The present study solves a two-layer atmospheric wave equation model with a lower atmosphere concave wind profile and cold-air outbreak over sea, while simultaneously proving that such a wind shear may cause neutral boundary layer roll vortices in the presence of disturbing sources upstream. Without thermal effects, the wind shear-induced waves have band structures at the top of the boundary layer that are similar to cloud street patterns observed over sea. This study proves that dynamic and thermal effects can act independently to initiate the roll vortices in the lower atmosphere. At the same time, a quantitative comparison shows that dynamic effects play a large role in the formation of roll vortices in the initial stage of cold-air outbreak and will be surpassed by thermal effects soon after surface heating commences. 相似文献

The association of typhoon tracks over the western Pacific with the low-frequency wind-field pattern of atmospheric intraseasonal (30-60 days) oscillation at 850 hPa is further studied by using observational data analyses. Comparative analyses of the composite wind fields at 850 hPa, contrasting the atmospheric intraseasonal oscillation (ISO) with the original circulation, show that the typhoon tracks are closely related to the wind pattern of the ISO but are not obviously related to the original wind fields. Case studies of two typhoons in 2006 also show that the low-frequency wind-field pattern, particularly the maximum-value line (belt) of low-frequency cyclonic vorticity at 850 hPa, is closely related to the typhoon track. Therefore, the low-frequency circulation pattern and the maximum-value line (belt) of low-frequency cyclonic vorticity at 850hPa can be used to predict typhoon tracks over the northwestern Pacific. 相似文献

对2008年7月21日重庆市一次强对流天气过程进行诊断分析,通过分析天气背景,雷达回波,并应用四维变分同化方法反演风场,研究了强对流天气的发展机制.结果表明:高层冷空气入侵和中低层低涡系统强盛的暖湿气流形成的辐合切变是发生强对流的主要原因.雷达观测具有明显的弱回波区和"逆风区";反演水平风场表现为低层强回波前部有一条辐合上升带,到中层辐合上升带与强回波区重合,高层则对应辐散区;从风场的垂直剖面来看,强对流后部为入流区,到达中部后,形成强烈的上升气流,低层辐合带和强烈的上升气流形成强回波.在前部弱回波区处存在强降水下落形成的出流,该气流与暖湿气流辐合造成了浅薄的出流边界. 相似文献

利用NCEP 1°×1°再分析资料以及常规观测的地面和高空资料,应用螺旋度和非地转湿Q矢量原理,对2000年7月9~15日一例东移高原低涡产生强降水过程进行了天气动力学诊断分析.结果表明:500 bPa z-螺旋度水平分布对低涡中心的移动、降水落区和强降水中心的分布具有较好指示性,强降水中心发生在500 hPa z-螺旋度梯度值最大的区域.z-螺旋度分布能较好地反映暴雨发生时大气的动力学特征,暴雨区上空,高层负涡度辐散与低层正涡度辐合相配合,是触发暴雨的动力机制.相对螺旋度更能全面地反映降水落区及降水中心分布情况,并对未来6 h后的降水落区及走向具有较好的预报性,强降水中心发生在相对螺旋度正、负中心连线梯度最大值的正值一侧.低层非地转湿Q矢量散度的辐合区与降水区相对应,辐合中心与强降水中心基本吻合,是降水落区定性诊断分析的有力工具;湿Q矢量散度的垂直分布对未来6 h降水的落区和移动预报提供了很好的参考信息. 相似文献

基于与NCEP资料结果的比较,研究了中国科学院大气物理研究所大气科学和地球流体力学数值模拟国家重点实验室发展的大气环流模式SAMIL对夏季南亚季风区季节内振荡(ISO)向北传播特征的模拟,并结合目前对ISO北传机制的理解对模拟结果进行了分析讨论。SAMIL在夏季南亚地区模拟出相当强度的季节内振荡的活动,并且模拟的ISO也表现出与NCEP资料相似的从赤道向北传播的特征,但传播的速度要慢于NCEP资料的结果。模拟的北传ISO具有与NCEP资料相似的结构特征,涡度和水汽场明显的呈经向不对称,涡度和水汽的正异常位于ISO对流的北面,最大的上升运动和最强的行星边界层辐合也位于ISO对流的北面。ISO 结构的经向不对称性正是模式模拟的ISO具有向北传播特征的原因;而模式对夏季南亚季风区高低层风场和行星边界层水汽的合理模拟起了关键的作用。同时,根据关于ISO北传机理的已有研究,模式的结果也表明南亚地区夏季风场的垂直结构是那里ISO向北传播的重要机制。 相似文献

Using time evolutions of the relevant linearized equations, we study non-axisymmetric oscillations of rapidly rotating and superfluid neutron stars. We consider perturbations of Newtonian axisymmetric background configurations and account for the presence of superfluid components via the standard two-fluid model. Within the Cowling approximation, we are able to carry out evolutions for uniformly rotating stars up to the mass-shedding limit. This leads to the first detailed analysis of superfluid neutron star oscillations in the fast rotation regime, where the star is significantly deformed by the centrifugal force. For simplicity, we focus on background models where the two fluids (superfluid neutrons and protons) corotate, are in β-equilibrium and co-exist throughout the volume of the star. We construct sequences of rotating stars for two analytical model equations of state. These models represent relatively simple generalizations of single fluid, polytropic stars. We study the effects of entrainment, rotation and symmetry energy on non-radial oscillations of these models. Our results show that entrainment and symmetry energy can have a significant effect on the rotational splitting of non-axisymmetric modes. In particular, the symmetry energy modifies the inertial mode frequencies considerably in the regime of fast rotation. 相似文献

The nonlinear dynamics of a rotating jet is examined following its ejection from a compact gravitating object by a vortex
mechanism. A scenario is described in which a dense stream expands and is subsequently transformed into a nonstationary vortex
consisting of a cylindrical core and a “sheath.” At this stage of development, a converging radial flow of matter in the differentially
rotating nonuniform sheath collimates the jet and speeds up the rotation of the core, as well as the flow of matter along
the jet, in accordance with a power law or “explosive” instability, until the velocity discontinuity at the surface of the
core approaches the sound speed. Flows of this type have low energy dissipation and can serve as unique channels for the acceleration
and collimation of jet eruptions from young stars, active galactic nuclei, and quasars.

The present work investigates the time oscillations of the temperature at several depths of a Martian soil analogue made of two layers of different physical properties. The maximum temperature-time oscillation inside the Martian soil analogue, DT, and its derivative with depth, d(DT)/dz or DDT, can be analysed to understand the presence of a boundary between dry and frozen soil. The maximum temperature-time oscillation, DT, reduces by about one order of magnitude at the boundary between dry and frozen soil if a frozen layer is present. The reduction of DT at the boundary between two dry soils with different porosity is much smaller. DDT decreases by more than one order of magnitude at the boundary between dry and frozen soil if a frozen layer is present. A vortical mechanism for generation of astrophysical jets is proposed based on exact solutions of the hydrodynamic equations
with a generalized Rankine vortex. It is shown that the development of a Rankine vortex in the polar layer of a rotating gravitating
body creates longitudinal fluxes of matter that converge toward the vortex trunk, providing an exponential growth in the angular
rotation velocity of the trunk and a pressure drop on its axis. The increased rotational velocity of the vortex trunk and
the on-axis pressure drop cease when the discontinuity in the azimuthal velocity at the surface of the trunk reaches the sound
speed. During this time, ever deeper layers of the gravitating body are brought into the vortical motion, while the longitudinal
velocity of the flow along the vortex trunk builds up, producing jet outflows of mass from its surface. The resulting vortices
are essentially dissipationless.
