So far, the nature and evolution of the lower crust under central Spain have been constrained mainly on the basis of a heterogeneous suite of granulite xenoliths from the Spanish Central System (SCS). In recent years, ultramafic volcanics from the Calatrava Volcanic Field (CVF) have also provided deep-seated crustal xenoliths which have not been studied in detail. Our data, combining mineral, whole-rock and isotopic geochemistry with U–Pb–Hf isotope ratios in zircons from the CVF and SCS xenoliths, highlight the felsic composition of the lower crust under central Iberia. A number of the Calatrava xenoliths represents Variscan igneous protoliths, which are a minor population in the SCS, and were likely formed by crystallisation of intermediate and felsic melts in the lower crust during the Variscan orogeny (leucodiorite protolith age of 314 ± 3 Ma and leucogranite protolith age of 308 ± 2.5 Ma). U–Pb data of metamorphic zircons show that granulite-facies metamorphism mainly occurred from 299 to 285 Ma in both areas. These ages are slightly younger than those of granitic intrusions that could be genetically related to the granulitic residue, which points to a main role of U–Pb isotope resetting in lower crustal zircons during HT or UHT conditions. The zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopic ratios support the idea that the lower crust in central Iberia consists mainly of Ordovician–Neoproterozoic metaigneous and metasedimentary rocks associated with the Cadomian continental arc of northern Gondwana. These rocks provide evidence of mixing between juvenile magmas and an enriched crustal component, ultimately extracted from an Eburnean crust. Other more evolved components present in detrital zircons are likely related to recycling of Archean crust derived from North Africa cratonic terranes.  相似文献

We report whole-rock geochemistry and Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic compositions of mafic dykes intruded in the Precambrian granito-gneissic basement complex, exposed at Nyos, Batibo, Dschang and Foumban on the Cameroon Line. The dykes are alkaline (Batibo), transitional (Foumban), and subalkaline (Nyos, Batibo and Dschang) with SiO2 of 45–54 wt% and MgO of 2–9 wt%, similar to dykes reported in other areas of the Cameroon Line (CL) and the Central Atlantic Magmatic Province (CAMP). The abundances of rare earth elements (REE) and the Primitive Mantle normalised patterns for the Nyos, Batibo and Dschang dykes are similar to those of MORB, indicating that the dykes formed at shallower depths by a higher degree of partial melting relative to the Foumban dykes and the alkaline lavas of the CL. The transitional basaltic dykes with steeper REE patterns have their sources at deeper levels in the lithospheric mantle, possibly the garnet-spinel transition zone and were generated by a lower degree partial melting of the lithospheric and plume components. The Nyos and Batibo subalkaline dykes show similar isotopic compositions with a spectrum extending from depleted (DMM-like) to enriched (EM1-like) mantle, indicating the similarity in their source components. The Dschang dykes show distinct isotopic characteristics with relatively unradiogenic Nd-Pb isotope compositions compared to the Batibo and Nyos dykes. The Foumban transitional dykes with characteristic wide ranges in Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic compositions reveal varying contributions from enriched mantle components (EM1 and EM2) in addition to its plume signature similar to those of CL lavas. The Nyos and Batibo dykes alongside other dykes on the CL have low TiO2 abundances (<2 wt%), negative PM-normalised Nb-anomalies, and moderately to strongly enriched REE patterns, and isotopic composition that overlaps with those of CAMP, suggesting a similar lithospheric origin.  相似文献

洪加(Hunga)火山位于新西兰—克马德克—斐济俯冲带,该火山于2021年末又开始活动,并在2022年1月14、15日发生了千年一遇的世纪大喷发。喷发柱穿进平流层,形成了一个最高30 km、最宽800 km的蘑菇云,后期的气体火山灰云团几乎环绕南半球一周。喷发所引起的海啸在太平洋沿岸多地造成了灾害。根据现有的资料分析,洪加火山岩浆成分以安山岩为主,岩浆可能是沿着破火山口边缘由富气岩浆团块的“渗漏”驱动喷发的。这次洪加火山大喷发的一个最重要特征是喷发时产生了极为强烈的大气冲击波,这代表了岩浆内火山气体的极大富集。正是这种“超级富气岩浆”的喷发在喷火口位置形成了远超0.1 MPa(1 标准大气压)的出口压强,引发了向全球辐射的冲击波和数千千米以外都能听到的喷发声响。本次火山喷发引发海啸的机制,其一是爆炸冲击波,向外扩张的冲击波推动了海面表层海水的向外扩张;其二是苏特塞式(Surtseyan)喷发本身就有向外排走海水的能力。未来洪加火山喷发形式,很可能是沿着破火山口周边断裂或靠近破火山口中央谷地的熔岩穹丘或熔岩流。苏特塞式喷发会比较常见,但喷发规模不会太大。  相似文献

