La Soufri8;re (1467 m) is the active island arc volcano of Guadeloupe Island in the Lesser Antilles arc. Its historical eruptions are more or less violent phreatic outbursts the last of which, in 1976–1977, led to the evacuation of nearly 70 000 persons. The subsurface structure of the volcano consists of calderas, craters, and avalanche amphitheatres nested within the composite pile of eruptive products. Since the last magmatic eruption, dated ca. 1440 AD, the four phreatic eruptions have developed radial fractures on Soufri8;re dome favouring the development of a huge active hydrothermal system emphasized by a tropical environment. After the eruptions, the thermal state and the stable ground water flow are completely disorganised during several years during which the slow mineralization of rocks is becoming again preponderant. Sealing of fractures and decay of rocks permeability act as a cap for upward thermal transfers. Therefore Soufri8;re dome operates as a valve, resealing the hydrothermal system underlying the volcano thus providing over pressurization that could lead to the next phreatic eruption. In 1992 new small seismic swarms have appeared. Several of them are recorded every year while the emission of acid gas slowly increases.In order to recognise the superficial electrical resistive and conductive zones (less than 100 m depth) as well as the cavities on Soufri8;re volcano, we have made Very Low Frequency (VLF) surveys in 2000. Electrical conductive zones are clearly associated with major radial faults starting from the summit in which the hydrothermal activity takes place. In the continuation of these active hydrothermal fractures hot springs are located down slope. Conversely some of the resistive zones are associated with inactive clayed and sealed or opened faults. The distribution of the conductive zones allows detailing the state of the superficial part of the hydrothermal system of La Soufri8;re. The distribution of vertical clayed zones associated with major faults supposes Soufri8;re dome constituted of more or less consolidated blocks joined side by side and lying on the hydrothermally floor of crater Amic. 相似文献

Performance‐based seismic design (PBSD) can be considered as the coupling of expected levels of ground motion with desired levels of structural performance, with the objective of achieving greater control over earthquake‐induced losses. Eurocode 8 (EC8) already envisages two design levels of motion, for no collapse and damage limitation performance targets, anchored to recommended return periods of 475 and 95 years, respectively. For PBSD the earthquake actions need to be presented in ways that are appropriate to the estimation of inelastic displacements, since these provide an effective control on damage at different limit states. The adequacy of current earthquake actions in EC8 are reviewed from this perspective and areas requiring additional development are identified. The implications of these representations of the seismic loads, in terms of mapping and zonation, are discussed. The current practice of defining the loading levels on the basis of the pre‐selected return periods is challenged, and ideas are discussed for calibrating the loading‐performance levels for design on the basis of quantitative earthquake loss estimation. 用分子动力学方法,研究了1999 K下,压力由23 MPa上升到15183 MPa的过程中,CaAl_2Si_2O_8成分熔体的微观结构、剪切粘滞度和粒子自扩散系数的压力效应。在此基础上,探讨压力对剪切粘滞度与粒子自扩散系数之间关系的影响,并将它同微观结构的变化联系起来。结果表明,粒子自扩散系数的压力效应与熔体结构有很强的相关性;压力的挤压效应阻碍了粒子的扩散,而Si-O和Al-O 5次配位体的形成又加速了扩散过程,两种相反的作用相互抵消,造成的结果是在0~5 GPa范围内,Si~(4 ),O~(2-)和Al~(3 )等网架形成粒子的自扩散系数随压力变化不明显;当压力继续增大时,挤压效应占了主导,导致自扩散系数值快速减小。Ca~(2 )作为网架修饰粒子,自扩散系数随压力升高单调下降。压力小于5 GPa时,粒子自扩散系数的大小关系是:D_(Ca)>D_(Al)>D_O>D_(Si)。系统粘滞度随压力的变化与熔体中BO的含量密切相关:BO含量小于域值时,一定范围内BO含量的变化不会对粘滞度产生很大的影响,超过域值,BO含量的微小增加会导致粘滞度值迅速增大。有效应用Eyring方程的关键是方程中粒子跳跃距离的确定,本研究发现,Si~(4 )和O~(2-)的跳跃距离可以通过系统中非桥氧的百分含量来获得。这一发现使得我们能够利用系统中NBO的含量,结合Eyring方程有效进行不同压 相似文献

A total of 13 regional Ocean Bottom Seismograph (OBS) profiles with an accumulated length of 2207 km acquired on the V8;ring Margin, NE Atlantic have been travel time modelled with regards to S-waves. The Vp/Vs ratios are found to decrease with depth through the Tertiary layers, which is attributed to increased compaction and consolidation of the rocks. The Vp/Vs ratio in the intra-Campanian to mid-Campanian layer (1.75–1.8) in the central V8;ring Basin is significantly lower than for the layers above and beneath, suggesting higher sand/shale ratio. This layer was confirmed by drilling to represent a layer of sandstone. This mid-Cretaceous ȁ8;anomaly’ is also present in the northern V8;ring Basin, as well as on the southern Lofoten Margin further north. The Vp/Vs ratio in the extrusive rocks on the V8;ring Plateau is estimated to be 1.85, conformable with mafic (basaltic) rocks. Landward of the continent/ocean transition (COT), the Vp/Vs ratio in the layer beneath the volcanics is estimated to be 1.67–1.75. These low values suggest that this layer represents sedimentary rocks, and that the sand/shale ratio might be relatively high here. The Vp/Vs ratio in the crystalline basement is estimated to be 1.67–1.75 in the basin and on the landward part of the V8;ring Plateau, indicating the presence of granitic/granodioritic continental crust. In the lower crust, the Vp/Vs ratio in the basin decreases uniformly from southwest to northeast, from 1.85–1.9 to 1.68–1.73, suggesting a gradual change from mafic (gabbroic) to felsic (granodioritic) lower crust. Significant (3–5%) azimuthal S-wave anisotropy is observed for several sedimentary layers, as well as in the lower crust. All these observations can be explained by invoking the presence of liquid-filled microcracks aligned vertically along the direction of the present day maximum compressive stress (NW–SE). 相似文献
