Each year many hundreds, if not thousands, of Earth-science students visit the coastline at Ogmore-by-Sea, mid-Glamorgan. They study the excellent exposures of Lower Carboniferous Limestone, with their well-preserved coral and other shelly faunas, together with the presumed late Triassic 'breccias'* that rest unconformably on top. A study of the cements within the breccias may give an insight into syndepositional mineralization and the formation of sedimentary basins linked to the opening of the Atlantic in early Mesozoic times.  相似文献

The time evolution of a two-dimensional line thermal-a turbulent flow produced by an initial element with signifi-cant buoyancy released in a large water body, is numerically studied with the two-equation k - e model for turbulence closure. The numerical results show that the thermal is characterized by a vortex pair flow and a kidney shaped concentra-tion structure with double peak maxima; the computed flow details and scalar mixing characteristics can be described by self-similar relations beyond a dimensionless time around 10. There are two regions in the flow field of a line thermal: a mixing region where the concentration of tracer fluid is high and the flow is turbulent and rotational with a pair of vortex eyes, and an ambient region where the concentration is zero and the flow is potential and well-described by a model of doublet with strength very close to those given by early experimental and analytical studies. Lock-release gravity currents with a viscous self-similar regime are simulated by use of the renormalization group(RNG) k - ε model for Reynolds-stress closure. Besides the turbulent regime with initially a slumping phase of a conslant current front speed and later an inviseid self-similar phase of front speed decreasing as t^-1/3(where t is the time measured from release), the viseous self-similar regime is satisfactorily reproduced with front speed decreasing as t^-4/5,consistent with well known experimental observations.  相似文献

A comprehensive numerical study on the three-dimensional structure of a turbulent jet in crossflow is performed. The jet-to-crossflow velocity ratio (R) varies in the range of 2 - 16; both vertical jets and inclined jets without excess streamwise momentum are considered. The numerical results of the Standard two-equation k-ε model show that the turbulent structure can be broadly categorised according to the jet-to-crossflow velocity ratio. For strong to moderate jet discharges, i.e. R> 4, the jet is characterized by a longitudinal transition through a bent-over phase during which the jet becomes almost parallel with the main freestream, to a sectional vortex-pair flow with double concentration maxima; the computed flow details and scalar mixing characteristics can be described by self-similar relations beyond a dimensionless distance of around 20-60. 为了解岩性在天然气水合物分布中的作用, 利用岩矿鉴定、扫描电镜和能谱法对ODP204航次的 4个站位 10个钻孔共计 115个沉积物样品进行分析, 发现沉积物中矿物成分基本相近, 以粘土矿物为主, 含少量以石英为主的陆源碎屑。样品中含有丰富的硅藻和有孔虫等微体化石, 可形成硅藻粘土—硅藻土、有孔虫硅藻土或凝灰质硅质生物粘土。石英碎屑大多呈棱角状, 粒径小、含量少, 同时, 样品中可见透镜体、团块或旋涡状层状结构以及杂乱堆积的斑杂构造。上述特征表明沉积物为含有大量深海或半深海的浊流沉积物或其夹层。由于钻井岩心中有相当部分的天然气水合物样品分布在上述沉积物中, 推断这些浊流沉积物很可能是ODP204航次天然气水合物的有利储层。  相似文献

The structural state of an alkali feldspar is determined by the nature of the distribution of Al and Si in the tetrahedral sites of the feldspar structure. This state is a function of a number of genetic controls including temperature, cooling rate, deformation, crystal size, and several chemical factors. Together these controls constitute a genetic regime. Identification of the structures of detrital feldspars may enable recognition of genetic regimes and be useful in provenance interpretation and mineral province definition. A 2-peak method of X-ray diffraction (XRD) determination as a variant of an earlier proposed 3-peak method of structural state determination is used in this study. Total analytical time for each determination is about 50–55 min per grain. Results of structural state identification of 126 detrital feldspars from Holocene stream sands derived from volcanic, plutonic and metamorphic rocks are presented in order to illustrate the application and potential of the technique. Detrital feldspars from the metamorphic rocks are all maximum microcline; those from the plutons range from orthoclase to microcline depending on the age of the pluton, whereas those from the volcanic rocks are sanidines.  相似文献

西江干流河水主要离子及锶同位素地球化学组成特征   总被引:7,自引:1,他引:7  
水环境中锶(Sr)含量及其同位素组成特征的研究有助于认识区域水文地球化学特征及流域盆地岩石风化速率等地球化学行为,因此河流环境中Sr的地球化学行为是地球化学研究的重要课题之一。对中国南方西江干流及其支流河水主要阴阳离子及sr同位素组成进行了分析,发现其水化学组成主要以Ca^2+、Mg^2+、HCO3^-和SO4^2-离子为主,分别占阴阳离子组成的80%以上。郁江河水具有较高的Sr同位素比值(^87St/^86Sr=0.71049)和较低的Sr含量(0.0263mg/L),而西江河水具有较低的Sr同位素比值以及较高的Sr含量,其Sr含量变化范围在0.0667.0.187mg/L之间,平均含量为0.136mg/L;Sr同位素比值变化范围在0.70856.0.70936之间,平均比值为0.70894。与世界主要河流水体中Sr含量平均值(0.078mg/L)及Sr同位素比值(^87Sr/^86Sr=0.7119)相比,西江干流水体具有较高的Sr含量及较低的Sr同位素比值。两条河流河水中主要离子及Sr的来源存在显著差异,西江干流河水中的主要溶解离子及Sr同位素主要源于碳酸盐岩(石灰岩和白云岩)的风化作用,主要受黔江及其上游红水河等化学组成所控制,而郁江则主要受碎屑岩风化作用的影响;同时,中上游地区的酸沉降及人类活动的输入可能导致西江干流水体受到一定程度的污染,而郁江受污染程度则相对较小。  相似文献

根据地质产状和地球化学特征大兴安岭中生代流纹岩类可划分为高Ti流纹岩和低Ti流纹岩。高Ti流纹岩类与亚碱性系列玄武岩类紧密伴生 ,两者在地球化学上构成连续变异系列。低Ti流纹岩类则与碱性系列玄武岩类构成地球化学双峰态。岩相学和地球化学研究表明 ,这两类流纹岩与该区同期玄武岩类有着密切的成因联系 :起源于地幔柱亏损成分的亚碱性系列玄武岩浆经过单斜辉石、斜长石、磷灰石、锆石的分离结晶 ,形成亚碱性系列低钾玄武岩→高钾玄武岩→高Ti流纹岩演化系列 ;起源于地幔柱富集成分的碱性系列玄武岩浆侵入下地壳 ,使下地壳岩石发生部分熔融 ,形成碱性系列玄武岩 -低Ti流纹岩双峰态组合  相似文献
