In this paper, we present G′/G-expansion method, exp-function method, modified F-expansion method as well as the traveling wave hypothesis for finding the exact traveling wave solutions of the quantum Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation which arises in quantum magneto-plasmas. By these methods, rich families of exact solutions have been obtained, including soliton solutions. This work continues to reinforce the idea that the proposed methods, with the help of symbolic computation, provide a powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献

We report here results from a new search for orbital motion of the accretion powered X-ray pulsar 4U 1626–67 using two different analysis techniques. X-ray light curve obtained with the Proportional Counter Array of the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer during a long observation carried out in February 1996, was used in this work. The spin period and the local period derivative were first determined from the broad 2–60 keV energy band light curve and these were used for all subsequent timing analysis. In the first technique, the orbital phase dependent pulse arrival times were determined for different trial orbital periods in the range of 500 to 10,000 s. We have determined a 3σ upper limit of 13 lt-ms on the projected semimajor axis of the orbit of the neutron star for most of the orbital period range, while in some narrow orbital period ranges, covering about 10% of the total orbital period range, it is 20lt-ms. In the second method, we have measured the pulse arrival times at intervals of 100 s over the entire duration of the observation. The pulse arrival time data were used to put an upper limit on any periodic arrival time delay using the Lomb-Scargle periodogram. We have obtained a similar upper limit of 10 lt-ms using the second method over the orbital period range of 500–10,000 s. This puts very stringent upper limits for the mass of the compact object except for the unlikely case of a complete face-on orientation of the binary system with respect to our line-of-sight. In the light of this measurement and the earlier reports, we discuss the possibility of this system being a neutron star with a supernovae fall-back accretion disk.  相似文献

In this paper the gravitational collapse of cosmic gas clouds and formation of star clusters has been considered. Hoyle's view of successive fragmentation has been taken as the basic mechanim in the present work. The initial masses of protostars have been estimated as the function of their distances from the centre of the cluster and the intensity of the magnetic field of the medium. It has been shown that the fragmentation process is greatly inhibited by the presence of a strong magnetic field. A model has been constructed showing how a protostar grows in mass by accretion from the surrounding medium, on the basis of the assumption that as the star moves at random in the cluster it picks up a fraction of the material through which it passes. It has been estimated that a protostar of initial mass of about 0.1M grows to one of 1.0M in a time period which ranges from a few multiples of 105 to a few multiples of 107 yr, depending on the parameters involved in the accretion process. The number of stars per unit mass range has also been estimated; it is found to be proportional tom –3.3,m being the mass of the star.  相似文献

Based on petrographical data, three types of greisen have been characterized at the western border of Água Boa pluton: siderophyllite–topaz–quartz greisen (greisen 1), fluorite–phengite–quartz greisen (greisen 2) and quartz–chlorite–phengite greisen (greisen 3). Episyenites were also identified.Two fluids of independent origin interacted with the same protolith – a hornblende-biotite alkali feldspar granite – and produced both the greisens and potassic episyenite: (1) an acid, low-salinity (4–12 wt.% NaCl eq.), F-rich, relatively hot (400–350 °C) reduced aqueous-carbonic fluid (CH4–H2O–NaCl–FeCl2 ± KCl), which by immiscibility gave rise to fluid IA (aqueous) and IC (carbonic); and (2) a lower salinity (2–4 wt.% NaCl eq.) and temperature (200–150 °C) aqueous fluid (H2O–NaCl), which was responsible for all dilution processes. Fluid 1 seems to have had a magmatic-hydrothermal origin, while fluid 2 is probably surface-derived (meteoric water?). An alkaline, F-poorer and diluted equivalent of fluid IA was interpreted to have caused the episyenitization of the granite host rock as well as the formation of phengite-rich greisen 3. The continuos interaction of this fluid with the potassic episyenite produced a moderate- to high-salinity (20–24 wt.% NaCl eq.), low-temperature (200–100 °C) fluid (H2O–NaCl–CaCl2 ± KCl), leading to the formation of chlorite-rich zone of greisen 3 and late silicification of potassic episyenite.In the greisen 1, decreasing F-activity and increasing oxygen fugacity, as the system cooled down, favored the formation of a topaz-rich inner zone, which grades into a siderophyllite-rich zone outwardly. Greisen 2 was formed under more oxidizing conditions by fluids poorer in F than those trapped in the siderophyllite-rich zone.The oxidation of aqueous-carbonic fluid took place at three distinct stages: (i) below the FMQ buffer; (ii) between the FMQ and NNO buffers; and (iii) above the NNO buffer.The dissolution cavities generated during the episyenitization process increased the permeability of the altered rocks, resulting in an increase of the fluid/rock ratios at the potassic episyenite and greisen 3 sites.All these fluids were trapped under pressure conditions of <1.0 kbar, representing shallow crustal levels and are consistent with those that have been estimated for the Pitinga tin–granites.The oxygen fugacity, F-activity gradients and salinity variations that occurred during the cooling of the hydrothermal system, in addition to differences in permeability, were important factors in the formation of distinct greisens. They not only controlled the fluid compositional changes, but also caused the cassiterite and sulfide precipitation at the greisen sites.  相似文献

This paper describes the performance of the Fully Depleted pn-junction CCD (pn-CCD) system, developed for ESA's XMM-satellite mission for soft x-ray imaging and spectroscopy in the single photon counting mode in the 100 eV to 10 keV photon range. The 58 mm x 60 mm large pn-CCD array, designed and fabricated at the Semiconductor Lab (Halbleiterlabor) of the Max-Planck-Institut, uses pn-junctions for registers and as backside structure. This concept naturally enables full depletion of the detector volume independent of the silicon wafer's resistivity and thickness, and as such make it an efficient detector for the x-ray region and the infrared. For high detection efficiency in the soft x-ray region and UV, an ultrathin pn-CCD backside deadlayer has been realized. Each pn-CCD-channel is equipped with its own on-chip JFET amplifier which, in combination with the CAMEX-amplifier and multiplexing chip, facilitates parallel readout and fast data rate: the cooled pn-CCD system can be read out at a data rate up to 3 MHz with an electronic noise floor of ENC < 5 e-.  相似文献

In the rapidly developing field of study of the transient sky, fast radio transients are perhaps the most exciting objects of scrutiny at present. The SKA, with its wide field-of-view and significant improvement in sensitivity over existing facilities, is expected to detect a plethora of fast transients which, in addition to help resolve the mysteries surrounding their nature and origin, will also lead to other interesting applications in astrophysics. We explore some of these possibilities here, and also emphasize the current status and future plans of the Indian community working in this area, in the context of ongoing work and extension of this to the SKA.  相似文献

Sharp density gradients coupled with field-aligned currents can give rise to short wavelength (?15 m) drift waves due to collisional effects in the F-region of the auroral ionosphere. In this wavelength range, ion-ion collisions at altitudes of 300–450 km render the ions unmagnetized and a field-aligned current can drive a drift wave, propagating almost transverse to the magnetic field, unstable due to the resistance in electron parallel motion arising from electron collisions.  相似文献

Though a number of flares is capable to trigger the emission of a noise storm, in some other rare cases flares may also lead to a depression of the radio flux of a pre-existing noise storm. Details of this phenomenon are demonstrated at the flare of May 5, 1978 which can be regarded as an instructive example. Using extensive observations during the solar cycle No. 20 a number of further noise storm depressions could be detected whereas chance coincidences with flares could be ruled out by a statistical treatment. Possible mechanisms related to the noise storm depression effect are briefly discussed.  相似文献