磁学可能是南海深海平原古环境研究取得突破的关键方面之一。众多磁学参数中,磁化率是最基本、最综合反映沉积物磁性矿物总体状况的参数,非磁滞剩磁对单畴颗粒含量敏感,而且单畴颗粒是剩磁的主要携带者,结合粒度、碎屑矿物丰度等数据探索南海深海平原柱状样QD189磁化率和非磁滞剩磁地质含义。在磁化率大于45×10-5层位和481 cm以浅的磁化率小于45×10-5的层段,磁化率、2~5粒级含量、ARM和ARM@20m T变化一致性较好,2~5粒级软磁性多畴颗粒含量变化可能是这些层位磁化率变化的主要原因。在808~488 cm层段内,小于45×10-5的磁化率与2~5粒级含量、ARM和ARM@20m T变化总体上一致性较差,磁化率变化机制有待进一步研究。2~5粒级是QD189重要的较粗粒级组分,大体上以深度350 cm为界具有下层段含量较高且粒度变化大、上层段含量较低且粒度变化小的特点。ARM@20m T比ARM更加真实地表示QD189单畴颗粒含量,除了单畴颗粒外,9~12粒级假单畴、多畴颗粒矿物对665~48 cm层段的ARM可能有一定贡献,其中,层段548~310 cm的ARM中可能还有6~9粒级多畴颗粒的贡献。通过碎屑矿物丰度、火山玻璃丰度和(或)磁化率异常峰值的对应关系识别出6次火山活动,火山玻璃丰度的分布特点还揭示出QD189中普遍发生生物扰动作用。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The Ningwu Volcanic Basin (NVB), located in the Lower Yangtze Metallogenic Belt, is characterized by the widespread occurrence of porphyritic iron-ore deposits. These deposits are clustered in three areas within the basin: the northern, central, and southern districts. Our study shows that the differences are existed in geochemistry of the rocks and the mineralization of the deposits among these three districts. Though results of Sr–Nd isotopes indicate that the parental magma of the sub-volcanic rocks in NVB were derived from EMI and EMII, however, the sub-volcanic rocks from the northern and southern districts have higher εNd(t) values (t = 130 Ma) and lower initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (t = 130 Ma) than those from middle district. The rocks from northern and southern districts are similar to EMI in geochemistry; in contrast, rocks from the middle district are close to EMII. Meanwhile, the deposits from different districts show some differences in mineralization. The magnetites from the northern ore deposits are rich in Cu, Mo, Zn, and Mg and poor in Ca, Al, and Ti, which probably indicates that the magnetites from the northern ore deposits closer to hydrothermal genesis than to magmatic genesis, but the magnetites from the centre are closer to both magmatic and hydrothermal geneses. Based on the fact that a part of the sub-volcanic rocks is closer to EMI and another part to EMII in geochemistry, we suggested that the incorporation of the lower and upper crustal materials into the source regions of the sub-volcanic rocks has taken place by different manner and processes. Integrated with analysis of the tectonic evolution of NVB, we come to the conclusion that the sub-volcanic rocks have recorded the geochemical imprints of the subduction of Yangtze block towards North China block during Indosinian Period and the delamination of the lower crust of Yangtze block during Yanshanian Period.  相似文献

华南地区二叠纪-三叠纪界线酸性火山灰的源区与规模   总被引:4,自引:4,他引:0  
华南地区二叠纪-三叠纪之交(Permian-Triassic Boundary,简称PTB)火山灰与生物灭绝事件在地层层位上高度相关,可能是灭绝事件的触发因素之一,对其成因、来源和规模的研究具有重要科学意义。本研究在对广西来宾地区蓬莱滩剖面大隆组顶部凝灰质砂岩岩相学研究的基础上,通过碎屑锆石年代学、Hf同位素及微量元素的分析,结合华南地区PTB凝灰岩和火山粘土岩时空分布特征对其源区和规模进行讨论和限定。蓬莱滩剖面大隆组顶部2个凝灰质砂岩样品中81%的碎屑锆石U-Pb年龄集中在235±2.7Ma~258±4.8Ma之间,呈现出~252Ma的单一峰值;11%的锆石年龄为260±3.2Ma~276±3.6Ma;年龄为294±5.8Ma~561±6.9Ma的锆石6颗;元古宙锆石5颗,最老年龄为2063±13.4Ma。样品中晚二叠世碎屑锆石的Hf同位素表现出地壳来源特征,除一颗锆石值为+10.3外,其余均落在-16.5~-5.0之间,与华南PTB典型剖面基本一致。碎屑锆石U-Th-Hf-Nb微量元素特征显示其具有来源于大陆岩浆弧的属性。蓬莱滩剖面凝灰质砂岩中存在大量粒径0.5~2mm的晶屑,部分粒径甚至达到3mm,这些粗粒火山碎屑物暗示该剖面距离火山口源区较近。蓬莱滩剖面火山碎屑物的锆石U-Pb年龄和地层位置与华南PTB火山灰基本一致,并具有相似的锆石Hf同位素和微量元素特征,表明两者可能来自同一源区。在空间分布上,华南地区PTB附近的火山碎屑沉积岩和较粗的凝灰岩仅出现在华南的西南部,而华南北部主要分布粒度小于0.3mm的细粒火山灰,火山碎屑粒度由西南向东北逐渐减小的规律表明火山物质来源于华南西南缘。近年来,包括海南岛二叠纪花岗岩及桂西南酸性火山岩在内的众多证据表明华南板块西南缘存在一个二叠纪大陆岩浆弧。因此,本文提出华南PTB火山灰可能来源于华南板块西南缘古特提斯大陆岩浆弧。PTB火山灰仅分布在华南地区,在华北、西北等地区均未发现或报道同时期的火山灰,说明与这次俯冲作用相关的弧岩浆火山喷发规模有限,推测其不是触发全球性PTB生物灭绝事件的主要原因。  相似文献

