Vertical distributions of various components of the tropospheric global rotational kinetic energy, enstrophy and available potential energy during July 1979, and the contributions to these from different zonal wave categories were studied. Representative levels in the lower and upper troposphere for the stationary and transient energetics were identified on the basis of different components of energy and enstrophy. The eddy energy and enstrophy contained in different zonal scale components in the lower and upper troposphere were studied to find out the preferred scales for stationary and transient monsoonal motion in the two atmospheric layers. The role of different zonal wave categories in the nonlinear exchanges of energy and enstrophy arising due to stationary-stationary, transient-transient, stationary-transient and observed flow interactions was examined. Stationary and transient global spectra of the aforesaid dynamical variables in terms of the zonal wavenumber(m) with triangular truncation atm = 42 were utilized for this purpose. It was found from the global average kinetic energy in lower and upper troposphere that the global stationary and transient motions were comparable in the lower troposphere while in the upper troposphere stationary motion dominated over the transient motion. The computed zonal and eddy energy confirmed that the stationary motion was predominantly zonal while the transient motion was dominated by eddies. From the time mean nonlinear interaction of kinetic energy (enstrophy) of observed flow it was seen that the long and short waves as well as the zonal flow gained kinetic energy (enstrophy) from medium waves due to nonlinear interactions. The transfer of available potential energy due to nonlinear interaction was down the scale except for short waves in the upper troposphere. The stationary-transient interaction was found to be an important element of the spatial-temporal varying atmospheric flow.  相似文献

In this paper, we have investigated that tilted Bianchi Type I cosmological models for stiff perfect fluid under a supplementary condition A = B n between metric potentials, is not possible. The tilted solution is also not possible when we assume A = t , B = t m , C = t n ; ℓ, m and n are constants for ε = p. Thus to preserve tilted nature of model, we assume p = γε, 0 ≤ γ ≤ 1 (barotropic equation of state) for the case A = t B = t m and C = t n . The physical and geometrical aspects of the models are also discussed. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

In this paper,a nonlinear optimization method is used to explore the finite-time instability of the atmospheric circulation with a three-level quasigeostrophic model under the framework of the conditional nonlinear optimal perturbation (CNOP).As a natural generalization of linear singular vector (SV),CNOP is defined as an initial perturbation that makes the cost function the maximum at a prescribed forecast time under certain physical constraint conditions.Special attentions are paid to the different structures and energy evolutions of the optimal perturbations.The results show that the most instable region of the global atmospheric circulation lies in the midlatitude Eurasian continent.More specially,SV and CNOP in the total energy norm with an optimization time of 2 days both present localness:they are mainly located in the midlatitude Asian continent and its east coast.With extension of the optimization time,SVs are more upstream and less localized in the zonal direction,and CNOPs differ essentially from SVs with broader zonal and meridional coverages; as a result,CNOPs acquire larger kinetic and available potential energy amplifications than SVs in the nonlinear model at the corresponding optimization time.For the climatological wintertime flow,it is seen that the baroclinic terms remain small over the entire time evolution,and the energy production comes essentially from the eddy kinetic energy,which is induced by the horizontal shear of the basic flow.In addition,the effects of SVs and CNOPs on the Eurasian atmospheric circulation are explored.The results show that the weather systems over the Eurasian continent in the perturbed fields by CNOPs are stronger than those by SVs at the optimization time.This reveals that the CNOP method is better in evaluating the instability of the atmospheric circulation while the SV method underestimates the possibility of extreme weather events.  相似文献

本文运用简化的η坐标POM模式研究了东海黑潮锋面弯曲的产生与成长机制。主要考察了在给定的地形下,流核位置和流量变化对锋面演变的影响。当黑潮流核远离陆架时,因其锋区正好在陡的陆坡之上,斜压不稳定贡献减小,此时不论黑潮的流量强弱,其锋面都不会出现如观测所示的弯曲;当黑潮流核接近陆架时,因其锋区爬上陆架,斜压不稳定加强,小扰动能够充分发展并导致锋面弯曲,它的三维结构和观测的结果基本一致。平均波长约为250km,位相速度约为17km/d。扰动成长的主要机制是斜压不稳定,锋面弯曲的主要能源是平均有效位能。  相似文献

在大量实测资料基础上采用小波分析方法对珠江三角洲网河区径流与潮汐的相互作用进行分析,得出如下结果:网河区潮差和潮位的周期变化既有典型潮汐的半日周期和全日周期以及半月周期,也有径流量的周期变化如64.8 d的周期变化,即同时具有径潮的周期变化.不同河段潮差及各分潮波振幅与径流量的大小具有明显的反相关关系,径流量越大,潮差越小,三水站潮差随流量以-0.0002的速度减小,网河区下游河段则减小得较慢.上游径流量越大,因克服径流的阻碍作用而消耗的能量越大,潮汐作用强度迅速减弱,各分潮潮波振幅和潮差沿程减小越快.随着径流量的增大,三水站潮簇D1,D2和D4的振幅明显减小,D2的振幅衰减得最快.  相似文献

