秦淮河丘陵地区土地利用遥感信息提取及制图

着重论述了使用SPOT卫星遥感图像提取土地利用专题信息的技术与方法。利用数字地形模型（DEM）派生的坡度、坡向等辅助信息，对遥感影像的光谱特征空间进行扩展，建立基于知识的统计分析扩展模型，对不同参数的分类结果进行评价。研究结果表明，该方法能有效地提取SPOT星遥感土地利用专题信息，特别适合我国南方丘陵地区土地利用遥感信息提取。同时，通过地物分层分类信息提取方法和遥感影像数据融合技术，编制了研究区土地利用现状图。     

超谱遥感图像快速聚类无损压缩算法

K-means聚类要求每个像素要和所有聚类中心求欧氏距离，当聚类数很多时，这是一个相当耗时的工作。改进的K—meam聚类算法根据历史聚类结果进行初始类分割，即节约初始聚类时间，又能使历史聚类过程中形成的类间稳定关系得以保持；类内像素只和相邻的聚类中心计算距离进行聚类，随着算法的迭代进行，大量类的状态基本固定，使得聚类速度不断加快。基于改进K-means聚类的无损压缩算法具有充分利用历史聚类成果和收敛速度快的特点，通过提高类内像素冗余度，最大限度消除谱间冗余和空间冗余。采用多次聚类压缩的结果预测最佳聚类数的方法，可实现最小熵无损压缩。通过和DPCM算法概率模型的熵值比较及实验数据的分析，验证了基于聚类无损压缩效率比不聚类无损压缩效果更优。     

克拉玛依一次强降水特征分析

通过分析2002年lO月7～8日克拉玛依地区一次大范围强降水天气，揭示了形成这次强降水的环流背景、物理量及卫星云图的特征，同时对T213物理量产品做了检验分析。     

哈密南部一次极值暴雨成因分析

通过对2002年6月18—19日哈密南部极值暴雨的环流背景、物理机制、T213产品的物理量及卫星云图分析，揭示形成极值暴雨的成因。     

阿克苏一次特大暴雨分析

应用常规资料和T106模式物理量产品及卫星云图，揭示了这场特大暴雨的物理机制和各要素物理特征。     

阴影图像处理在重力资料解释中的应用

简述了立体阴影图像处理方法。对柴达木盆地重力资料进行了处理，分析阴影图像处理的地质效果。     

Tomographic determination of the upper crustal structure in the Jiashi strong earthquake swarm region

IntroductionBetween January and April of 1997, 7 earthquakes with M(6.0 occurred successively in Jiashi, Xinjiang. The continual occurrence of strong earthquakes within such a small area and in such a short period of time is exceptional for intraplate earthquakes. The Jiashi earthquake swarm took place on the northeast side of the Pamirs, where the Tarim basin, South Tianshan and West Karakoram meet (HU, et al, 1989). Oceanic eddies in synthetic aperture radar images

Continuous observations since 1991 by using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on board the Almaz1, ERS-1/2, JERS-1, and RADARSAT satellites support the well-known fact that oceanic eddies are distributed worldwide in the ocean. The paper is devoted to an evaluation of the potential of SAR for detection of eddies and vortical motions in the ocean. The classification of typical vortical features in the ocean detected in remote sensing images (visible, infrared, and SAR) is presented as well as available information on their spatial and temporal scales. Examples of the Almaz-1 and ERS-1/2 SAR images showing different eddy types, such as rings, spiral eddies of the open ocean, eddies behind islands and in bays, spin-off eddies and mushroom-like structures (vortex dipoles) are given and discussed. It is shown that a common feature for most of the eddies detected in the SAR images is a broad spectrum of spatial scales, spiral shape and shear nature. It is concluded that the spaceborne SARs give valuable information on ocean eddies, especially in combination with visible and infrared satellite data.     

Large earthquake-triggered landslides and mountain belt erosion: The Tsaoling case,Taiwan

The 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake triggered the catastrophic Tsaoling landslide in central Taiwan. We mapped the landslide area and estimated the landslide volume, using high-resolution digital elevation model from airborne LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), satellite images, aerial photographs and topographic maps. The comparison between cut and fill volumes, about 0.126 and 0.150 km³, respectively, suggests a volume increase of 19% due to decompaction during landsliding. In April 2002, the cut and fill volumes were about 0.137 and 0.116 km³, respectively. These estimates suggest that 2.5 years after the event, the volume of landslide debris removed by river erosion was nearly 0.045 km³. Such a large value highlights the importance of landslide processes for erosion and long-term denudation in the Taiwan mountain belt. To cite this article: R.-F. Chen et al., C. R.
