Pleuroncodes monodon is an important fishery resource and key species from the Southeastern Pacific. During its prolonged reproductive period (from February to December), ovigerous females are exposed to seasonal variation in environmental factors (e.g. temperature and food availability), with higher levels of these environmental parameters during summer and lower in winter, and must adjust their biochemistry to ensure their own survival and that of their embryos. The aim of this study was to analyse seasonal changes in the biochemical composition of ovigerous females and their eggs. The data show that the content of lipids, proteins and organic matter in the hepatopancreases of females was significantly higher in winter than in summer. Similarly, the lipid content of the eggs was significantly higher in winter than in summer, yet the protein content of the eggs had the opposite pattern with greater values found in summer. Consistent with the ‘reproductive energetic model’, the initial and final energy produced by the hepatopancreas showed significant seasonal variations, whereas female investment in egg production (in absolute values) did not show significant seasonal differences. The seasonal differences observed in the biochemistry, organic matter and energy content of the female hepatopancreases may be related to the storage of energy for growth and reproduction. Furthermore, the seasonal variation in the content of lipids, proteins and energy in eggs is likely related to embryogenesis and larval hatching in function with environmental conditions. Seasonal variation in the biochemical composition of P. monodon has direct effects on the marine food web and also upon fisheries.  相似文献

The banded murex Hexaplex trunculus and purple dye murex Bolinus brandaris are frequently caught as bycatch by bottom trawlers operating in the Gulf of Gabès, southern Tunisia. Although these muricid gastropods might importantly constitute an additional source of income for fishermen as well as help to diversify local shellfish production, information on their catches is relatively scarce. Hence, the present study aimed to assess the status of local populations of H. trunculus and B. brandaris, including data on their spatial and depth distributions, abundance, biomass, population structure and mortality. Fishing surveys using bottom trawls were performed between May 2006 and June 2007 in offshore areas of the Gulf of Gabès. In total, 198 fishing hauls were analysed, corresponding to a total fishing duration of 333.3 hours and a total prospecting area of 1 534 ha at depths of 20–86 m. Altogether, 3 026 H. trunculus and 3 599 B. brandaris of a broad size range (22.9?91.1 and 22.4?97.0 mm shell length, respectively) were sampled during the study period. GIS-produced maps were employed to determine the species’ spatial and bathymetric distributions by extrapolating their estimated fishing yield (bycatch per unit effort), abundance, biomass and mortality in relation to the total area surveyed in the gulf. The results provide valuable baseline information that may be applied to management proposals for regulating this untargeted resource, ultimately assisting sustainable exploitation and long-term preservation of this alternative fishing resource in the offshore areas of the Gulf of Gabès.  相似文献

The narrow-barred Spanish mackerel Scomberomorus commerson is one of the most important linefish species caught in KwaZulu-Natal and southern Mozambique waters, forming the basis of important commercial, artisanal and recreational fisheries. A total of 439 S. commerson were sampled along the east coast of southern Africa (KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and southern Mozambique) between April 2011 and March 2012. Retrospective length-at-age data observed from whole otoliths were used to compare and describe sex-specific growth. Growth rates obtained from otolith-derived data were compared with those estimated from 29 tag-recaptured fish. Overall, ages ranged from 0.48 to 14.6 years for females and 0.4 to 13.57 years for males. Otolith readings yielded an average percent error of 11.21%, lower than recorded in a previous study from the region. Marginal zone analysis provided strong evidence that one translucent and one opaque growth zone were laid down annually. Schnute growth-function parameters indicated significant differences in growth between sexes. Females approached their mean asymptotic length at a faster rate, and grew to a greater mean length-at-age, relative to males. Growth in both sexes was rapid, achieving 67.46 cm FL (females) and 65.4 cm FL (males) in their first year of life. Growth rates obtained from tag-recaptured S. commerson indicated slower growth for smaller/younger fish up until 70 cm FL after which growth was very similar to that observed from otolith-derived data. The results of this study provide accurate, validated life-history parameters for king mackerel that are important for the assessment of stock status in the region.  相似文献

在海洋渔业GIS应用中,用现有GIS直接计算渔区温度水平梯度时,由实际距离问题引起的相对误差达26%、绝对误差达0.124℃/10km,同时还存在渔区格网不规则问题和渔区格点值问题。本文提出了基于SST等值线计算渔区温度水平梯度一种新的GIS算法。该算法的结果优于用ArcGISTIN计算的结果,并可用于计算盐度、叶绿素等其它海洋要素的水平梯度。  相似文献

