The stochastic–conceptual rainfall–runoff simulator (SCRRS) developed by R. A. Freeze in 1980 was used in this study to demonstrate quantitatively the interplay of the factors that control the occurrence of overland flow by the Horton and Dunne mechanisms. The simulation domain and input data for the SCRRS simulations reported here were abstracted from the R‐5 catchment (Chickasha, OK) data sets. The results illustrate that the identification of a dominant hydrological response process may not be as simple as a singular Horton or Dunne characterization. The SCRRS simulations show that the Horton and Dunne processes can (i) occur simultaneously at different locations during a given rainfall event, (ii) change from one process to the other with time depending on the characteristics of the rainfall event, and (iii) be strongly dependent on the initial conditions. The new spectroscopic observation of MV Sgr obtained at ESO in 1987 July shows enhanced emission lines of He I λ3889, [SII] λ4068 relative to the observations discussed by Jeffreyet al. (1988). The presence of [SII] λ4068 indicates the presence of planetary-nebulae-like envelope around the star. Although the radial velocity of the absorption
lines and Fe II emission lines do agree with the velocity given by Jeffreyet al., the [SII] λ4068 and probably He I emission lines appear to behave differently.

Global and regional ridge patterns on Mars 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Over 16,000 wrinkle ridges on Mars have been classified, mapped, and digitized to provide a large computer-accessible data base for analyzing regions subjected to possible compressive stresses. The survey has revealed major compressive structures that occur well beyond the Tharsis-dominated hemisphere. The large variety of affected geologic terrains indicate stresses not simply localized in the intercrater plains. One major area of inferred compression occurs in the southern cratered highlands near longitude 180°W where major ridges and scarps extend over 3000 km. The occurrence and orientation of many ridges are locally controlled by ancient impact basins. The Chryse basin in particular has an important effect on ridges in northern Lunae Planum. The removal of all basin-concentric ridges reveals, however, a complex global pattern. Although such patterns may yet be controlled by heavily degraded impact basins, major regional trends also emerge that appear to require broader scale global stresses. Most ridges in the Western Hemisphere are shown to be orthogonal to three centers corresponding to Tharsis (1°N, 122°W), Syria (12°S, 104°W), and Chryse (19°N, 47°W). Ridges not included in these three sets are generally more random and highly localized. Most, but by no means all, ridges in the Eastern Hemisphere are controlled by the Hellas and Isidis basins. A field study was conducted to analyze root throw and associated sediment transport in Hawk Creek Watershed, Canadian Rockies. A large crown fire in 2003 allowed the opportunity to study pre‐fire and post‐fire root throw. Based on field data, a significant relation was found between gradient and root plate volume, as well as individual root plate dimensions. Given that tree diameters increase as trees age and that a relation in the field data was found between tree diameter and root plate volumes, sediment transport due to root throw is expected to change in response to forest disturbance and stand age. Sediment disturbance, which is the amount of sediment upheaved during tree topple and does not take into account transport distance, shows higher values on steeper gradients. Sediment transport was notable for the steepest plots, with pre‐fire values of 0·016 cm3 cm–1 a–1 and post‐fire values of 0·18 cm3 cm–1 a–1. A tree population dynamics model is then integrated with a root throw transport model calibrated for the Canadian Rockies to examine the temporal dynamics of sediment transport. Fire is incorporated as a disturbance that initiates development of a new forest, with the model cycling through generations of forest. Trees fall according to an exponential rate that is based on time since death, resulting in a time lag between tree mortality and sediment transport. When values of time‐since‐previous‐fire are short, trees are generally <13 cm, and minimal sediment is upheaved during toppling. If trees reach a critical diameter at breast height (dbh) at time of fire, a pulse of sediment occurs in the immediate post‐fire years due to falling of killed trees, with tree fall rates decreasing exponentially with time‐since‐fire. A second pulse of root throw begins at about 50 years after the previous fire, once new recruits reach a critical dbh and with initiation of competition‐induced mortality. By combining living trees and archaeological wood, the annual mean temperatures were reconstructed based on ring-width indices
of the mid-eastern Tibetan Plateau for the past 2485 years. The climate variations revealed by the reconstruction indicate
that there were four periods to have average temperatures similar to or even higher than that mean of 1970 to 2000 AD. A particularly
notable rapid shift from cold to warm, we call it the “Eastern Jin Event”, occurred from 348 AD to 413 AD. Calculation results
show that the temperature variations over the mid-eastern Tibetan Plateau are not only representative for large parts of north-central
China, but also closely correspond to those of the entire Northern Hemisphere over long time scales. During the last 2485
years, the downfall of most major dynasties in China coincides with intervals of low temperature. Compared with the temperature
records in other regions of China during the last 1000 years, this reconstruction from the Tibetan Plateau shows a significant
warming trend after the 1950s.

