We present an efficient scheme to compute high-frequency seismograms (up to 10 Hz) forSH-waves in a horizontally stratified medium with the mode summation method. The formalism which permits the computation of eigenvalues, eigenfunctions and related integral quantities is discussed in detail. Anelasticity is included in the model by using the variational method. Phase velocity, group velocity, energy integral and attenuation spectra of a structure enable the computation of complete strong motion seismograms, which are the basic tool for the interpretation of near-source broad-band data.Different examples computed for continental structures are discussed, where one example is the comparison between the observed transversal displacement recorded at station IVC for the November 4, Brawley 1976 earthquake and synthetic signals. The method of coda waves was applied to two different sets of data for the evaluation of the relative site response.The first set of data consists of low magnitude earthquakes with closely spaced locations, recorded at a small aperture array of velocimeters located in the Abruzzo region, central Italy. The second set of data is composed of events with epicentral distance ranging from 20 to 300 km, recorded at a seismological network with an aperture of about 100 km located in the Puglia region, southern Italy.Results show that the coda wave method furnishes stable estimates of the site effect. An amplification, relative to an arbitrary site, of a factor of about 2 occurs in the 1.7–6 Hz frequency band for two stations of the Abruzzo network, while an amplification factor of about 0.5 occurs in the whole frequency band (1–24 Hz) for one of the stations of the Puglia network. This station is located in an area which is correlated with a low macroseismic intensity anomaly. 相似文献

In order to consider both the deterministic and the stochastic property of atmospheric motion simul-taneously,in this paper,the weather prediction is proposed as the problem of the evolution of meteorologicalfield.The historical viewpoint of atmospheric motion is emphasized here.Based on time series analysis te-chnique,a stochastic-dynamical model with multiple initial fields is derived.Thus,weather forecasting is sum-meal up as a problem of solving a set of stochastic difference equations.For the barotropic atmosphere,thenumerical solutions of the equations are obtained by using the method of empirical orthogonal functions(EOF),and examples of medium-range weather prediction are given here.Meanwhile,selecting the order oftime series,i.e.,determining the number of initial fields properly,is also discussed. 相似文献

在半地转近似下,用相角函数方法得到了包含纬向基流及其切变的非线性常微分方程。利用常微分方程解的拓扑性质的定性理论,直接得到该方程存在有限振幅的周期波解与孤立波解即非线性正压Rossby波解存在的条件,由此分析了纬向切变基流对波解存在的影响。最后利用函数逼近法求得了非线性正压Rossby波解的显式表达式。结果表明,纬向切变基流对波的影响不仅表现在波的存在方面,而且还表现在波的形态方面,反映了波的非线性特点和基流对波动的作用。 相似文献

The concept of planetary wave breaking (McIntyre andPalmer, 1983; 1984) is critically reviewed. It is concluded that the wave breaking signature is not unique to any particular dynamic event in the stratosphere. Therefore, the classification of stratospheric transport events, such as wave breaking, groups fundamentally different events together. Better qualification of the wave breaking signature and a more solid theoretical basis of planetary wave breaking must be presented if the concept is to be of significant utility in describing stratospheric tracer transport. 相似文献

A method is proposed for the determination of the dispersion equation of Love waves propagating in a homogeneous layer lying over a laterally inhomogeneous half-space. The proposed method can be made to work only when the lateral inhomogeneities in the lower half-space are finite in nature so that their Fourier transforms are available. As an illustration the dispersion equation of Love waves is obtained for one of such media in which the shear-wave velocity and the rigidity in the lower half-space either increases or decreases along the direction of propagation of waves according as the parameter of heterogeneity is positive or negative. 相似文献

本文给出对海城7.3级地震前地震波动力学特征量变化的一些最新研究结果。所研究的地震波包括体波(P,S波)、尾波和短周期地脉动三类。特征量有:体波与地脉动的波形时间线性度和空间线性度,平均半周期,频谱的峰值频率、拐角频率、相对频带宽度、相对频谱峰值、高频段的谱线斜率绝对值;尾波的时间熵、振幅比、持续时间、观测与计算持续时间差及其二阶差分、Q_c值、反映介质混浊度与震源特性的系数a_c等。所得结果表明,三类地震波的上述动力学特征量大都在震前一至半年左右出现、有的在6-10天乃至一天以内出现过不同形态的阶段性异常变化,因而可看作海城地震的中短期和临震的地震波前兆异常指标。 相似文献

利用文献[4]得到的推广的β平面近似式为f=f0+β0 y—(δ0/2)y2,研究由δ0项所引起的一类Rossby孤立波,而不考虑基流切变和地形等因子的作用。经过计算可以发现,当经向波数为1时,这种孤立波具有显著的南低北高的偶极子阻塞结构,它主要存在于弱西风气流中,并且偶极子的能量随着纬度的增高更容易集中(即高纬偶极子结构趋于局地化),因而,β随纬度的变化可能是中高纬度地区偶极子阻塞产生的原因之一。 相似文献
