波动方程数值模拟是深入研究地震波传播规律的有效方法.有限差分法因其方法简单、精度高而得到了广泛的应用.但其缺点是不能准确模拟具有复杂几何形态的物性界面.因而当遇到起伏地表或复杂构造时,求解精度低.为了准确模拟起伏地形、复杂构造和复杂介质条件下的地震波场,本文采用有限元法模拟二维声波方程.用三角形单元模拟地形和速度界面;把单元内的场和波速均看作单元上的线性函数,以适应复杂介质压制边角散射;采用吸收边界条件去除来自截断边界上的反射;采用集中质量矩阵和集中阻尼矩阵使得显式时间递推无需对矩阵求逆,提高了计算效率.对模型的计算表明该方法正确有效.  相似文献

Two interdisciplinary cruises aimed at relating the ecology of marine fish populations to oceanographic conditions were fielded during the late summer and late winter seasons near Palmyra Atoll (5.9°N, 162.1°W) in the Line Islands. Ocean current and hydrographic measurements revealed interaction of the flow with the steep topography. During the first cruise (August/September 1990) satellite-tracked surface drifters and acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) measurements showed a strong eastward setting North Equatorial Counter Current (NECC) with maximum speeds exceeding 1 m s–1 at 80 m depth approximately. This current turned southeastward on closer approach to Palmyra. The drifter paths exhibited excursions with zonal wavelength of approximately 250 km, meridional amplitude of 25 km and period of approximately 5 days. During the second cruise (February/March 1992), the ADCP-derived speeds of the NECC were weaker (maxima approximately 33 cm s–1) while the relative geostrophic flow component was of magnitude similar to 1990 and the signal of zonal geostrophic currents reached much deeper to approximately 650 m depth (150 m in 1990). Doming isopycnals beneath the surface mixed layer as well as thick (10–25 m) internal mixed layers were found near Palmyra during both cruises, with slightly different positions relative to the island. The discontinuous vertical temperature profiles may have been a result of strong boundary mixing due to breaking internal waves on Palmyras steep slopes. In the immediate vicinity of the island variations in flow speed, stratification and mixing in both the alongshore and cross-isobath directions were observed. Overall, the current speeds were reduced during February/March 1992, the peak time of the 1991–1993 warm event in the tropical Pacific. While parameters of turbulent two-dimensional wake theory are suggestive of formation and shedding of eddies in the lee of the island, no direct observations of circular motions were made in either expedition.Responsible Editor: Hans Burchard  相似文献

The contribution of bathymetry to the prediction of quantities related to the gravity field (e.g., gravity anomalies, geoid heights) is discussed in an extended test area of the central Mediterranean Sea. Sea gravity anomalies and a priori statistical characteristics of depths are used in a least-squares collocation procedure in order to produce new depths, giving a better smoothing of the gravity field when using a remove-restore procedure. The effect of the bottom topography on gravity-field modeling is studied using both the original and the new depths through a residual terrain modeling reduction. The numerical tests show a considerable smoothing of the sea gravity anomalies and the available altimeter heights when the new depth information is taken into account according to the covariance analysis performed. Moreover, geoid heights are computed by combining the sea gravity anomalies either with the original depths or with the new ones, using as a reference surface the OSU91A geopotential model. Comparing the computed geoid heights with adjusted altimeter sea-surface heights (SSHs), better results are obtained when subtracting the attraction of the new depth information. Similar results are obtained when predicting gravity anomalies from altimeter SSHs where the terrain effect on altimetry is based on the new bottom topography. 长期以来海面地形变化是海面变化研究领域里一个具有显著意义却相对冷寂的研究方向,卫星海面测高技术的发展为此方向的研究提供了新的思路、手段和数据。本文利用TOPEX/POSEIDON卫星的SSHA数据对黄、东海1993-2001年期间的平均海面地形的空间形态特征、变化速率的空间分布特征及年内变化特征等3个方面进行分析。研究结果表明,该海区9年平均海面地形的基本特征为:东南高、西北低,由东南向西北倾斜,最大高差超过90 CM;1993-2001年期间全海区均呈现海面上升趋势,上升速率值在5~8.6 MM/A之间,海面上升的空间分异表现为南快北慢,东快西慢。海面地形的年内变化在时间上呈正弦波动,空间上中、北部区域变化速度快,年较差大;南部区域变化速度慢,年较差小;变化空间特征复杂。  相似文献

在详细分析延安黄土丘陵沟壑区的地形地貌类型、斜坡的坡体结构、地质灾害类型的基础上,利用1:1000地形图为底图进行地质灾害的易发区划分分析。结果表明,对该区居民生命财产安全造成重大威胁且防范困难的地质灾害类型为不稳定斜坡(黄土滑坡、黄土崩塌、基岩崩塌)隐患,黄土陡坡和基岩陡坎区地质灾害高且易发。  相似文献

