We derive analytic expressions for the leading-order corrections to the polarization induced in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) owing to scattering of photons off hot electrons in galaxy clusters along the line of sight. For a thermal distribution of electrons with kinetic temperature k B T e ∼10 keV and bulk peculiar velocity V ∼1000 km s−1 , the dominant corrections to the polarization induced by the primordial CMB quadrupole and the cluster peculiar velocity arise from electron thermal motion and are at the level of ∼10 per cent in each case, near the peak of the polarization signal. When more sensitive measurements become feasible, these effects will be significant for the determination of transverse peculiar velocities, and the value of the CMB quadrupole at the cluster redshift, via the cluster polarization route. 相似文献

传统的高光谱分类通常仅考虑单一像元的光谱或纹理特征,分类后容易出现地物破碎的现象。鉴于此,本文提出了一种面向对象的混合分类方法,将面向对象的分割结果与传统的像元级分类结果进行有机融合,充分利用对象的光谱特征和空间结构特征。在此基础上,引入了2种具体的混合分类方法,即多尺度分割的SVM分类和多波段分水岭分割的SVM分类。前者将地物光谱的可变性进行弱化处理,转化为多尺度均质对象单元进行分类;后者融入了地物的空间信息和形态学特征,对分割得到的同质区域进行分类。将这2种分类方法应用于航空高光谱数据,实验结果表明:面向对象的混合分类方法的总体精度分别为92.63%和96.13%,与传统的像元级分类法相比,分别提高了10.14%和13.64%,有效地解决了分类后地物的破碎现象。 相似文献

Some problems of the two-photon decay of highly excited atomic hydrogen and helium levels are considered. The necessary accuracy of calculating the transition probabilities is shown to require abandoning the purely dipole approximation in the theory of atomic hydrogen radiation. The range of applicability of the perturbation theory to this process is discussed. We suggest a new mechanism of the Lyman photon redistribution due to very close locations of the 20P and 19P levels in the hydrogen and deuterium atoms, respectively (hydrogen-deuterium resonance). 相似文献

QUaD is a 31 pixel array of polarization sensitive bolometer pairs coupled to a 2.6 m Cassegrain radio telescope. The telescope is attached to the mount originally built for the DASI experiment and located at the South Pole. The telescope system is described along with details of instrumental characterization studies which we have performed. A first season of CMB observations is complete and the second season underway. Fast heuristically weighted, or pseudo-Cℓ, estimators are a frequently used method for estimating power spectra in CMB surveys with large numbers of pixels. Recently, Challinor and Chon showed that the E–B mixing in these estimators can become a dominant contaminant at low noise levels, ultimately limiting the gravity wave signal which can be detected on a finite patch of sky. The quality of CMB observations has improved dramatically in the last few years, and will continue to do so in the coming decade. Over a wide range of angular scales, the uncertainty due to instrumental noise is now small compared to the cosmic variance. One may claim with some justification that we have entered the era of precision CMB cosmology. However, some caution is still warranted: The errors due to residual foreground contamination in the CMB power spectrum and cosmological parameters remain largely unquantified, and the effect of these errors on important cosmological parameters such as the optical depth τ and spectral index ns is not obvious. A major goal for current CMB analysis efforts must therefore be to develop methods that allow us to propagate such uncertainties from the raw data through to the final products. Here we review a recently proposed method that may be a first step towards that goal. 相似文献
