We used an aerodynamic method to objectively determine a representative canopy height, using standard meteorological measurements.
The canopy height may change if the tree height is used to represent the actual canopy, but little work to date has focused
on creating a standard for determining the representative canopy height. Here we propose the ‘aerodynamic canopy height’ h
a as the most effective means of resolving the representative canopy height for all forests. We determined h
a by simple linear regression between zero-plane displacement d and roughness length z
0, without the need for stand inventory data. The applicability of h
a was confirmed in five different forests, including a forest with a complex canopy structure. Comparison with stand inventory
data showed that h
a was almost equivalent to the representative height of trees composing the crown surface if the forest had a simple structure,
or to the representative height of taller trees composing the upper canopy in forests with a complex canopy structure. The
linear relationship between d and z
0 was explained by assuming that the logarithmic wind profile above the canopy and the exponential wind profile within the
canopy were continuous and smooth at canopy height. This was supported by observations, which showed that h

Nucleation phenomena have a great importance in many areas of science. However, the main theoretical tool to analyse these phenomena, the classical nucleation theory (CNT), has known weaknesses. A decade ago a nucleation theorem based correction to CNT was developed [McGraw, R., Laaksonen, A., 1996. Scaling properties of the critical nucleus in classical and molecular-based theories of vapor–liquid nucleation. Phys. Rev. Lett. 76, 2754–2757]. We have analysed experimental nucleation rate data of two homologous series of molecular fluids in terms of this scaling relation. 首先基于1:25万的DEM(digital elevation model)数据、雷达站点信息、雷达波束高斯分布模式和标准大气情况下的波束传播路径计算了雷达的波束阻挡率,并把它与雷达实测的反射率因子分布情况进行比较,发现两者具有很好的定性一致性和很强的定量相关性;其次根据设置的波束阻挡率阈值和波束下限(波束底部越过地形的高度)阈值得到不受地形阻挡的最小扫描仰角在同一平面上的投影,即混合扫描仰角,这样计算出来的混合扫描仰角与雷达扫描方式无关,可用于不同扫描方式下的混合扫描反射率因子(没有波束阻挡的最低扫描仰角的反射率因子在同一平面上的投影)的获取;然后根据混合扫描仰角,利用标准大气情况下的雷达测高公式计算等射束高度,把来自雷达网中各雷达的等射束高度进行拼接得到等射束高度拼图,其中在各雷达重叠覆盖区,取最小的等射束高度;最后利用新一代天气雷达网三维拼图反射率因子数据以及等射束高度拼图数据得到天气雷达网的混合反射率因子,以便用于大范围降水估算算法中的降水率的计算. 相似文献

利用气象观测、高分辨率城市地理信息和卫星遥感数据,通过将气象类指标与城市类指标相结合,开展了北京地区风环境容量指标和区划的探索性研究。结果表明:水平风速和大气混合层厚度两个指标在空间上均呈北部和东部地区高、中心城区和西南地区低的特征;中心城核心区和卫星城的地表粗糙度长度较高,二环内老城区建筑多为平房,地表粗糙度长度小于二环外其他中心城区,形成较明显的空心环状结构;在中心城区外的植被地区,北部和西部山区粗糙度长度明显高于平原区;加权综合水平风速、大气混合层厚度和地表粗糙度长度3个指标,计算不同等级风环境容量指数阈值,在空间上西南地区的房山、门头沟、海淀、石景山、丰台以及中心城区的东城和西城等地风环境容量指数较低,其中二环至四环范围是风环境容量指数最低区域,这与北京经济、金融和商业中心空间分布一致;延庆、怀柔、密云的北部以及通州的绝大部分地区为风环境容量指数高值区,其他平原区多为中等风环境容量指数区。 相似文献

The prediction of wave parameters has a great significance in the coastal and offshore engineering. For this purpose, several models and approaches have been proposed to predict wave parameters, such as empirical, soft computing, and numerical based approaches. Recently, soft computing techniques such as recurrent neural networks (RNN) have been used to develop sea wave prediction models. In this study, the RNN for wave prediction based on the data gathered and the measurement of the sea waves in the Caspian Sea, in the north of Iran is used for this study. The efficiency of RNNs for 3, 6, and 12 hourly and diurnal wave prediction using correlation coefficients is calculated to be 0.96, 0.90, 0.87, and 0.73, respectively. This indicates that wave prediction by using RNNs yields better results than the previous neural network approaches. 相似文献

我国的水运工程建设频繁受到台风浪的侵袭。为了对台风浪的防灾减灾提供有益帮助,本文基于第三代海浪模式SWAN建立了南中国海台风浪数值模型,并以“0906”号台风“莫拉菲”为例对模拟结果进行了分析。结果表明,台风风场与波浪场相似,即大小均由中心向外围递减,方向均为逆时针旋转;台风风场呈圆对称分布,而波浪场由于受到海底地形与岸线影响,呈现椭圆对称分布。有效波高等值线亦从中心向外围递减,且形状受地形与岸线影响较大。对台风浪组成机制的探讨结果显示风浪和涌浪均可组成台风浪,且海底地形与岸线(例如岛屿效应)亦对台风浪特性有所影响。 相似文献

