Abstract. Ingestion rates and absorption efficiencies in Gibbula umbilicaris and Jujubinus striatus feeding on green algal films, diatoms, macro-epiphytes, and dead Posidonia ocean/'ca-Ieaves have been investigated in laboratory experiments.
For both gastropod species, ingestion rates were highest in diatoms and thin green algal films as food source. G. umbilicaris exhibited significant lower consumption rates when feeding on seagrass debris or macro-epiphytes, J. striatus consumed neither Posidonia-debris nor macro-epiphytes.
Highest carbon absorption efficiencies were found in both gastropod species when feeding on diatoms and green algal films. Significantly lower efficiencies were found in G. umbilicaris when consuming seagrass debris or macro-epiphytes.
Analyses of fecal material confirmed these findings. Highest organic carbon contents were measured in fecal pellets produced after consumption of seagrass debris or macro-epiphytes reflecting the presence of structural carbohydrates. SEM examinations of feces revealed mainly diatom frustules, refractory parts of macroalgal and other plant material. Analyses of gut contents gave similar results suggesting a basically microphagous herbivory for both gastropod species.
Since seagrass debris and macro-epiphytes are not used very effectively, the high absorption efficiencies when animals feed on the microfloral component of the periphyton are discussed as possible adaptation to limited food availability.  相似文献

基于8-羟基喹啉金属螯合物在C_(18)键合硅胶上的吸附原理,在海水样品中加入少量8-羟基喹啉溶液,建立在线C_(18)键合硅胶柱富集,甲醇洗脱,洗脱液直接进入火焰的流动注射-火焰原子吸收光谱系统(FIA-FAAS)测定海水中痕量Cu,Ni,Cd和Zn的方法。富集倍数达80,进样频率为每小时30次。对Cu Ni,Cd和Zn测定的特征浓度分别为0.30,0.26,0.12和0.07μg/L;检出限(2σ)分别为0.07,0.05,0.02和0.01μg/L;相对标准偏差分别为2.7,2.1,2.8和2.5%;回收率分别为102,98,96和102%。本法快速简便,污染少,灵敏度高。  相似文献

This paper presents a hybrid element method for calculating harbor resonance in a coastal or offshore harbor under the effects of friction and boundary absorption. The friction term is assumed to be proportional to the flow velocity with a phase difference. The boundary absorption adopts a condition similar to the impedance condition in acoustics. In the near region a variational principle is established. In the far region the solution satisfies the Helmholtz equation. Computation results of harbor resonance by the model show good agreement with experimental data and theoretical result.  相似文献

The optical properties of coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM) can be used, in some environments, to trace water masses and provide information about the dynamics of the dissolved organic fraction in natural waters. This work presents the results from a modelling exercise, laboratory experiment and field data, which describe the variations in the optical properties of CDOM during mixing. The exponential slope coefficient (S) is frequently used to characterise different CDOM pools; however, its behaviour during conservative mixing of two different CDOM types is often misunderstood. Identification of a theoretical conservative mixing line allows the rapid identification of non-conservative processes (e.g. in situ production, flocculation and degradation) acting on the pool during mixing. The results suggest that some of the patterns reported in the literature could purely be a result of conservative mixing rather than a product of non-conservative processes.  相似文献

Intensive measurements were conducted in Xi’an, China before and during a COVID-19 lockdown period to investigate how changes in anthropogenic emissions affected the optical properties and radiative effects of brown carbon (BrC) aerosol. The contribution of BrC to total aerosol light absorption during the lockdown (13%–49%) was higher compared with the normal period (4%–29%). Mass absorption cross-sections (MACs) of specific organic aerosol (OA) factors were calculated from a ridge regression model. Of the primary OA (POA), coal combustion OA (CCOA) had the largest MACs at all tested wavelengths during both periods due to high molecular-weight BrC chromophores; that was followed by biomass burning OA (BBOA) and hydrocarbon-like OA (HOA). For secondary OA (SOA), the MACs of the less-oxidized oxygenated OA (OOA) species (LO-OOA) at λ = 370–590 nm were higher than those of more-oxidized OOA (MO-OOA) during both periods, presumably due to chromophore bleaching. The largest contributor to BrC absorption at the short wavelengths was CCOA during both periods, but BrC absorption by LO-OOA and MO-OOA became dominant at longer wavelengths during the lockdown. The estimated radiation forcing efficiency of BrC over 370–600 nm increased from 37.5 W·g?1 during the normal period to 50.2 W·g?1 during the lockdown, and that enhancement was mainly caused by higher MACs for both LO-OOA and MO-OOA. This study provides insights into the optical properties and radiative effects of source-specific BrC aerosol when pollution emissions are reduced.  相似文献

