GEOCAB Portal: A gateway for discovering and accessing capacity building resources in Earth Observation

The discovery of and access to capacity building resources are often essential to conduct environmental projects based on Earth Observation (EO) resources, whether they are Earth Observation products, methodological tools, techniques, organizations that impart training in these techniques or even projects that have shown practical achievements. Recognizing this opportunity and need, the European Commission through two FP7 projects jointly with the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) teamed up with the Committee on Earth observation Satellites (CEOS). The Global Earth Observation CApacity Building (GEOCAB) portal aims at compiling all current capacity building efforts on the use of EO data for societal benefits into an easily updateable and user-friendly portal. GEOCAB offers a faceted search to improve user discovery experience with a fully interactive world map with all inventoried projects and activities. This paper focuses on the conceptual framework used to implement the underlying platform. An ISO19115 metadata model associated with a terminological repository are the core elements that provide a semantic search application and an interoperable discovery service. The organization and the contribution of different user communities to ensure the management and the update of the content of GEOCAB are addressed.     

Comparing Measures of Accessibility to Urban Supermarkets for Transit and Auto Users

Research on access to healthy foods often emphasizes the spatial proximity of residents to food stores like supermarkets as a way to gauge overall accessibility. Much of the literature has focused on locating the closest facility, assuming that access to one food store is sufficient. Given evidence that access to multiple healthy food stores can improve diets, however, this article examines how closest facility measures differ from cumulative opportunity accessibility measures across space in a medium-sized U.S. city. Differences in access between automobile and transit riders, using realistic travel time costs, are also considered. Results demonstrate that the two types of accessibility measures produce different accessibility geographies and that there are disparities in access for those dependent on transit. These findings indicate that researchers should carefully consider whether access to one supermarket opportunity is enough and pay special attention to the mode residents rely on to access food.     

基于区位几何要素的省域副中心城市铁路出行便捷性分析——以广东省湛江市为例

采取实证研究的方法,选取邻近中心性、市内交通可达性、国内出行可达空间3个指标,探讨湛江市民基于铁路出行的便捷性。结果显示:(1)湛江站和湛江西站的邻近中心性表现出明显的"重心—边缘"模式。(2)湛江站的市内交通可达性高于湛江西站,且2个站点呈现不同的梯度空间分布格局。(3)省外出行可达空间在不同尺度上存在"区域趋同"与"城市分异"并存的现象,省内出行可达空间则出现了严重的"空间失衡"。     

国内设施种植气象灾害研究进展

设施种植的主要气象灾害有低温（冷冻害）、寡照、风灾、雪灾及其复合灾害等,从国内设施种植气象灾害指标、灾害监测预警、灾害风险及灾害影响等方面对前人研究成果和进展进行归纳总结。灾害指标的研究所采用的方法主要是人工控制试验或对历年实际发生的灾害样本进行分析总结;灾害监测预警方法一般是用设施内小气候或设施外气象条件作为灾害指标,将灾害指标植入计算机系统,对灾害进行监测预警;风险评估多是从灾害的危险性角度去研究,确定灾害的风险概率、风险指数等;灾害影响的研究多集中在对作物生理生态反应等方面。同时从设施种植气象灾害研究存在的薄弱环节出发,提出设施种植气象灾害指标、灾害监测预警评估方法及灾害的影响等方面仍是今后一段时间研究的重点和热点。     

南京市城市老年人出行行为的影响因素

老年人在人口比例和绝对数量上的快速增长将对整个社会产生一系列影响,其中交通出行是非常重要的一个方面。本文基于2012年南京居民出行调查数据,发现相对于年轻人,老年人的日出行次数增加,但日出行时间和日出行距离都减少,说明老年人单次出行距离较短,且主要围绕“家”形成圆形的活动空间;从出行方式构成来看,老年人以步行和公交车为主,出行目的以娱乐、休闲和购物为主。运用次序Logit及线性回归模型,在确定老年人及其家庭的基本社会经济属性之后,发现城市建成环境对老年人的出行有显著影响。其中,城市人口密度会显著增加老年人的日出行次数,但其日出行距离反而有所减少;居住在原单位小区的老人日出行次数比居住于商品房的老人多,且出行距离也较短;说明混合用地以及紧凑的发展模式有利于促进老年人的出行。距离交通基础设施越近,老年人的出行越活跃。大型购物中心对老年人的购物出行没有显著影响,老年人更倾向于在街头小店购买物品。而小区周边体育馆、博物馆等设施对老年人的吸引力则不如棋牌室和公园广场。研究结果对老年人健康生活和科学合理布局城市设施具有一定的指导意义。     

