In this paper we present a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics in the region of the (3556) Lixiaohua asteroid family. The family lies in a particularly interesting region of the phase space, crossed by several two-body and three-body mean motion resonances. Also, members of this family can have close encounters with large asteroids, such as Ceres. We have identified the mean motion resonances which contribute to the long-term dynamical evolution of the family and our results confirm that the members of this family can be classified into a number of groups, exhibiting different dynamical behavior. We show for the first time that in the Lixiaohua region, apart from the chaotic diffusion in proper eccentricity and inclination (e p and I p ), there is at least one extended chaotic zone where several resonances overlap, thus giving rise to chaotic diffusion in proper semi-major axis (a p ) as well. Using a code of Monte Carlo type, we simulate the evolution of the family, according to the model which combines the chaotic diffusion (in a p , e p and I p ), Yarkovsky/YORP thermal effect and random walk in a p due to the close encounters with massive asteroids. These simulations show that all these effects should be taken into account in order to accurately explain the observed distribution of family members in the space of proper elements, although a “minimal” model that accounts for chaotic diffusion in (e p , I p ), Yarkovsky-induced drift in a p and random walk in a p due to the close encounters with the most massive asteroids is enough to grossly characterize the shape of the family. 相似文献

A Visual Basic macro entitled BACKGROUND calculates geochemical background values of chemical parameters and estimates threshold values separating background data from anomalies. The macro uses two statistical methods, the iterative 2-sigma technique and the calculated distribution function, and integrates these model-based objective methods into a widely accessible platform (i.e., MS Excel). We have obtained and analyzed UBVRI
CCD frames of the young, 4–10 Myr, open cluster NGC 3293 and the surrounding field in order to study its stellar content and determine the cluster’s IMF. We found significantly fewer lower mass stars, M≤2.5M
⊙, than expected. This is particularly so if a single age for the cluster of 4.6 Myr is adopted as derived from fitting evolutionary
models to the upper main sequence. Some intermediate-mass stars near the main sequence in the HR diagram imply an age for the cluster of about 10 Myr. When compared with the Scalo (The stellar initial mass function. ASP
conference series, vol. 24, p. 201, 1998) IMF scaled to the cluster IMF in the intermediate mass range, 2.5≤M/M
⊙≤8.0 where there is good agreement, the high mass stars have a distinctly flatter IMF, indicating an over abundance of these stars, and there is a sharp turnover in the distribution at lower masses. The radial
density distribution of cluster stars in the massive and intermediate mass regimes indicate that these stars are more concentrated
to the cluster core whereas the lower-mass stars show little concentration. We suggest that this is evidence supporting the
formation of massive stars through accretion and/or coagulation processes in denser cluster cores at the expense of the lower
mass proto-stars.

(OM), the degree of thermal alteration, the generation potential of OM from the rocks of this basin, and conditions in the

In order to examine the extent of the As enrichment and the factors influencing this enrichment in the groundwater of Eastern Croatia, groundwater samples were collected from 56 production wells in two counties, Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem, suspected to be more affected. Hydrochemical analyses were performed at all locations including in situ As speciation at 32 locations. Arsenic was detected in 46 out of 56 groundwater samples with total As concentrations up to 491 μg/L. Thirty-six of the studied wells yielded groundwater with total As concentrations that exceeded the WHO Maximum Contaminant Level for arsenic in drinking water of 10 μg/L. Only inorganic As species were detected with arsenite As(III) as the predominant form. The spatial distribution of As in the groundwater was significantly linked with geological, geomorphological and hydrogeological development of the alluvial basin of the Drava and Sava rivers. The most probable groundwater As sources are deeper sediments from the Middle and Upper Pleistocene. The results obtained suggest that biogeochemical processes controlling As concentration in the groundwater are complex and location-specific. Reductive dissolution of Fe oxides, desorption of As from Fe oxides and/or clay minerals as well as competition for the sorption sites with organic matter and phosphate could be the principal mechanisms that control As mobilization. The extent of those processes vary in the different parts of the Drava and Sava depressions and could be linked to different site related parameters, such as lithology, mineralogy, local hydrology and hydrogeology; thus different processes of As mobilization have been proposed for the different types of water in relation to groundwater evolution. 相似文献

