Should Women Count? A Context for the Debate*

Much recent feminist geographical scholarship emphasizes the utility of qualitative research methods; yet, a significant proportion of feminist research in geography is quantitative. Geographers' engagement with the ideas of feminist theorists has shed new light on the relationship between epistemology, methodology, and objectivity, which in turn has facilitated a reexamination of feminist uses of quantification. In providing a context for the debate over quantitative and qualitative methods, we argue that each has a place in feminist geographical research.

通过在地震活动区对有关地质体的K—Ar、Ar—Ar、FT、TL、~(14)C、ESR、U系等同位素年代学、地下水及其释放气体的D/H、~(13)C/~(12)C、~(18)O/~(16)O等稳定同位素以及He、Ar等稀有气体同位素的研究,可获得有关新构造运动的时间序列、断层运动的时间、地质体热历史以及地下断层流体运动的许多重要信息。因而,同位素地球化学已逐渐在研究地震成因机制以及监测预报地震中发挥重要作用。     

中国北方沙漠地区第四纪研究的新进展

采用第四纪地质工作方法,通过近十年来的野外调查与室内分析工作,对中国北方沙漠地区古风成沙的分布、类型、特征,沙漠及沙漠化的形成时代、发展模式、性质、沉积环境、成因以及防治对策等方面取得了许多新认识。     

试论地震台站监测、科研、预报三结合

本文论述在新形势下地震台站体制、任务改革的必要性与可行性，认为地震台实行地震监测、科研、预报三结合和将单一观测型台站转化成观测－－科研型台站系我国地震台站的发展方向。文中结合牡丹江等地震台的实践对三结合地震台站建设的实施办法和管理体制进行了讨论。     

初论遥感与地图的融合

本文从方法论的角度论述了地理科学中的地图方法和遥感方法的共同特征,分析了二者之间的差异和联系,阐述了二者融合的两个理论问题(地图和遥感图像的综合与图形识别)和技术基础(地理图像处理),提出了为促进二者融合需要研究的主要内容及具体建议。     

组建云南天文时纬测震网的意义及可行性

本文简要地介绍了光学天文时纬残差在地震前夕出现短期异常波动的现象，认为光学天文时纬观测可为地震短期预报提供有价值的信息。作者认为在地震活动性较强的云南地区，组建一个天文时纬测震网是有意义的，本文讨论了其可行性及有关问题。     

The Politics of Location: Doing Feminist Research at “Home”*

Feminist research methodologies have many advantages over more traditional positivist methodologies. Feminist research is differentiated from nonfeminist research in terms of its critiques of universality and objectivity and its emancipatory purpose. Drawing on my own research on the survival strategies of low-waged women workers in Worcester, Massachusetts, I argue that we need to examine more critically our feminist research methods in terms of the unequal power relationships on which the research process necessarily rests.     

Place Matters: Comparative International Perspectives on Feminist Geography*

Feminist geography is now widely practiced internationally, but its development is usually reviewed from a temporal rather than a spatial perspective. This article assesses the varying extent and nature of feminist geography across countries, attempting to interpret differences in terms of cultural contexts and disciplinary trends. It is intended to stimulate reflection and does not claim to offer definitive interpretations.

复杂性理论与滑坡动态预测研究新思路

概述了复杂性理论的发展及其对滑坡动态研究的影响；在概括滑坡预测研究现状的基础上，分析了滑坡动态预测的研究进展，最后是关于预测的几点思考，亦即滑坡动力学预测的研究方向。