华南东部内陆地区在侏罗纪处于陆内伸展背景已逐渐成为学术界共识,但对于该时期东部陆缘的构造环境仍存在争议。本文以浙东南毛弄组火山岩为对象,开展了岩石学、SHRIMP锆石U-Pb年代学、锆石微量元素、全岩元素地球化学和Sr-Nd同位素等研究,为认识华南东部陆缘构造背景提供制约。浙江侏罗纪火山岩以松阳毛弄剖面较具代表性,总体上是一套以英安质晶屑凝灰岩和流纹质玻屑凝灰岩为主的火山岩组合。本次研究在毛弄组下段获得的流纹质玻屑凝灰岩的SHRIMP锆石U-Pb年龄为153±2Ma。综合前人研究表明,毛弄组火山岩主要形成于180~148Ma。毛弄组火山岩属于镁质钙碱性系列,且表现出明显的轻稀土元素富集特征,其中早侏罗世毛弄英安质凝灰岩Eu负异常不明显,而晚侏罗世毛弄流纹质凝灰岩具有显著的Eu负异常;两组凝灰岩均富集K、Rb和Th等大离子亲石元素,亏损Nb、Ta、Zr和Hf等高场强元素。毛弄英安质火山岩的源区残留相组合可能为"斜长石+石榴石+角闪石",而毛弄流纹质凝灰岩则可能为"斜长石+角闪石",这一差异可能代表它们具有不同的源区深度。毛弄组火山岩的Sr-Nd-Hf同位素特征与华夏陆块古元古代基底岩体相似,其可能主要起源于基底地壳物质的部分熔融,并有少量地幔新生物质的加入。结合构造背景分析认为,毛弄组火山岩等陆缘岩浆岩形成环境为相对低温的"安第斯型"俯冲环境。通过不同时代区域岩体锆石氧逸度计算发现,早侏罗世东南海域岩浆岩的氧逸度比大陆陆缘更高,且大陆陆缘岩浆岩的氧逸度从晚三叠世至晚侏罗世不断升高,可能标志着陆缘地区俯冲流体的影响有着从东南海域向大陆陆缘扩散的趋势。综合分析认为,在侏罗纪华南东部陆缘可能发育一个与古太平洋俯冲有关的"安第斯型"陆缘岩浆弧,其时代可能最早可以追溯到早侏罗世早期,并持续扩大到中-晚侏罗世。这一时期浙闽沿海地区总体处于弧后挤压主导的构造环境,与同期内陆地区构造伸展背景形成鲜明对比。  相似文献

 Investigation of well-exposed volcaniclastic deposits of Shiveluch volcano indicates that large-scale failures have occurred at least eight times in its history: approximately 10,000, 5700, 3700, 2600, 1600, 1000, 600 14C BP and 1964 AD. The volcano was stable during the Late Pleistocene, when a large cone was formed (Old Shiveluch), and became unstable in the Holocene when repetitive collapses of a portion of the edifice (Young Shiveluch) generated debris avalanches. The transition in stability was connected with a change in composition of the erupting magma (increased SiO2 from ca. 55–56% to 60–62%) that resulted in an abrupt increase of viscosity and the production of lava domes. Each failure was triggered by a disturbance of the volcanic edifice related to the ascent of a new batch of viscous magma. The failures occurred before magma intruded into the upper part of the edifice, suggesting that the trigger mechanism was indirectly associated with magma and involved shaking by a moderate to large volcanic earthquake and/or enhancement of edifice pore pressure due to pressurised juvenile gas. The failures typically included: (a) a retrogressive landslide involving backward rotation of slide blocks; (b) fragmentation of the leading blocks and their transformation into a debris avalanche, while the trailing slide blocks decelerate and soon come to rest; and (c) long-distance runout of the avalanche as a transient wave of debris with yield strength that glides on a thin weak layer of mixed facies developed at the avalanche base. All the failures of Young Shiveluch were immediately followed by explosive eruptions that developed along a similar pattern. The slope failure was the first event, followed by a plinian eruption accompanied by partial fountain collapse and the emplacement of pumice flows. In several cases the slope failure depressurised the hydrothermal system to cause phreatic explosions that preceded the magmatic eruption. The collapse-induced plinian eruptions were moderate-sized and ordinary events in the history of the volcano. No evidence for directed blasts was found associated with any of the slope failures.
