Though rocking shallow foundations could be designed to possess many desirable characteristics such as energy dissipation, isolation, and self-centering, current seismic design codes often avoid nonlinear behavior of soil and energy dissipation beneath foundations. This paper compares the effectiveness of energy dissipation in foundation soil (during rocking) with the effectiveness of structural energy dissipation devices during seismic loading. Numerical simulations were carried out to systematically study the seismic energy dissipation in structural elements and passive controlled energy dissipation devices inserted into the structure. The numerical model was validated using shaking table experimental results on model frame structures with and without energy dissipation devices. The energy dissipation in the structure, drift ratio, and the force and displacement demands on the structure are compared with energy dissipation characteristics of rocking shallow foundations as observed in centrifuge experiments, where shallow foundations were allowed to rock on dry sandy soil stratum during dynamic loading. For the structures with energy dissipating devices, about 70–90% of the seismic input energy is dissipated by energy dissipating devices, while foundation rocking dissipates about 30–90% of the total seismic input energy in foundation soil (depending on the static factor of safety). Results indicate that, if properly designed (with reliable capacity and tolerable settlements), adverse effects of foundation rocking can be minimized, while taking advantage of the favorable features of foundation rocking and hence they can be used as efficient and economical seismic energy dissipation mechanisms in buildings and bridges.  相似文献

This study is intended to evaluate the influence of dynamic bridge-train interaction (BTI) on the seismic response of the Shinkansen system in Japan under moderate earthquakes. An analytical approach to simulate the seismic response of the BTI system is developed. In this approach, the behavior of the bridge structure is assumed to be within the elastic range under moderate ground motions. A bullet train car model idealized as a sprung-mass system is established. The viaduct is modeled with 3D finite elements. The BTI analysis algorithm is verified by comparing the analytical and experimental results. The seismic analysis is validated through comparison with a general program. Then, the seismic responses of the BTI system are simulated and evaluated. Some useful conclusions are drawn, indicating the importance of a proper consideration of the dynamic BTI in seismic design.  相似文献

Novel information and communication technologies have created new possibilities for transferring information and knowledge over distance. Although this might open up broad options for economic interaction, knowledge regarding the effects of these changes on the geographies of production and innovation is still incomplete. Under these circumstances, permanent co-location and face-to-face (F2F) interaction may be efficient in some contexts but not in others. Support by computer-mediated communication (CMC), temporary, and virtual interaction is increasingly becoming the basis for establishing trans-local production networks. By combining results from social psychology with economic geography, it is argued that there is no generally superior spatial fix for economic interaction. Different spatial configurations can be advantageous in different production and innovation contexts, even over large distances without permanent or even regular F2F contact. This paper systematically investigates the effects of new communication technologies and different organisational forms for economic interaction by emphasizing the potential of combining CMC with forms of temporary and permanent F2F interaction.  相似文献

实验研究了嗜酸性氧化亚铁硫杆菌(Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans,简称A.f)与硫化物矿石之间的相互作用,以观察不同矿石矿物发生微生物氧化和形成次生矿物的差异。采用ICP-OES分析了反应前后溶液成分变化,利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、能谱分析(EDS)和X射线衍射(XRD)等分析手段研究了矿石表面形貌的变化和沉淀物的矿物组成。分析结果表明,A.f对同一矿石中不同矿物作用强度存在明显差异,方铅矿、闪锌矿发生强烈氧化分解,而与黄铁矿的相互作用则较弱。这种差异可能与矿物晶体结构有关,在多种矿物并存的情况下,可能发生了原电池反应,作为阴极的黄铁矿受到保护,而作为阳极的闪锌矿、方铅矿的氧化作用得到促进,总体上表现为A.f对矿石硫化矿物的选择性作用。  相似文献

利用“RQV-快速内冷淬火”(外加热冷封式)高温高压实验装置,在100MPa、800℃条件下,以东秦岭地区出露的高钾钙碱性岩浆岩(合峪花岗岩)为实验初始物,实验研究了Mo和W在花岗岩-H2O、花岗岩-NaCl(KCl)-H2O及花岗岩-NaF-H2O体系流体/熔体相间的分配行为。实验结果表明,Mo比W更倾向于分配进入流体相(DMo^流体/溶体〉〉DW^流体/溶体),相对于纯水体系而言,流体介质中Cl和F的存在均有利于Mo和W向流体相迁移富集,随体系内Cl含量的不断增高,Mo和W的分配系数呈线性增大趋势,而在天然花岗岩可能含有的F含量范围之内,F含量的增高将阻碍Mo、W向流体相迁移,流体介质中Na/K(摩尔比)的变化对Mo和W的分配系数没有明显影响,表明体系碱质(Na或K)类型不是Mo和W在流体/熔体相间分配的主要影响因素。  相似文献

The reliability and/or stability of the lifeline structures against failure under seismic loads are of critical concern, and must be studied carefully. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to demonstrate the commonly encountered backfill effects on the dynamic response of rectangular tanks. However, only the exterior wall of the tank which interacts with both the backfill and fluid is tackled, as each part of the structure shows considerable differences in terms of both the load bearing mechanisms and the geometrical and positional differences. Finite element analyses are employed, taking into consideration the fluid-wall-backfill interaction. The analyses are conducted to observe whether or not both backfill and wall behavior can be affected by variation of the internal friction angle. For that purpose, some comparisons are made on vertical displacements of the backfill, roof displacements, stress responses, etc., by means of internal friction angle variations of the backfill from 25° to 40°. Consequently, it is observed that the variations on maximum vertical displacements are affected considerably. In contrast, the maximum stress responses are affected partially. However, the inertial effects of the backfill show that pseudo-static approximations may be insufficient to understand the dynamic behavior of the backfill-wall-fluid system.  相似文献