Chalcopyrite and bornite are the main Au-bearing minerals at Cu porphyry deposits, volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits, Cu-Ni deposits of the mafic magmatic complexes, and ores of submarine sulfide edifices. Bornite and intermediate solid solutions with wide compositional variations (bnss and iss – high-temperature chalcopyrite, correspondingly), which can scavenge economic concentrations of Au, appear in the Cu-Fe-S system at ore-forming conditions. However, the state of Au in bnss and iss is yet unknown. To solve this conundrum, we synthesized samples with net chemical composition of bnss and iss, studied them by in situ X–ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), and used the experimental data to explain the Au distribution among natural ore-forming minerals. The sulfide samples were obtained at 495–700 °C in Au-saturated system by means of salt flux method. The bnss contained ~1.2–1.6 log units more Au than iss: up to 18 wt.% Au in bnss vs 0.4 wt.% Au in iss at 700 °C. An increase of temperature resulted in the sharp increase of Au concentration in both phases, ~1 log unit per 100 °C at f(S2) close to S(l) saturation. Analysis of Au L3-edge spectra recorded at 25–675 °C revealed that at 25 °C Au exists mainly in the metallic state. At t > 500 °C the spectral features of Au° disappear, and “chemically bound” Au predominates. The Au form of occurrence in the iss field is interpreted as Au-bearing clusters with a stromeyerite-like (CuAgS) structure. Digenite Cu2–xS and bnss contain Au in a mixture of stromeyerite-like and petrovskaite-like (Au0.8Ag1.2S) clusters. The chemical composition of both forms is close to CuAuS, where the nearest Au neighbors are two S atoms at RAu-S = 2.34–2.36 Å. Results of the present study allow to determine the state of Au and its concentration in the main Cu-bearing minerals of sulfide ores as a function of the T-f(S2)-compositional parameters. Due to the sharp increase of the CuAuS clusters stability with increasing temperature, in high-temperature ores formed at t > 350 °C Au enriches Cu-bearing minerals in comparison with Cu-free or Cu-deficient ones. As a result, in these ores native gold, being a product of decomposition of the Au-bearing clusters, is associated with Cu-rich minerals – chalcopyrite, bornite, digenite, chalcocite.  相似文献

有机硫是海洋沉积物重要的硫形态,与有机质保存及多种元素的地球化学循环密切相关。利用硫的K边XANES谱从分子水平研究了东海内陆架沉积物中腐殖酸硫(HA-S)、富里酸硫(FA-S)以及铬不可还原有机硫(non-CROS)的形态及相对含量。结果表明,HA-S和FA-S总体上均以氧化态有机硫为主,其相对平均含量分别为56%和69%,而non-CROS则以还原态有机硫为主(86%)。HA-S和FA-S的强还原态硫为还原态有机硫的主要组成,磺酸盐和硫酸酯为HA-S中氧化态有机硫的主要组分,硫酸酯为FA-S中氧化态有机硫的主要组分。FA-S的强还原态有机硫为硫化成因,HA-S的强还原态硫可能与硫化和生物成因有关,而non-CROS的强还原态有机硫则主要为生物成因。如non-CROS能近似代表海洋沉积物中的有机硫总量,则表明该沉积物中总有机硫以还原态硫为主;而腐殖质硫(HA-S+FA-S)较高比例的氧化态硫则表明腐殖质硫不能全面反映沉积物中有机硫的组成和来源。  相似文献

Speciation of Cr in geochemical reference materials was characterised by sequential extraction and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy to identify Cr(III) resulting from the reduction of pollutant Cr(VI). Sequential extraction suggested that the amount of Cr associated with an acetic acid soluble fraction was low; Cr associated with a reducible phase and an oxidisable phase was extracted at 5–10% of the total Cr concentration, and the residual phase was found to be the dominant Cr‐containing fraction. Cr speciation in soil artificially doped with Cr(VI) and sediment samples collected from highly populated and industrialised areas was different from that in naturally occurring materials. Substantial Cr was extracted as a reducible phase (15–30%) and an oxidisable phase (30–60%) for these samples. Through subsequent XANES spectroscopy analysis, the reducible phase was explained by Cr bound to Fe hydroxide, while the oxidisable phase was a mixture of Cr bound to humic substances and Cr hydroxides. That is, Cr(VI) present as a contaminant in sediments and soils was reduced to Cr(III), which then bound to Fe hydroxide and humic substances, precipitating as a hydroxide. Thus, a combination of sequential extraction and XANES spectroscopy allows for effective identification and quantification of the chemical forms of Cr in sediments and soils.  相似文献

主要调查环渤海湿地的盐地碱蓬对碳、氮、磷的吸收通量。调查表明,环渤海湿地的盐地碱蓬面积为7 397 hm2。2009年7月、10月和11月盐地碱蓬总生物量(干重)分别为2.104×104t、2.615×104t和1.523×104t。7月、10月和11月,盐地碱蓬对碳的吸收通量分别为6 577 t、8 538 t和5 713 t;对氮的吸收通量分别为201.2 t、278.6 t、177.7 t;对磷的吸收通量分别为17.00 t、32.40 t、16.60 t;盐地碱蓬对碳、氮、磷的最大吸收通量均为10月。  相似文献

锰矿地质研究一直受到中外地质学界的重视。锰质来源研究,事关锰矿勘查活动的部署依据和找矿预测的成败。1996年,我们率先提出锰的“内源外生”成矿说。一直到20世纪末,中外锰矿地质学界的主流学说认为,形成锰矿床的锰质主要来自于大陆风化。最近,业界有学者新建锰矿“内生外成”模式,这一模式尚需经历科学与实践的检验。  相似文献