The evolution of the ichthyofauna of Lake Lugano (Lago di Lugano) during the past 120 years is characterized by the introduction of eight new fish species and by the possibly natural addition of the blenny (Blennius fluviatilis) in recent years. Introduced Salmonids such as charr (Salvelinus alpinus) and whitefish (Coregonus sp.) have established strong populations during the first half of this century, but have declined drastically thereafter. Likewise, the population of the native shad (Alosa fallax lacustris) has diminished significantly. A hydroacoustic survey of the pelagic fish stock of Lake Lugano in 1989 revealed the presence of a dense bleak (Alburnus albidus) population at 0 to 14 m depth. No other fish were found to be present in the pelagic zone. Oxygen and temperature distributions seem to confine the bleak to the uppermost layer in summer. In winter, very few fish were located by echosounding. Growth of bleak and roach (Rutilus rubilio) was difficult to interpret since data for comparison are lacking. Growth of perch (Perca fluviatilis) in the littoral zone was found to be slower than in other eutrophic lakes, for no obvious reason. Possible ways of restructuring the pelagic fish community are discussed.  相似文献

本文根据1995-2010年我国中西太平洋金枪鱼围网生产统计数据,按年和月不同时间空间分辨率对金枪鱼围网渔场进行聚类分析,划定不同渔场类型;同时结合海表温度(SST)及Niño3.4区指数,探讨其渔场类型形成的原因。研究表明,在月为时间尺度下气候异常事件(El Niño和La Niña事件)发生频次与渔场聚类结果类别相关联,在1-12月发生气候异常事件频数分布可划分为以下几个阶段:1-3月、4-6、7-9月、10-12月,与月时间尺度下金枪鱼围网中心渔场4种聚类结果的时间范围具有一致性。通过渔场重心聚类结果和El Niño和La Niña事件分类统计对比发现,在年时间尺度下,气候异常事件的类型与聚类结果相关联,聚类结果同一类别包含的年份发生的气候异常事件具有一致性,即在同一类别下1995年、1997年为强El Niño年;1998年、2007、年、2009年为正常年份;2010年为强La Niña年;1999年、2000年、2001年为La Niña年;1996年、2008年为La Niña年;2002年、2004年为El Niño年。研究认为,中心渔场的年际聚类变化与El Niño、La Niña事件的发生分布具有很强的相关性,因此可以利用El Niño、La Niña指标来预测渔场的年间和月份间的变化。  相似文献

自1998年“捕捞降低海洋食物网”概念首次提出以来,渔获物平均营养级(Mean trophic level of fisheries landings,MTL)广泛用于评估捕捞活动对生态系统完整性的影响,并指导管理机构的政策制定。近年来研究表明,掌握MTL的潜在变化机制对于以MTL作为渔业可持续性指标至关重要。根据联合国粮农组织FAO提供的渔获统计数据,结合Fishbase提供的相关鱼种营养级,本文探讨了全球三大洋14个FAO渔区MTL的变化趋势,并进一步分析不同MTL变化趋势下高营养级鱼种和低营养级鱼种渔获量的变动情况。研究表明, MTL呈上升和回升状态均可能伴随着低营养级鱼种渔获量的下降。此外,通过观察营养级高于3.25鱼种的MTL以区分“捕捞降低海洋食物网”和“捕捞沿着海洋食物网”现象需考虑生态系统的群落结构和开发历程。利用渔获物平均营养级评价渔业可持续性必须综合考虑高营养级和低营养级鱼种,以及群落结构和开发历程的掩盖效应。  相似文献

Sweden and other European Union countries are currently carrying out extensive work aimed at improving the marine and freshwater environment. The adaptive management approaches typically used for this require the development of new policy instruments and measures when needed, but also evaluations of instruments and measures already in use or under way. This paper reports on a study of the Swedish individual transferable quota system introduced in 2009 for the pelagic fishery. The new system was motivated mainly by economic arguments and, thus, the need to get incentives right. Despite this, the design of the Swedish system weakened the intended incentive effects in several ways, compared with the foreign systems that served as models. Moreover, the information needed for future evaluations was not collected, even though the need for future evaluations had been expressed explicitly and the data needs for this could be identified at the time that the system was introduced.  相似文献
