We present an exact solution of Einstein's equations for cosmological models of Bianchi type-II filled with string dust as the source for the gravitational field. The solution represents an expanding and anisotropic universe which would give essentially an empty universe for large time. Some kinematical properties of the solution are discussed.  相似文献

Analytical solutions using KS elements are derived. The perturbation considered is the Earth's zonal harmonic J 2. The series expansions include terms of fourth power in the eccentricity. Only two of the nine KS element equations are integrated analytically due to the reasons of symmetry. The analytical solution is suitable for short-term orbit computations. Numerical studies show that reasonably good estimates of the orbital elements can be obtained in one step of 10 to 30 degrees of eccentric anomaly for near-Earth orbits of moderate eccentricity. For application purposes, the analytical solution can be effectively used for onboard computation in the navigation and guidance packages, where the modelling of J 2 effect becomes necessary.  相似文献

A study is made of the free convection in hydromagnetic flows through a porous medium of a heat generating fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate. A strong magnetic field is imposed in a direction which is perpendicular to the free stream and makes an alge to the vertical direction. The governing equations for the hydromagnetic fluid flow and the heat transfer are solved analytically. The influence of Hall currents, the permeabilityK and the inclination upon the velocity field are shown in figures.  相似文献

Late Pleistocene terrestrial climate records in India may be preserved in oxygen and carbon stable isotopes in pedogenic calcrete. Petrography shows that calcrete nodules in Quaternary sediments of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan are pedogenic, with little evidence for postpedogenic alteration. The calcrete occurs in four laterally persistent and one nonpersistent eolian units, separated by colluvial gravel. Thermoluminescence and infrared- and green-light-stimulated luminescence of host quartz and feldspar grains gave age brackets for persistent eolian units I–IV of ca. 70,000–60,000, ca. 60,000–55,000, ca. 55,000–43,000, and ca. 43,000–25,000 yr, respectively. The youngest eolian unit (V) is <10,000 yr old and contains no calcrete. Stable oxygen isotope compositions of calcretes in most of eolian unit I, in the upper part of eolian unit IV, and in the nonpersistent eolian unit, range between −4.6 and −2.1‰ PDB. These values, up to 4.4‰ greater than values from eolian units II and III, are interpreted as representing nonmonsoonal18O-enriched “normal continental” waters during climatic phases when the monsoon weakened or failed. Conversely, 25,000–60,000-yr-old calcretes (eolian units II and III) probably formed under monsoonal conditions. The two periods of weakened monsoon are consistent with other paleoclimatic data from India and may represent widespread aridity on the Indian subcontinent during isotope stages 2 and 4. The total variation in δ13C is 1.7‰ (0.0–1.7‰), and δ13C covaries positively and linearly with δ18O. δ13C values are highest when δ18O values indicate the most arid climatic conditions. This is best explained by expansion of C4grasses at the expense of C3plants at low latitudes during glacial periods when atmosphericpCO2was lowered. C4dominance was overridingly influenced by global change in atmosphericpCO2despite the lowered summer rainfall.  相似文献

Einstein field equations are considered for zero-curvature Robertson-Walker models in the case of a viscous fluid distribution interacting with zero-rest-mass scalar fields. Exact solutions are obtained for two different phases of the early universe viz. the inflationary phase and the radiation-dominated phase, by using the 'gamma-law' equation of state p = (-1). The index describing the material content varies continuously with cosmological time. The gravitational 'constant' and bulk viscosity are both allowed to depend on the cosmic time. Some physical properties of the cosmological models are also discussed.  相似文献

We present CCD observations for the distant northern open star clusters Berkeley 81, Berkeley 99, NGC 6603 and NGC 7044 in B V I photometric passbands. A total of 9 900 stars have been observed in fields of about 6 × 6 arcmin2 of the sky around the clusters. Colour–magnitude diagrams in V , ( B  −  V ) and V , ( V  −  I ) have been generated down to V  = 22 mag and, for the first time, such diagrams have been produced for the clusters Berkeley 81 and Berkeley 99. The data serve as a base for the study of mass functions and for comparison with theoretical models. Analysis of the radial distribution of stellar surface density indicates that the radius values for Berkeley 81, Berkeley 99, NGC 6603 and NGC 7044 are 2.7, 2.8, 2.8 and 2.2 arcmin respectively. By fitting the latest convective core overshooting isochrones to the colour–magnitude diagram and using its morphological features, reddenings, distances and ages of the star clusters have been determined. Broad but well-defined main sequences with stellar evolutionary effects in the brighter stars are clearly visible in colour–magnitude diagrams of all the clusters under study. Some blue stragglers along with well-developed giant branches and red giant clumps are also clearly seen in all of them. The clusters studied here are located at a distance of ∼ 3 kpc, except for Berkeley 99 which is located at a distance of 4.9 kpc. Their linear sizes lie between 3.8 and 8.0 pc; E ( B  −  V ) values range from 0.3 to 1.0 mag, while their ages are between 0.5 and 3.2 Gyr. Thus the star clusters studied here are of intermediate and high age but are compact and distant objects.  相似文献

In early April 2003, fishermen from Kino Bay Sonora alerted us about a massive die-off of fish and mollusks occurring at Kun Kaak Bay. Phytoplankton samples taken on 17 May 2003 reported the presence of a harmful algal bloom composed of Chatonella marina, Chatonella cf. ovata, Gymnodinium catenatum and Gymnodinium sanguineum. On 22 of May, we collected samples of water, sediment and organisms at the affected area. Physicochemical parameters and nutrients were measured in water samples from different depths. Sediment and benthic organisms were analyzed for Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb and Hg. We found concentrations of heavy metals higher than background levels for this area. Cadmium and Lead concentrations in sediment from the HAB area were up to 6x greater than background levels and Cd in mollusks was 8x greater than regulations allow. A relationship between elevated Cd and Pb concentrations in sediment and the survival of toxic dinoflagellates is suspected.  相似文献
