The information acquired from Argo floats such as temperature and salinity profiles is used to study water mass properties in the Arabian Sea from 2002 to 2004. An examination of water mass structure at different locations reveals the presence of high salinity water of marginal seas in the Arabian Sea. During the southwest monsoon season, the impact of the early onset of southwesterlies is noticed in the upper ocean temperature and salinity structure over the Western Arabian Sea (WAS) during 2002. Surface density variations are found to be more during the southwest monsoon season due to strong wind forcing. Argo temperature and salinity profiles showed that the winter cooling and the formation of Arabian Sea High Salinity Water (ASHSW) over the Northern Arabian Sea (NAS) began during the second half of November within the upper 100 m depth. In the NAS, the Persian Gulf Water (PGW) salinity is above 36, as PGW moves towards the south along isopycnal layer of 26.6σθ (σθ is potential density) salinity decreases. It is observed that the PGW high salinity water is not continuously prominent over the WAS in 2002 and in 2003. In the WAS the 27.2σθ isopycnal layer depth, corresponding to Red Sea Water (RSW), did not exactly follow the pattern of isotherms as is seen in the northern and eastern Arabian Sea. The variability related to RSW salinity is due to the underwater currents. The present study also confirms that RSW is prominent in the southeast Arabian Sea at the potential density of 27.2 with a maximum in summer monsoon compared to other seasons. The observed peak in the salinity at 27.2 density level during the spring intermonsoon is due to the influence of winter time spreading of RSW to the south of Socotra in 2002. Westward movement of Argo floats in the region east of Socotra during the winter is evident in both the observations and model studies. Water mass properties change when they move away from their source region due to the consistent horizontal advection. The changes in the water mass properties along the Argo float trajectory are confirmed by comparing with the climatological mean monthly values from the World Ocean Atlas 2001 data set. 相似文献

为研究西宁市PM10的区域性污染特征,对2006年3月至2010年2月各季逐日大气污染指数(API,首要污染物为PM10)进行统计分析。利用后向轨迹模型(HYSPLIT Model)对西宁市典型污染日(API > 200)中气团的后向轨迹进行模拟,研究PM10的运动轨迹和区域性污染的可能来源。结果表明:西宁市一年中春季(集中于3月和4月)PM10污染严重,与该季节气团对颗粒物的长距离输送有关。造成西宁市重污染状况的主要天气是风沙尘,北部和西北部的沙漠地区是主要风沙源;相邻城市PM10污染峰值的提前与滞后,体现出区域性污染的传输过程。 相似文献

A three-dimensional regional Eulerian model of sulfur deposition and transport is developed. Processes treated in the model include emission, transport, diffusion, gas-phase and aqueous-phase chemical process, dry deposition, rainout and washout or sulfur. A “looking up table” method is provided to deal with the gas-phase chemical process including sulfur transfer. Dry-depositon velocity considers the influence of underlying surface, wind, degree of stabil-ity by parameterization. Model calculated values reasonably agrees with observation. Distribution of sulfur deposi-tion and transport in East Asia are also analyzed in this paper. Some amount of sulfur emission of different countries transport across boundaries, but the main origin of sulfur deposition in each country in East Asia is from itself. Furthermore, some transport paths on different layers and outlet or inlet zones are found. According to sulfur bal?ance and budget we concluded that sulfur outlets are bigger than inlets across boundary and emissions are more than deposition in most places of East Asia. 相似文献

利用NCEP/NCAR(美国国家环境预报中心/国家大气研究中心)的全球预报系统(GFS)再分析资料、欧洲气象中心(ERA-interim)资料以及中国气象局观测站点的实况降水观测结合CMORPH卫星反演降水资料,对2014年第10号台风Matmo生成后西北行并登陆台湾及福建过程中的特征进行了分析,揭示出Matmo移动路径主要受西太平洋副热带高压(简称西太副高)外围引导气流影响。动、热力物理量场分析表明,Matmo在登陆福建前后,福建上空一直维持深厚的涡旋结构,福建东南部上空的上升区与台湾海峡及福建西部附近的下沉运动区形成明显的垂直环流圈。同时,南海上空有明显的西南急流(风速大于16 m s-1),Matmo的水汽来源主要有两条,分别为孟加拉湾和南海以及西太副高南侧。充足的水汽输送及低层水汽辐合抬升有利于Matmo登陆后的强降水发生和维持。Matmo登陆福建后仍然保持低层辐合、高层辐散,有利于持续暴雨的发生。Matmo登陆福建期间始终处于风速垂直切变小值区(小于9 m s-1)中,环境风速的弱垂直切变有利于Matmo暖心结构及高空辐散形势的维持,是Matmo在登陆后依然能维持自身强度不衰减的原因之一。 相似文献

Energy and mobility poverty limits people’s choices and opportunities and negatively impinges upon structural economic and social welfare patterns. It also hampers the ability of planners to implement more equitable and just decarbonization pathways. Research has revealed that climate policies have imposed a financial burden on low-income and other vulnerable groups by increasing food and energy prices, leading as well to global inequality. Similarly, researchers have warned that in developing countries, emission mitigation policies could increase poverty rates and even frustrate progress towards universal access to clean energy. This research explores whether low-income social groups experience a 'double energy vulnerability', a situation that simultaneously positions people at heightened risk of transport and energy poverty. We investigate this 'double vulnerability' through original data collection via three nationally representative surveys of Mexico (N = 1,205), the United Arab Emirates (N = 1,141), Ireland and Northern Ireland (N = 1,860). We draw from this original data to elaborate on the sociodemographic attributes, expenditure and behaviour emerging from energy and transport use, focusing on themes such as equity, behaviour and vulnerability. We propose energy and transport poverty indexes that allow us to summarize the key contributing factors to energy and transport poverty in the countries studied and uncover a strong correlation between these two salient forms of poverty. Our results suggest that energy and transport poverty are common issues regardless of the very different national, and even sub-national, contexts. We conclude that energy and transport poverty requires target policy interventions suitable for all segments of society, thus enabling contextually-tailored, just energy transitions. 相似文献

In the past few years, Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has been produced on a large scale and has been widely used because of its excellent optical properties and physicochemical stability. It is easy to ignore the risk of g-C3N4 transport in the environment, including soil and groundwater, due to the non-toxicity of metals. Based on this situation, we investigated the effects of pumping flow rate, ionic strength, and the presence of lead (Pb) on the transport behavior of g-C3N4 in quartz sand, montmorillonite, and humic acid-coated sand through column experiments. The retention of g-C3N4 in the media and the adsorption mechanism of Pb onto g-C3N4 were analyzed by FTIR and XPS. The results showed that fast flow rate and low ionic strength were favorable conditions for the transport of g-C3N4. The cotransport experiment results showed that Pb reduced the outflow of g-C3N4 by more than 50%. Contrarily, 6.95%, 0.43%, and 11.01% Pb were hindered in quartz sand, montmorillonite, and humic acid-coated sand due to the presence of g-C3N4. Compared with the uncontaminated media, the recoveries of g-C3N4 in Pb contaminated quartz sand, montmorillonite, and humic acid-coated sand were reduced by 0.34%, 5.86%, and 15.34%, respectively. Concomitantly, which were attributed to the special triazine ring structure and the abundant bonding modes with soil components and Pb, g-C3N4 particles were easier to deposit in montmorillonite and humic acid-coated sand, and could be used as the carrier to release 6.70% and 5.64% Pb from contaminated quartz sand and humic acid-coated sand. 相似文献