利用法国动力学气象实验室开发的格点大气环流模式(LMDZ)考察了海陆地形高度对阻塞事件的影响。结果表明,数值模式中地形高度的存在与否可以直接影响到阻塞事件的发生位置,使气候态的阻塞发生区域产生调整。可以看出海陆地形在阻塞形成中起固定阻塞位置的作用,也可以加强阻塞的强度,增加阻塞发生的频率。  相似文献

Abstract

This is a broad survey of the interaction of modons with topography in a one-layer, quasigeostrophic model. Numerical simulations of modons interacting with ridges, hills, random topography and other obstacles are presented. The behavior of the modon is compared to numerical simulations of a two-point-vortex model, which proves a useful guide to the basic trajectory deflection mechanism. Under sufficiently strong but quasigeostrophically valid topographic perturbations, the modon is shown to fission into two essentially independent, oppositely-signed vortices. In the breakup of a modon near a hill it is found that the positive vortex migrates to the top of the hill. The resulting correlation between the positive vorticity trapped over the hill and the topography is in sharp contrast with the theories of turbulent flow over topography and generation of flow over topography by large scale forcing, both of which describe the development of vorticity anticorrelated with topography. A heuristic explanation of this new behavior is provided in terms of the dynamics of β bT-plane vortices. Further, it is found that a modon travelling over rough topography homogenizes the field of potential vorticity in its vicinity. This behavior is explained in terms of the induced eddy activity near the modon.  相似文献

Glacierised coasts undergo faster geomorphic processes than unglaciated ones. We have studied changes of the coastal area in southern Svalbard with the glacier bridge between Torell Land and Sørkapp Land since the beginning of the 20th century. The existence of a continuous subglacial depression beneath the Hornbreen–Hambergbreen glacier system has been debated since the 1960s, with inconclusive results. In this study we assess both the subglacial topography and the bathymetry of Hornsund Fjord and Hambergbukta bay. This included ~40 km of radar surveys over the glacial system and sea depth sounding. The extent of the glaciers from maps and satellite images together with digital terrain models and surface elevation data based on GPS profiling were used to analyse geometry changes of the glacier surfaces. The results confirm the existence of a continuous subglacial depression below sea level (c. 40 m deep) between Hornsund and the Barents Sea. The Hornbreen‐Hambergbreen system has changed in shape over the past century, reflecting its dynamic origin and activity, also exemplified by the sequential surges identified since 1899. There was a pre‐surge build‐up event of Flatbreen causing a surge and subsequent lowering of the Hornbreen‐Hambergbreen frontal parts by the 1960s. After, the entire surface lowered, albeit with a delay in the Hornbreen terminal zone. Since the year 2000, Hornbreen terminus has retreated at an average rate of 106 m a?1; ~50% faster than that of Hambergbreen. If the retreat continues at the 2000–2015 average rate, the ice bridge between Hornsund and Hambergbukta will be broken sometime between 2055 and 2065 and the Hornsund strait will separate Sørkapp Land from the Spitsbergen island. The processes and events described in this study, particularly the effects of the glacier surge, may provide a model for changes likely to occur in other coastal glaciated regions experiencing rapid change. Morphological analysis of landforms has traditionally relied on the interpretation of imagery. Although imagery provides a natural view of an area of interest (AOI) images are largely hindered by the environmental conditions at the time of image acquisition, the quality of the image and, mainly, the lack of topographical information, which is an essential factor for a correct understanding of the AOI's geomorphology. More recently digital surface models (DSMs) have been incorporated into the analytical toolbox of geomorphologists. These are usually high‐resolution models derived from digital photogrammetric processes or LiDAR data. However, these are restricted to relatively small areas and are expensive or complex to acquire, which limits widespread implementation. In this paper, we present the multi‐scale relief model (MSRM), which is a new algorithm for the visual interpretation of landforms using DSMs. The significance of this new method lies in its capacity to extract landform morphology from both high‐ and low‐resolution DSMs independently of the shape or scale of the landform under study. This method thus provides important advantages compared to previous approaches as it: (1) allows the use of worldwide medium resolution models, such as SRTM, ASTER GDEM, ALOS, and TanDEM‐X; (2) offers an alternative to traditional photograph interpretation that does not rely on the quality of the imagery employed nor on the environmental conditions and time of its acquisition; and (3) can be easily implemented for large areas using traditional GIS/RS software. The algorithm is tested in the Sutlej‐Yamuna interfluve, which is a very large low‐relief alluvial plain in northwest India where 10 000 km of palaeoriver channels have been mapped using MSRM.