使用参数化初猜测谱算法提取VV极化Sentinel-1 SAR图像的海浪要素并与ECMWF再分析数据以及浮标数据进行验证对比 总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1
The purpose is to study the accuracy of ocean wave parameters retrieved from C-band VV-polarization Sentinel-1Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) images, including both significant wave height(SWH) and mean wave period(MWP), which are both calculated from a SAR-derived wave spectrum. The wind direction from in situ buoys is used and then the wind speed is retrieved by using a new C-band geophysical model function(GMF) model,denoted as C-SARMOD. Continuously, an algorithm parameterized first-guess spectra method(PFSM) is employed to retrieve the SWH and the MWP by using the SAR-derived wind speed. Forty–five VV-polarization Sentinel-1 SAR images are collected, which cover the in situ buoys around US coastal waters. A total of 52 subscenes are selected from those images. The retrieval results are compared with the measurements from in situ buoys. The comparison performs good for a wind retrieval, showing a 1.6 m/s standard deviation(STD) of the wind speed, while a 0.54 m STD of the SWH and a 2.14 s STD of the MWP are exhibited with an acceptable error.Additional 50 images taken in China's seas were also implemented by using the algorithm PFSM, showing a 0.67 m STD of the SWH and a 2.21 s STD of the MWP compared with European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF) reanalysis grids wave data. The results indicate that the algorithm PFSM works for the wave retrieval from VV-polarization Sentinel-1 SAR image through SAR-derived wind speed by using the new GMF C-SARMOD. 相似文献

以分布于青藏高原东北缘的优势乔木祁连圆柏为研究对象,分析了叶片δ13C值变化及其与树高、土壤含水量、降雨量和叶片碳氮含量的关系.研究结果表明:研究区祁连圆柏叶片δ13C值的变化范围为-28.58‰~-23.95‰,平均值为-25.66‰,变化幅度为4.63‰,而同一生境不同个体之间的变化幅度为2.69‰和2.93‰,说明祁连圆柏叶片δ13C值的变化是植物自身遗传特性与环境因子共同作用的结果.叶片δ13C值与树高呈明显的负相关关系(p<0.01),并且这种关系不随采样位点的不同而改变;与叶片C和N含量不相关,而与土壤含水量和年平均降水量显著负相关(p<0.001). 相似文献

Sea surface height profiles derived from 2‐year, repeat track, Geosat altimeter data have been compared with a regional gravimetric geoid in the western North Sea, computed using a geopotential model and terrestrial gravity data. The comparison encompasses 18 Geosat profiles covering a 750 × 850 km area of the North Sea. After a second‐order polynomial was used to model the long‐wavelength differences which cannot be clearly separated over an area of this size, results show agreement to better than ±3 cm for wavelengths between approximately 20 and 750 km. In regions where terrestrial gravity data were not available to improve the geoid, similar comparisons with the OSU91A geopotential model alone show differences of up to ±6 cm. This illustrates the importance of incorporating local gravity data in regional geoid computations, and partly validates the regional gravimetric geoid solution and Geosat sea surface profiles in the western North Sea. It is concluded that, in marine areas where the sea surface topography is known to be small in magnitude, Geosat sea surface profiles can act as an independent control on gravimetric geoids in the medium‐wavelength range. 相似文献

AbstractHY-2A, which was launched on 16 August 2011, is the Chinese first microwave ocean dynamics environment satellite. Analyses of HY-2A daily sea-level anomaly data and HY-2A–Jason-2 (H-J) dual crossover sea-level anomaly differences show that HY-2A has measurement differences that mainly refer to an orbit error. H-J crossover differences and HY-2A–HY-2A (H-H) crossover differences give an estimate of the HY-2A orbit error. Smoothing cubic-spline functions are then used to obtain a continuous estimation of the HY-2A orbit error over time. On the basis of the simultaneous global minimization of H-J dual crossover differences and H-H crossover differences, the HY-2A observation error is efficiently reduced and height measurement data that are more precise are obtained. Specifically, the range bias/trend of the HY-2A altimeter is removed effectively and the root mean square of H-J crossover sea-level anomaly differences decrease from above 60?cm to 5.64?cm, and the standard deviation of H-J crossover differences decreases from 6.68 to 5.64?cm. Furthermore, the rms and standard deviations of H-H crossover differences both decrease from 7.46 to 6.55?cm. The results show that HY-2A after correction has a measurement accuracy and precision that are comparable to those of Jason-2. 相似文献