Definition of geochemical background in exploration and environmental geochemistry has always been regarded as contingent
upon scale and investigated locality but mostly under assumption that hosts of processes that produce the data more or less
conform individually to Gaussian law of “central tendencies”. Recently, understanding of pedogenesis as synergetic process
being characterized by non-linear dynamics renders thermodynamic approach directly applicable in assessment of geochemical
thresholds, with concepts of linearity and normality set alongside in solving the problems of soil geochemistry. Seen from
this perspective the work is an attempt to relate conceptual fundamentals of non-linear dynamical theory to basic statistical
methods in order to elucidate the nature and origins of element subpopulations hidden in the original geochemical data from
the soils of Istrian Peninsula (western Croatia). To this purpose the two major groups of soils were selected for analysis
depending on the type of bedrock as one of the main soil-forming factors. Geochemical data were subjected to the trimming
procedure by which the outliers were removed from the total data collective and attributed to non-linear causes precluding
simple cause-and-effect relationships as the sine qua non of Gaussian distribution. Geochemical background is then defined as the normal range of data of the remaining (trimmed) dataset
indicating the “thermodynamic branch” of the specific soil processes as opposed to outliers being described as dissipative

Annual and seasonal variability of precipitation observed at 92 stations in Vojvodina (Serbia) were analyzed during the period 1946–2006. The rainfall series were examined by means of the empirical orthogonal functions (EOF). The first set of singular vectors explains from 68.8 % (in summer) to 81.8 % (in winter) of the total variance. The temporal variability of the time series associated with the main EOF configurations (the principal components, PCs) was examined using the Mann–Kendall test and the spectral analysis. The time series of PC1 revealed decreasing trend in the winter and spring precipitation and increasing trend in the autumn, summer, and annual precipitation. The relationships between the first PC and circulation patterns, such as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), the East Atlantic (EA) pattern, and East Atlantic/West Russia pattern, were also investigated. The PC1, displaying temporal behavior of the first mode, demonstrated evident correspondence with the NAO index in analysis of the annual, winter, and autumn precipitation. Power spectra of the PC1 show statistically significant oscillations of about 3.3 years for the spring precipitation and about 8 and 15 years for the winter precipitation. Comparisons with spectral analysis of authors for some regions in Europe, most of them in the Mediterranean domain, show that similar periodicities are detected. 相似文献

The study reports new aeromagnetic and gravity data for the northern part of the Timok Magmatic Complex (TMC), East Serbia. The TMC is part of the Tethyan Eurasian metallogenic zone well known for hosting large copper and gold deposits. The complex formed by continuous volcanic activity 90–78 Ma ago, that developed in roughly three phases: Turonian andesites, Santonian–Campanian andesites/basaltic andesites (both mostly volcanic) and Campanian latites/monzonites (mostly shallow intrusive). The aeromagnetic measurements included acquiring total magnetic intensity data that were corrected for diurnal variations, leveling, microleveling, calculated normal field values, calculated anomaly values of total magnetic field intensity and reduction to the pole. The gravity measurements were carried out in an irregular grid with relative gravity values obtained using a Worden gravity meter. 2D modeling reveals that the subsurface extension of the Campanian Valja Str? pluton is ten times larger than it is indicated by its surface outcrops. This implies that the area south and southeast from the pluton can be interesting in terms of finding new porphyry systems. The model indicates that this intrusive body should not be considered as a deeply dissected pluton. This sheds new light onto its potential with respect to epithermal gold mineralization, as well. The model also suggests that there are larger non-exposed bodies of Santonian–Campanian volcanics and near-surface hydrothermally altered rocks than it is inferred from geological maps. The results of our study suggest that further interdisciplinary investigations in the TMC, in particular those integrating geophysics and geology, may have potential of advancing the existing exploration models. 相似文献