利用1971-2008年西藏地区22个台站观测的总云量资料,初步分析研究了西藏地区总云量的变化趋势。结果表明:西藏大部分区域年总云量呈显著减少的趋势,其中那曲中西部的减幅最大,达2.32%/10a,而南部边缘年总云量减少的趋势不显著。总云量与降水、相对湿度呈正相关,与日照时数、平均气温及气温日较差呈负相关。总云量的Hurst指数表明,西藏大部分地区总云量呈减少的趋势,未来这种减少的趋势将持续,短时期内不会发生逆转。 相似文献

利用结瘤基因nodA PCR-RFLP和nodA PCR产物序列分析技术,对36株分离自沙冬青根瘤菌菌株的共同结瘤基因nodA进行了遗传类型和系统发育关系分析。试验结果表明,36株根瘤菌nodA PCR-RFLP分析显示在80%的相似水平上聚为两个类群5个亚群;选取不同基因型代表菌株的nodA进行序列测定和系统发育关系分析表明,测试菌株CCNWNX0117、CCNWNX0068、CCNWNX0083、CCNWNX0062、CCNWNX0058与中慢生根瘤菌聚在一起,系统发育地位相近;测试菌株CCNWNX0089、CCNWNX0081、CCNWNX0064与中华根瘤菌聚在一起,有较高的序列相似性。本研究中nodA基因所揭示的沙冬青根瘤菌遗传多样性和系统发育关系说明沙冬青根瘤菌nodA基因遗传多样性较高,宿主结瘤范围较宽。 相似文献

山地丘陵坡地逆温效应对果树避冻的影响 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
通过对3个县8个山坡地的考察,探索山地丘陵坡地逆温效应对果树避冻的影响。试验对三年来冬季观测到日最低温度(td)进行拟合处理,运用趋势线分析探究温差(△td)与相对坡位(G)之间的总体趋势,采用相关回归方差分析方法对△td与G进行差异显著性检验。结果表明:△td与G相关达到极其显著水平。对于高差(△H)〈50m的山坡,晴夜最低气温随高度的增加而增加,越近坡顶,最低气温越高;对于76m≤△H〈150m的山坡,在该山坡相对坡位0.63以上,晴夜最低气温常出现最高,逆温效应明显。总高差不足150m山坡最大逆温效应出现的坡位G与山坡总高差成反比,即随着△H的增加,最大逆温效应出现的坡位G值逐渐变小。利用这些结果进行果树科学合理建园,发展山区特色果业,对不耐寒果树安全避冻意义重大。 相似文献

The promotion and preservation of biodiversity in urban areas remains scant, especially in Asian cities. This study focuses on spatial pattern and diversity of landscape trees in compact Taipei. Aggregate species diversity of three urban habitats (streets, urban parks and riverside parks) exceeded the countryside's secondary forests. Urban parks with site heterogeneity and multiple functions accommodate the highest richness, and streets with acute site limitations the poorest represented by popular native species. More affinities exist between urban and riverside parks. Low diversity in riverside parks echoes natural site constraints and primary use for river discharge and flood control. The compact urban form has not stifled species diversity and spatial variability of urban forests. Development history and park area have no significant relationship with species diversity. Understanding species composition in urban ecosystems could frame conservation strategies to augment species richness, appropriate site selection, habit preservation and wildlife recruitment. 相似文献
