A data archive of GPS navigation messages

Since 18 June 2007 navigation data messages transmitted by the GPS constellation are recorded by five receivers within GeoForschungsZentrum’s global groundstation network. We describe the recording, processing, validation, analysis and archiving of the navigation data. During the 197 days between 18 June 2007 and 31 December 2007 a total of 125,723,666 subframes were collected. By taking into consideration that the same data set frequently is observed by two or more receivers concurrently, 65,153,955 unique subframes could be extracted from the observations. With an estimated 88,099,200 subframes transmitted by the constellation during this time period a data yield of about 74% was achieved. Simulation studies suggest that with two additional GPS receivers, which are scheduled for addition to the network in 2008, about 95% of the transmitted subframes will be retrieved. The message data archive is open to the scientific community for non-commercial purposes and may be accessed through GFZ’s Information System and Data Center ().

Software Dedicated for the Curation of Geochemical Data Sets in Analytical Laboratories

Software designed for analytical laboratories to guarantee traceability and accessibility of rocks with their geochemical properties has been developed. The software documents the sample origin, current sample location and the location of any sample subsets (e.g., thin sections, solutions, etc.), and archives all associated geochemical data sets. The software can be installed on a personal computer so is available for use in any laboratory and allows curation before and after publication. The software will be of use in integrating and sharing geological reference materials within and among institutes. In this article, the system design and implementation are detailed. 专项历史地图元数据设计及采集关键问题分析

从分散在世界各地、浩如烟海的历史地图中选取出符合"中国东海、南海及周边国家历史地图资料整编"要求的历史地图,把它们按照一定的规则组织管理起来,是非常有意义和价值的。首先要确定这些历史地图的管理者,管理者所记录的地图资料信息,还要分析这些信息的可用性。利用地理信息系统技术来提取历史地图信息的空间位置,以辅助快速搜寻到符合专项要求的历史地图。根据项目需求确定历史地图元数据的设计原则及历史地图元数据项,建立元数据录入管理系统,快速录入符合要求的元数据以提高历史地图数据库的建设效率。     

Size Matters to Lesbians,Too: Queer Feminist Interventions into the Scale of Big Data

How can we recognize those whose lives and data become attached to the far-from-groundbreaking framework of “small data”? Specifically, how can marginalized people who do not have the resources to produce, self-categorize, analyze, or store “big data” claim their place in the big data debates? I examine the place of lesbians and queer women in the big data debates through the Lesbian Herstory Archive's not “big” enough lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) organizing history data set—perhaps the largest data set known to exist on LGBTQ activist history—as one such alternative. In a contribution to critical data studies, I take a queer feminist approach to the scale of big data by reading for the imbricated scales and situated knowledge of data.     

新时期专业档案归档问题与对策---以测绘地理信息档案为例北大核心CSCD

本文从规章制度和归档技术两方面综述了专业档案归档的发展现状,并以测绘地理信息档案为例,指出当前专业档案归档工作存在的问题,提出了加强专业档案归档工作的具体措施建议,从源头上加强专业档案归档工作,实现专业档案完整、系统、规范的归档。最后对专业档案归档工作做了展望,提出了加强专业档案归档的技术途径。     

浅谈地质档案信息化建设

随着信息技术的发展,档案信息化已成为国家信息化建设的重要内容。针对当前地勘单位档案管理的现状及档案信息化建设进程中存在的人员素质、设备投入等一系列管理问题,指出地质档案信息化建设不但需要各级领导部门的高度重视,更需要档案管理人员更新观念,提高认识。实现地质档案信息化管理既要提高从业人员的素质和技能,又要充分利用现代网络技术。地质档案信息化建设要根据本行业的具体规定,开发的地质档案信息化系统要以提高档案管理效率和服务质量为宗旨,确保最大限度的满足地质档案信息资源共享的要求。

从勘察设计企业对档案利用需求出发,按照现代企业制度要求,研究建立一套突出高效利用的、以企业数字档案为资源的知识管理服务体系,从构建数字档案结构化数据库开始,依托网络环境和技术,提出系统解决方案,对企业档案的深度发掘利用进行创新探索。