文章采用三维海洋模式MITgcm, 对印度尼西亚海(简称印尼海)内潮的生成和传播过程进行了研究。研究结果表明: 1)苏拉威西海和西北太平洋地区的内潮呈现明显的全日潮信号; 望加锡海峡、翁拜海峡、东北印度洋、帝汶海等站位的内潮呈现明显的半日潮信号; 2)印尼海区内潮的标准化振幅在苏拉威西海、望加锡海峡、翁拜海峡、马鲁古海、班达海、东北印度洋和西北太平洋地区均在温跃层附近达到最大, 约为20~40m; 在帝汶海地区在水深200m附近达到最大, 约为25~30m; 3)桑岭、斯兰海、翁拜海峡和帝汶海是主要的内潮生成区域, 内潮能通量达40kW·m-1; 4)苏禄海的内潮能量主要来自于局地正压潮的转化, 苏拉威西海和班达海的内潮能量则主要来自外部的传入。  相似文献

In the context of 1982—1994 NCEP/NCAR wind at 12-level isobaric surfaces on a global basiscalculation is made of the barotropic(mass-weighed vertical mean)and baroclinic components(difference between the actual wind at each level and barotropic component)of atmospheric flowfields,followed by dealing with the distribution features of barotropic and baroelinie patternsglobally in winter and summer,alongside with the classification of global monsoons according tothe surface barotropic/baroclinic patterns.Evidence suggests that the seasonal variation of bothcomponents will lead to the reversal of a prevailing wind between winter and summer,thus causinga related monsoon:the baroclinie flow pattern is indicative of a thermal circulation driven byatmospheric inhomogeneous heating chiefly from land-sea thermal contrast whilst the barotropiccounterpart represents the result mainly from dynamic effects,which is helpful to theunderstanding of monsoon nature.And further study shows that the classical monsoon regions intropical Asia,Africa and South America fall into a baroclinic category,those in the bi-hemispheriesubtropical Pacific into a barotropic type and the East Asian subtropical monsoon generated underthe joint action of both the patterns falls into a mixed category.  相似文献

将长江口、杭州湾及其邻近海域作为研究整体,建立该海区的三维Lagrange正压环流的分阶数值模式,综合考虑径流、东中国海背景环流、风应力和M2,S2,O1,K1 4大天文分潮的综合作用,运用"流速分解法"将环流分为正压梯度流、风生流、潮致余流及零阶环流的非线性耦合流等4个分量,模拟了冬夏两季长江口、杭州湾及其邻近海区的Lagrange正压环流结构.结果表明,零阶环流受东中国海背景环流控制;潮致余流是该海区一个重要分量;杭州湾内正压环流主要由风生流和潮致余流控制.  相似文献

利用1个正压的数值模式研究风应力、黑潮对南海东北部及台湾海峡环流的影响,结果为:(1)以风应力为驱动机制时其流态特别是在台湾海峡的流动具有季节性,但未反映南海黑潮分支的存在;在冬季也未见有南海暖流出现,但在东沙群岛附近海域终年存在着1个气旋涡;(2)以黑潮为驱动机制时,黑潮通过巴士海峡侵入南海海域,并导致东沙群岛附近气旋性涡旋的形成。另外,模式体现黑潮南海分支、南海暖流及台湾暖流的存在,并表明广东沿岸大陆架坡折区底形效应的重要性;(3)以风应力及黑潮入流作为联合驱动机制时,模式的结果似为第1,2种情形结果的叠加。  相似文献

The 28.6 d time series of ADCP currents at 27 depth levels, (11,15,…,115m) which are obtained from a mooring station at the northern South China Sea continental slope, have been decomposed into barotropic and baroclinic components. The emphasis in this paper is on the analysis of the time series of baroclinic currents by means of several methods,such as the tidal harmonic analysis, the power spectra and the kinetic energy estimation.The major results are as follows: (1) In respect of the baroclinic currents, the values of several parameters first decrease and then increase with depth. These parameters include the temporal mean value of the cross-shelf component, the standard deviations, the amplitudes of K1 constituents, the mean eddy kinetic energy, as well as the significant peaks of the power spectra of the cross-shelf components. (2) The diurnal period of the baroclinic currents is dominant. The diumal tidal current rotates clockwise and the major axis of current ellipse is located along the directions of NW-SE. The vertical distribution of the phases of the diurnal constituent varies with the different water layers. Around the 67m depth level, the phase changes very much.At those layers far away from the 67m depth level, the vertical distribution of the phase is relatively stable, but with opposite phases in the upper and lower water layers. For the upper layers between the surface and 67m,the phases are around 300°; for the lower layers between 67m and 115m, the phases are around 120° .(3) The mean eddy kinetic energy of the baroclinic current is quite large, accounting for 41% of the mean kinetic energy of the measured currents. The cross-shelf component is larger than the along-shelf one. The two baroclinic current components correspond to the major and minor axes of the current ellipse of the diurnal constituent respectively. (4) The power spectra of the baroclinic currents show a singnificant period of about 24h, with 23.6h at both 19m and 99m and 24.4h at 55m. The vertical distributions of the significant spectra-peak values of the power spectra of both the crossshelf and along-shelf components of both the baroclinic currents are different. The former increases with depth, then decreases and finally increases again while the latter decreases with depth.  相似文献
