造山运动和造山带是应用普遍和影响广泛的两个古老概念,一百多年来随着地球科学的快速发展和板块构造理论出现,情况已发生很大的变化。如何修订这一概念的内涵使之适应新的认识而又保持原定义的首尾-贯正受到普遍关注。作为2000年中国构造地质学发展回顾与展望学术讨论会的一个专题,本文回顾了上述概念产生的历史背景,分析了它们在板块构造理论框架下,特别是在现今大陆构造研究中所面临的挑战;提出并归纳了讨论中形成有关新形势下造山带概念的再理解和应用范围的共识。 相似文献

Assessment of liquefaction triggering using strain energy concept and ANN model: Capacity Energy 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
In the present study, an artificial neural network (ANN) model was developed to establish a correlation between soils initial parameters and the strain energy required to trigger liquefaction in sands and silty sands. A relatively large set of data including 284 previously published cyclic triaxial, torsional shear and simple shear test results were employed to develop the model. A subsequent parametric study was carried out and the trends of the results have been confirmed via some previous laboratory studies. In addition, the data recorded during some real earthquakes at Wildlife, Lotung and Port Island Kobe sites plus some available centrifuge tests data have been utilized in order to validate the proposed ANN-based liquefaction energy model. The results clearly demonstrate the capability of the proposed model and the strain energy concept to assess liquefaction resistance (capacity energy) of soils. 相似文献

Anastomosing rivers are characterized by multiple channels separated by islands excised from the floodplain. Their status relative to the continuum concept of channel pattern is assessed with channel pattern defined in terms of three variables—flow strength, bank erodibility and relative sediment supply. Using an ordinal scaling (L(ow)–M(oderate)–H(igh)), the traditional forms of straight, meandering and braided have respective representations of (L,L,L), (M,L/M,L/M) and (H,H,M/H) in terms of those variables. The anastomosing pattern is on average represented by (L,L,M/H) but not so definitively as other forms. Specification of the third element (sediment supply) is particularly hampered by the paucity of data but aggradation, a characteristic of many anastomosing rivers, can be thought of as symptomatic of a moderately high rate of supply relative to the ability for onward transport. A sufficiently high rate of supply to a channel with low flow strength and resistant banks would induce shoaling and/or lateral constriction that locally forces flow out of the main channel and ultimately leads to the cutting of anabranches. A flow regime characterized by concentrated floods of relatively large magnitude is also regarded as highly conducive to the formation of new channels where low bank erodibility constrains channel capacity. Anastomosis may in certain cases represent a transitional form of channel pattern but there is no denying the longevity of some anastomosing systems. 相似文献

This article describes research in the ongoing search for better semantic similarity tools: such methods are important when attempting to reconcile or integrate knowledge, or knowledge‐related resources such as ontologies and database schemas. We describe an extensible, open platform for experimenting with different measures of similarity for ontologies and concept maps. The platform is based around three different types of similarity, that we ground in cognitive principles and provide a taxonomy and structure by which new similarity methods can be integrated and used. The platform supports a variety of specific similarity methods, to which researchers can add others of their own. It also provides flexible ways to combine the results from multiple methods, and some graphic tools for visualizing and communicating multi‐part similarity scores. Details of the system, which forms part of the ConceptVista open codebase, are described, along with associated details of the interfaces by which users can add new methods, choose which methods are used and select how multiple similarity scores are aggregated. We offer this as a community resource, since many similarity methods have been proposed but there is still much confusion about which one(s) might work well for different geographical problems; hence a test environment that all can access and extend would seem to be of practical use. Two forms of interactive video were assessed in an online course focused on conservation. The hypothesis was that interactive video enhances student perceptions about learning and improves mental models of social-ecological systems. Results showed that students reported greater learning and attitudes toward the subject following interactive video. Moreover, metrics of network complexity applied to students' concept maps of socio-ecological systems increased longitudinally through the course highlighting greater awareness of socio-ecological linkages. We conclude that interactive video can increase awareness of interdisciplinary connections in socio-ecological systems and should be more widely employed in general education geography courses. 相似文献
