Faculty Reappointment,Tenure, and Promotion: Barriers for Women

Women faculty continue to experience academe differently than male faculty. A review of recent literature indicates that women's representation on university faculties has advanced slowly; women are less likely to be tenured or promoted compared to male faculty; and women faculty earn less than their male colleagues. A recurring theme is that the intellectual and social isolation of women faculty affects their research productivity. Gender stereotypes held by colleagues, departmental and college administrators, and students also contribute to the difficulties women face in the reappointment, tenure, and promotion process. A personal perspective on the reappointment process is provided in order to illustrate how isolation and naïvete regarding the social structure of academe can affect a woman's career advancement. The benefits of greater representation of women on university faculties are reviewed, and departmental and college administrators are reminded of the important role they play in ensuring future gender-balanced faculties.     

国内城市新区开发的政府与市场的互动机制与模式 ——以广州琶洲地区开发为例

针对国内城市新区开发不断升温的现象,分析了城市政府和市场在新区开发过程中的动力机制:在政府实现土地升值和房地产商实现利润最大化的驱动下,新区成功开发需要政府与市场的相互配合.在此基础上,提出新区开发的政府与市场的互动模式,即政府规划、投资引导,房地产商跟进与市民参与,并以广州市琶洲新区开发为例,演绎了政府与市场互动模式下的新区开发过程.     

GROWTH PROMOTION OF RED SEA BREAM, PAGROSOMUS MAJOR, BY ORAL ADMINISTRATION OF RECOMBINANT EEL AND SALMON GROWTH HORMONE

Recombinant eel GH and yeast containing chinook salmon growth hormone (reGHand rcsGH) were incorporated into gelatin and sodium alginate (reGH-GS and rcsGH-GS) or polymer ma-trix (reGH-HP55) to protect the hormone from proteolytic cleavage in the stomach. The diets containin greGH-GS, rcsGH-GS, reGH-HP55 and free-reGH or uncoated-rcsGH were administered to red sea bream. Feeding of reGH-GS, reGH-HP55 and rcsGH-GS diets resulted in significant increases in body weight and fork length over those of controls. These results strongly suggest that gelatin and sodium algi-nate as well as polymer matrix protected the hormone from proteolytic enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract to allow the bioactive hormone to enter the circulation and eventually stimulato fish growth.     

五种中草药对海洋光合细菌生长影响的研究

研究了不同方式提取的中草药浸提液以及不同添加量的浸提液对海洋先合知菌生长的影响。结果表明对甘草、黄芩、栝楼等中草药水煮法效果较好,而对青蒿、党参等中草药醇提法效果较好,同时发现上述几种中草药对海洋光合细菌的生长均有促进作用。其中添加4.0%,4.0%和1.0%的栝楼、黄苓和党参浸提液的细菌经过120h的培养.细菌数分别比对照组提高了99.1%、68.8%和68.4%,甘草,青蒿.比对照组提高了10.9%和6.9%,其最佳添加量均为0.5%。     

基于关注度分析的震后防震减灾科普工作思考

地震发生后,公众对地震相关信息的关注度往往会大幅提升。震后第一时间基于公众的信息需求,针对性地开展防震减灾科普宣传教育,有利于提高公众对相关信息的关注度,提升公众主动参与科普宣传的积极性,促进防震减灾科普信息的有序传播,有效抑制灾害负面效应的不当扩散。通过搜索指数分析,以芦山地震、康定地震、九寨沟地震等不同震级的历史地震为例,分析了震后网民信息搜索行为;结合访谈调查结果,分析震后防震减灾科普宣传现状及存在的问题,并就宣传策略优化、宣传素材的积累给出建议,进一步丰富防震减灾科普宣传手段,增强宣传教育效果。

在分析研究东平湖区域自然地理特征,水资源特性的基础上。结合南水北调东线工程利用东平湖区域调蓄输纽的实际,提高东平湖区域防洪标准和水资源承载力。用洪水积分成灾,微分兴利的构想,通过区域内山、水、林、田、路、沟、塘、坝、河的综合整治,逐步实现全部降雨就地拦蓄入渗。改区域雨洪汇流成灾,变流域源头拦蓄兴利。     

信息化测绘关键技术预测探析
