VOFilter： Bridging Virtual Observatory and Industrial Office Applications

VOFilter is an XML based filter developed by the Chinese Virtual Observatory project to transform tabular data files from VOTable format into OpenDocument format. VOTable is an XML format defined for the exchange of tabular data in the context of the Virtual Observatory (VO). It is the first Proposed Recommendation defined by International Virtual Observatory Alliance, and has obtained wide support from both the VO community and many Astronomy projects. OpenOffice.org is a mature, open source, and front office application suite with the advantage of native support of industrial standard OpenDocument XML file format. Using the VOFilter, VOTable files can be loaded in OpenOffice.org Calc, a spreadsheet application, and then displayed and analyzed as other spreadsheet files. Here, the VOFilter acts as a connector, bridging the coming VO with current industrial office applications. We introduce Virtual Observatory and technical background of the VOFilter. Its workflow, installation and usage are presented. Existing problems and limitations are also discussed together with the future development plans.

虚拟地震采集系统天空仿真及漫游实现

鉴于野外地震采集具有系统庞大、仪器昂贵、成本高、风险大等诸多不利因素,开发虚拟地震采集仿真系统无疑对于地震采集实验教学和人才培训等具有重要的现实意义.天空仿真是虚拟地震采集系统野外作业工区视景仿真的重要内容.按照简单、快速、高效的原则,在详细阐述天空仿真和漫游实现方法的基础上,借助于vC++6.0和OpenGL平台,实现了晴天、阴天、雾天等多种静态自然景象的仿真开发,同时实现了步行和飞行两种模式的漫游功能.仿真结果真实感强、渲染速度快、交互性能良好,对于提升虚拟地震采集仿真系统的逼真度和沉浸感具有一定的实用价值.     

三维虚拟地球的海洋信息适用性分析及原型研究

分析了三维虚拟地球在海洋应用上具有的优势及可能面临的挑战的基础上,首次提出了一种结合网格、语义网等前沿技术和理念,利用三维虚拟地球实现三维虚拟海洋的技术方案;并按照SOA的多层次架构,采用XML的多源异构海洋环境数据快速交换、海洋环境信息服务快速封装与发布、海洋环境信息服务虚拟组织、远程可视化等关键技术,实现了海洋环境信息网格平台及网格前端门户系统--三维虚拟海样(VRMarine)。VRMarine不仅能够集成网格环境下多源海洋环境信息服务,再现逼真的三维海洋环境场景,同时,还支持对功能服务的动态集成,实现多维时空特征分析。研究表明,该方案是切实可行和有效的,对三维虚拟海洋具有一定的现实及指导意义。     

网上全景多视点实时浏览与快速传输系统

设计了一个面向虚拟旅游场景的网上全景多视点实时漫游与传输系统。该虚拟旅游系统是基于Flash3D技术进行了构架设计,对海量虚拟旅游全景图片的传输模式和传输策略进行了优化调度,从而使得虚拟旅游场景的网上浏览和传输变得更为流畅。该优化调度策略在湛江虚拟旅游系统中得到了很好的运用。     

基于网络技术的测震系统在市县地震部门的应用

介绍了基于网络技术的测震系统在市县地震部门的应用,从一个侧面反映出安徽＂十五＂数字测震台网建设的显著成效。基于网络技术的测震系统成功推广,不仅扩大了市县地震部门的业务范围,完善其监测预报体系建设,而且提高了市县地震部门的地震监测能力和地震研究水平,提升了市县地震部门在各级政府的影响力和社会显示度。     

虚拟技术在地震应急指挥技术系统中的应用

利用虚拟技术,可将原来在多台服务器上部署的地震应急指挥技术系统在一台高性能服务器上实现容灾备份,在节约硬件资源的同时,虚拟机灵活部署、快速恢复的特性也能提高整个系统的灵活性、可靠性.本文对什么样的服务器可作为地震应急指挥系统的虚拟服务器,如何规划虚拟应用,虚拟部署后的系统与原系统比较有何差异等进行了研究.本文的研究结果可为全国各省区域应急指挥中心的容灾备份提供参考依据.     

Challenging the Coproduction of Virtual Water and Palestinian Agriculture

The idiom of virtual water feeds a prolific literature now shaping the policies of national administrations and international organizations, including donors. This article explores the manner in which Palestinian agriculture and the concept of virtual water shed light on each other’s coproduction. It opens the black box of virtual water to identify the underlying hypotheses. It invalidates these hypotheses using empirical research. Integrating structuration theory to an STS approach, it explores the manner the coproduction of an interpretive scheme, virtual water, is linked to the construction of a structure of power. Within the idiom of virtual water, flows exist only through the international trade of commodities while states are endowed with an annually renewed stock of water. We focus on the real flow of water from its emergence from the earth to its evapotranspiration by a cultivated plant. We demonstrate that social and political variables within water governance determine the volumes of virtual water flows far more than climatic or agronomic variables. The idiom of virtual water portrays Palestinian smallholders as inefficient water users while ignoring the manner they sustain food security and environmental sustainability. It legitimizes export oriented agribusinesses as their mode of production corresponds to the coproduction of the idea of efficiency underlying the concept of virtual water. These results allow us to reconsider smallholder agriculture as it exists in the Palestinian territories and what sort of policies can support it.     

Numerical simulation of kinetic friction in the fracture process of rocks in the framework of General Particle Dynamics

A numerical simulation of kinetic friction function in the fracture process of rocks in the framework of General Particle Dynamics (GPD) is performed in this paper. The frictional algorithm is implemented into the General Particle Dynamics code (GPD) to describe frictional behavior of particles, where frictional forces among discrete particles are formulated using the principle of balance of two forces based on ideal plastic contact between two surfaces of solids. In General Particle Dynamics code (GPD), interaction among discrete particles is formulated using the virtual-bond method. Fractures of virtual bonds among particles are determined through the Hoek-Brown damage evolution law of rock materials. Three numerical cases are to verify the stability and accuracy of the numerical algorithm. Then, the numerical results are compared with analytical solutions and experimental results. It is found that the numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.
