and the prediction of deposition one year after the flood event. To assess such erosive flood event, a 2D numerical transport model was developed to analyse the dynamics of erosion and sedimentation processes in the headwater of a cross dam at the Upper Rhine River. The dam consists of a weir, a hydropower plant, and a navigation lock. As the weir is operating only for flood management, a huge amount of sediment highly contaminated with the hexachlorobenzene (HCB) was deposited in the weir zone. Therefore, numerical simulations were performed to determine the spatial and temporal distribution of deposited contaminated sediments as depending on the river discharge and its distribution to the hydraulic structures. The numerical investigation presented here is taken as a retrospective analysis of the contaminated sediment dynamics in the headwater to improve future sediment management.  相似文献
