It is becoming easier to combine geographical data and dynamic models to provide information for problem solving and geographical cognition. However, the scale dependencies of the data, model, and process can confuse the results. This study extends traditional scale research in static geographical patterns to dynamic processes and focuses on the combined scale effect of multiscale geographical data and dynamic models. The capacity for topographical expression under the combined scale effect was investigated by taking multiscale topographical data and meteorological processes in Hong Kong as a case study. A meteorological simulation of the combined scale effect was evaluated against data from Hong Kong Observatory stations. The experiments showed that (1) a digital elevation model (DEM) using 3 arc sec data with a 1 km resolution Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model gives better topographical expression and meteorological reproduction in Hong Kong; (2) a fine-scale model is sensitive to the resolution of the DEM data, whereas a coarse-scale model is less sensitive to it; (3) better topographical expression alone does not improve weather process simulation; and (4) uncertainty arising from a scale mismatch between the DEM data and the dynamic model may account for 38 % of the variance in certain meteorological variables (e.g., temperature). This case study gives a clear explanation of the significance and implementation of scale matching for multiscale geographical data and dynamic models. 相似文献

Frozen ground is significantly stiffer than unfrozen ground. For bridges supported on deep foundations, bridge stiffness is also
measurably higher in winter months. Significant changes due to seasonal freezing in bridge pier boundary conditions require additional
detailing in order to ensure a ductile performance of the bridge during a design earthquake event. This paper reports the latest
results obtained from a project that systematically investigated the effects of seasonally frozen soil on the seismic behavior of
highway bridges in cold regions. A bridge was chosen and was monitored to study its seismic performance and assess the impact
of seasonally frozen soil on its dynamic properties. A Finite Element (FE) model was created for this bridge to analyze the impact
of seasonal frost. It was found that when frost depth reaches 1.2 m, the first transverse modal frequency increases about 200%
when compared with the no-frost case. The results show that seasonal frost has a significant impact on the overall dynamic behavior
of bridges supported by pile foundations in cold regions, and that these effects should be accounted for in seismic design. 相似文献

根据"东方红2"于2011年9月在南海西南部11°N~15°N、111°E~114°E海域测得的CTD资料及据此的地转流计算结果,结合南海的海流数值计算结果的对比分析,得出南海西南部海盆附近水域中尺度涡的基本分布规律及其水文特征:(1)以12°N~13°N附近宽约100km的条带作为分界,其北部是气旋式运动,南部是反气旋式运动。(2)气旋涡中心产生上升流,底层水上升,中心密度大。表层表现为低温高盐高密特征;200m层表现为低温低盐高密特征;1 000m层则表现为低温高盐高密特征。(3)在反气旋涡中心产生下降流,海水密度小。表层表现为高温低盐低密特征;200m层表现为高温高盐低密特征;1 000m层则表现为高温低盐低密特征。(4)在8~9月,上述北气旋、南反气旋的分布流态基本不变;(5)季风的影响是因素之一,而地形影响更是调查区域双涡旋流动结构的重要动力机制。 相似文献

基于MODIS-NDVI、DEM和气象数据,分析柴达木盆地2000—2015年植被覆盖度(FVC)时空变化特征,并与降水、温度、日照时数、相对湿度、蒸散量和海拔进行相关、偏相关或叠加分析,探讨FVC与各环境因子的关系。结果表明:FVC整体自东南向西北内陆呈半环状递减,FVC集中在20%以下,人类活动及径流等打破植被地带性规律;2000—2015年FVC明显改善,广泛分布于盆地中西部地区,2001—2002年年际变化最显著;FVC与降水、相对湿度以正相关为主,与温度关系不显著,与日照时数和蒸散量主要为负相关,降水对FVC贡献最大,温度通过影响蒸散量等间接影响FVC,而土壤蒸发对蒸散量的影响大于植物蒸腾;FVC与等高线空间分布较吻合,FVC在2 800~2 900 m和4 600~4 700 m出现两个峰值,4 700 m以上FVC迅速降低。 相似文献

土体作为各向异性散粒体材料,其动力特性依赖于所处的应力路径。列车荷载下地基土在最大剪应力空间呈心形线旋转应力状态,但目前还未见室内试验中模拟心形线应力路径的相关研究。首先提出了土体动力响应解的简化拟合形式,并通过典型列车荷载作用下地基土所受应力特征分析验证了该简化形式的合理性。针对目前国际上已有的3类空心圆柱仪(HCA),推导出模拟列车荷载下地基土应力特征的加载方式:(1)双向振动HCA可通过确定轴力和扭矩的应力形式来实现心形线应力路径加载,此时球应力p的变化规律与轴力的加载波形一致,中主应力系数b在内、外压相等时呈余弦变化规律;(2)三向振动HCA在模拟列车荷载下的应力特征时,可以保持p不变或b恒为0.5;(3)四向振动HCA能够通过控制轴力、扭矩和内、外压的共同变化来较全面地模拟列车荷载下土单元体的应力特征,并可实现b为任意合理值且保持不变的前提下p、q之间保持恒定线性关系。并推导了3类HCA的加载参数在正应力均以压应力为主及中主应力方向维持在直径方向时的约束条件。 相似文献

Information on river stages can be transmitted to relevant management offices over a network by using an automatic stage gauge so that management offices can effectively evaluate whether a river stage is exceeding the warning line and take action if necessary. However, current river stage measurement methods can present this information only in data form because the methods cannot simultaneously obtain images such as the rising or overflow of the river stage. In addition, the stage gauge can fail or be washed away when the river stage is high. To solve these problems, this research evaluates a novel measurement method involving a video surveillance system that exhibits features such as easy installation, low maintenance cost, and low failure possibility. Through on-site image recording, this measurement method involves using image identification technology to read water level figures automatically. This method offers instant river stage figures and on-site video so that disaster prevention measures can be implemented accordingly. The results of a dynamic water flow test conducted in an indoor experimental channel indicated that all of the average absolute error levels of river stage identification were less than ±1.2 %, meaning that the image identification technology could achieve identification results at any flow level. By contrast, the findings of a rainfall simulation experiment suggest that the average absolute error of river stage identification was less than ±2.5 %, meaning that the measurement technology and method used in this research are useful and feasible at various rainfall intensities. 相似文献
