Satellite missions CHAMP and GRACE dedicated to global mapping of the Earth’s gravity field yield accurate satellite-to-satellite
tracking (SST) data used for recovery of global geopotential models usually in a form of a finite set of Stokes’s coefficients.
The US-German Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) yields SST data in both the high-low and low-low mode. Observed
satellite positions and changes in the intersatellite range can be inverted through the Newtonian equation of motion into
values of the unknown geopotential. The geopotential is usually approximated in observation equations by a truncated harmonic
series with unknown coefficients. An alternative approach based on integral inversion of the SST data of type GRACE into discrete
values of the geopotential at a geocentric sphere is discussed in this article. In this approach, observation equations have
a form of Green’s surface integrals with scalar-valued integral kernels. Despite their higher complexity, the kernel functions
exhibit features typical for other integral kernels used in geodesy for inversion of gravity field data. The two approaches
are discussed and compared based on their relative advantages and intended applications. The combination of heterogeneous
gravity data through integral equations is also outlined in the article.

In this article, we model the volcanism near the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada, U.S.A. by estimating the instantaneous recurrence rate using a nonhomogeneous Poisson process with Weibull intensity and by using a homogeneous Poisson process to predict future eruptions. We then quantify the probability that any single eruption is disruptive in terms of a (prior) probability distribution, since not every eruption would result in disruption of the repository. Bayesian analysis is performed to evaluate the volcanic risk. Based on the Quaternary data, a 90% confidence interval for the instantaneous recurrence rate near the Yucca Mountain site is (1.85×10–6/yr, 1.26×10–5/yr). Also, using-these confidence bounds, the corresponding 90% confidence interval for the risk (probability of at least one disruptive eruption) for an isolation time of 104 years is (1.0×10–3, 6.7×10–3), if it is assumed that the intensity remains constant during the projected time frame. 相似文献

This paper considers adiabatic invariants for the classical Kepler problem with resisting forces. The analysis is based on the theory of integrating factors and theory of adiabatic invariants in the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolski variables. The adiabatic invariants are series with respect to a small parameter. Also, for every particular case of nonconservative forces, it is shown that, with a complete set of adiabatic invariants, an approximate solution of the problem can be obtained. In this paper, the dynamic stress concentration and scattering of SH-waves by bi-naterial structures that possess an interface elliptic cavity are investigated. First, by using the complex function method, the Green‘s function is constructed. This yields the solution of the displacement field for an elastic half space with a semi-elliptic canyon impacted by an anti-plane harmonic line source loading on the horizontal surface. Then, the problem is divided into an upper and lower half space along the horizontal interface, regarded as a harmony model. In order to satisfythe integral continuity condition,the unknown anti-plane forces are applied to the interface. The integral equations with unknown forces can be established through the continuity condition, and after transformation, the algebraic equations are solved numerically. Finally, the distribution of the dynamic stress concentration factor (DSCF) around the elliptic cavity is given and the effect of different parameters on DSCF is discussed. 相似文献
