Recognition of Paleo-Tethys Suture Zone in eastern Myanmar

The site of final closure of Paleo-Tethys Ocean during the Triassic-Jurassic was marked by the colli-sional event between the Shan Massif and Indochina plate, in eastern Myanmar. Previous site of consumption of Paleo-Tethys is now occupied by a complex zone of suturing and deformation along Than Lwin River and in the east of it, formed by drastic tectonic evolution. It is geographically located approximately between longitudes 98E and 100E, and it extends northwards to Yunnan and southwards into West Thailand. The sigmoidal wrench struc-tures of suture zone is situated in the east of step-like structures of Shan Massif, and the western boundary of the suture zone must be immediately on the west side of Than Lwin River and the eastern boundary is near the east border of Myanmar. The area is largely covered by younger rocks of Paleozoic and Mesozoic age. The Upper Pa-leozoic units of Carboniferous to Permian comprise limestone and dolomite of the Plateau Limestone overlying unconformably the Lower Paleozoic rocks. Metasedimentary rocks of the Carboniferous and their metamorphic equivalents and the flysch-like Triassic-Jurassic units are found as folded and thrusted beds in the area. Large complex of granitic rocks of Late Triassic are also found. Metavolcanics, gabbro and a large number of chromite occur along with these units. A preliminary delineation of a suture zone as the site of closure of Paleo-Tethys Ocean in Myanmar territory is made for the first time and this zone is believed to be a tectonic linkage between Changning-Menglian belt of West China and Inthanon Zone of West Thailand.     

An automated cross‐correlation based event detection technique and its application to a surface passive data set

In studies on heavy oil, shale reservoirs, tight gas and enhanced geothermal systems, the use of surface passive seismic data to monitor induced microseismicity due to the fluid flow in the subsurface is becoming more common. However, in most studies passive seismic records contain days and months of data and manually analysing the data can be expensive and inaccurate. Moreover, in the presence of noise, detecting the arrival of weak microseismic events becomes challenging. Hence, the use of an automated, accurate and computationally fast technique for event detection in passive seismic data is essential. The conventional automatic event identification algorithm computes a running‐window energy ratio of the short‐term average to the long‐term average of the passive seismic data for each trace. We show that for the common case of a low signal‐to‐noise ratio in surface passive records, the conventional method is not sufficiently effective at event identification. Here, we extend the conventional algorithm by introducing a technique that is based on the cross‐correlation of the energy ratios computed by the conventional method. With our technique we can measure the similarities amongst the computed energy ratios at different traces. Our approach is successful at improving the detectability of events with a low signal‐to‐noise ratio that are not detectable with the conventional algorithm. Also, our algorithm has the advantage to identify if an event is common to all stations (a regional event) or to a limited number of stations (a local event). We provide examples of applying our technique to synthetic data and a field surface passive data set recorded at a geothermal site.

极地冰层回转钻进切削热量测试装置的研制

极地冰盖深部“暖冰”层钻进时,由于冰层的温度较高,接近甚至达到冰的压力熔点,回转钻进时产生的切削热量极易使冰屑融化,导致机械钻速慢、取心率低、卡钻事故频发。钻压、转速、切削具结构等参数均对切削热量有一定的影响,有必要设计一套实验装置对切削热量进行测试,从而为设计切削具结构、优化钻进参数组合提供理论依据。以XY-1型岩心钻机钻进系统为平台,利用无线信号传输原理设计了冰层回转钻进切削热量测试实验台。初步测试结果表明,该实验装置能够准确测量钻压、扭矩、切削温度等参数,可用来进行相关的实验研究。     

Deterministic sensitivity analysis for a model for flow in porous media

A deterministic method for sensitivity analysis is developed and applied to a mathematical model for the simulation of flow in porous media. The method is based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the Jacobian matrix of the model. It is a local approach to sensitivity analysis providing a hierarchical classification of the directions in both the input space and of those in the output space reflecting the degree of sensitiveness of the latter to the former. Its low computational cost, in comparison with that of statistical approaches, allows the study of the variability of the results of the sensitivity analysis due to the variations of the input parameters of the model, and thus it can provide a quality criterion for the validity of more classical probabilistic global approaches. For the example treated here, however, this variability is weak, and deterministic and statistical methods yield similar sensitivity results.     

广西黎塘岩溶塌陷监测

黎塘是一个构造和岩溶发育的地区,抵抗岩溶地面塌陷的能力较低,在一定的条件触发下较容易产生岩溶地面塌陷。研究表明,岩溶地下水动力条件变化和湿化崩解作用是黎塘塌陷的主要影响和触发因素。本文采用现场实时监测岩溶地下水动态变化特征和室内试验相结合的方法,研究黎塘开发岩溶地下水的安全性。监测结果表明, I、II、II I监测区的最大水压变化速度分别为0. 048kPa /s、0. 160kPa /s和0. 007k Pa /s,小于临界变化速度0. 163kPa /s;最大水力坡降分别为0. 717、1. 052和0. 566,小于临界坡降7. 5。但是, I区满足临界水位埋深条件, 而II区和II I区则未满足临界水位埋深条件。因此,在目前的开采条件下, II 区、III区处于相对稳定状态, I区处于不稳定状态。这说明在发生大规模塌陷后,当地政府从2000年起对地下水开发方案的调整是适当的。      

辽宁省高速公路气象保障服务系统设计与展望

为了提高辽宁省高速公路的气象保障服务能力,提出了建立辽宁高速公路气象保障服务系统的设想。分析了辽宁及国内外的高速公路气象保障的研究概况,在此基础上,根据高速公路管理部门对于气象保障服务的实际需求,认为建立高速公路气象保障服务系统应合理布设和增加高速公路沿线的自动气象监测站点,要以气象部门信息网络为依托,以气象数据库、预报技术平台、预报技术方法为基础,有针对性地开发高速公路气象预报预警模式和决策系统,并提出了建立高速公路信息反馈及损毁评估平台的设想,试图为提高高速公路气象服务水平提供技术支撑。     

应用计算机进行固体矿产储量计算,提高地质工作水平

Windos XP版储量计算程序是作者90年代DOS版的全面升级。该程序按照目前地质工作普遍采用的公式和做法,符合现行规范规定和要求。程序对储量计算中矿体圈定等难点解决较好。该程序已经多个矿区应用检验,最近又为南非英铂公司采用推广。