Full‐scale shaking table test of a base‐isolated medical facility subjected to vertical motions

Base isolation is a well known technology that has been proven to reduce structural response to horizontal ground accelerations. However, vertical response still remains a topic of concern for base‐isolated buildings, perhaps more so than in fixed‐base buildings as isolation is often used when high performance is required. To investigate the effects of vertical response on building contents and nonstructural components, a series of full‐scale shaking table tests were conducted at the E‐Defense facility in Japan. A four‐story base‐isolated reinforced concrete building was outfitted as a medical facility with a wide variety of contents, and the behavior of the contents was observed. The rubber base isolation system was found to significantly amplify vertical accelerations in some cases. However, the damage caused by the vertical ground motions was not detrimental when peak vertical floor accelerations remained below 2 g with three exceptions: (1) small items placed on shelves slid or toppled; (2) objects jumped when placed on nonrigid furniture, which tended to increase the response; and (3) equipment with vertical eccentricities rocked and jumped. 通过公路网络密度、综合交通可达性以及关键节点联系便捷性三要素的综合集成,探讨了长江三角洲地区交通优势度的空间格局。长三角地区公路路网密度居于全国前列,北部地区明显高于南部;综合交通可达性较好的单元相对集中于沪宁-沪杭-杭甬沿线地区,由此区域向南、向北可达性逐渐降低;各地域单元与关键节点的联系均较为便捷,上海及其临近地区...     

基于时空影响因子的未来社区生活圈公共服务设施优化配置北大核心CSCD

公共服务设施作为社区生活圈的核心内容,直接决定了社区生活圈的生活品质。对社区公共服务设施建设情况进行量化评价,并对设施建设的未来规划提供科学决策支持逐渐成为规划者和决策者的一大难题。本文通过ArcGIS工具对POI数据进行处理、统计和可视化,在总结他人社区生活圈量化评价方法的基础上,结合温州本地特色,搭建了一套社区生活圈公共服务设施评价模型。利用该模型可对各类社区进行综合评分和分级,并根据模型评分结果挖掘公共服务设施未来优化方向。此外,还实现了社区生活圈评分的动态计算与展示,为社区服务设施建设选址、路网建设与公共服务设施建设优先级评定等提供决策支持。既可帮助规划者和决策者快速建立对整个区域生活圈建设现状的量化认知,又可助力公共服务设施的优化配置,为社区生活圈公共服务品质评价与提升探寻全新的思路与方法。     

山东省设施农业生产季连阴天时空演变特征及其影响

利用山东省59个国家级气象观测站1961—2018年逐日日照时数及32个设施农业小气候观测站2008—2018年逐日气温观测资料,采用线性回归法、Mann-Kendall突变检验法及反距离权重插值法等分析了设施农业生产季连阴天时空分布和变化规律及其对设施内气温条件的影响。结果表明,时间上,过去58 a山东省连阴天年总发生次数和总连阴天数分别以1.7次·a~(-1)和6.5d·a~(-1)的趋势增加,且年总发生次数在1999年发生突变;空间上,过去58 a连阴天总发生次数和总连阴天数均呈"东北—西南"向增多分布,聊城和德州地区的增加较其他区域更为明显,单站年发生次数和连阴天数增加超过0.06次·a~(-1)和0.2 d·a~(-1),且变化趋势在聊城等15个和13个站点通过显著性水平为0.05的显著性检验;随着连阴天数增加,设施内气温降温幅度会增大;相同连阴天数时,平均气温和最低气温降幅春秋季大于冬季,分析其原因可能是春秋季基础温度高于冬季,从而更容易引起温度的剧烈变化所导致。研究结果可为有关部门研究设施农业种植布局和指导设施农业生产及防灾减灾提供理论支持。
