Under the two initial 1‐D one parameter velocity distribution forms (one is normal, the other is exponential), the z direction scale height evolution of normal neutron stars in the Galaxy is studied by numerical simulation. We do statistics for the cases at different time segments, also do statistics for the cumulative cases made of each time segment. The results show in the cumulative cases the evolution curves of the scale heights are smoother than in the each time segment, i.e., the cumulation improve the signal‐to‐noise ratio. Certainly the evolution cases are different at different Galactic disk locations, which also have very large difference from the average cases in the whole disk. In the initial stages of z evolution of normal neutron stars, after the beginning transient states, the cumulative scale heights increase linearly with time, and the cumulative scale height increasing rates have linear relationship with the initial velocity distribution parameters, which have larger fluctuation in the vicinity of the Sun than in the whole disk. We utilize the linear relationship of the cumulative scale height increasing rates vs. the initial velocity distribution parameters in the vicinity of the Sun to make comparison with the observation near the Sun. The results show if there is no magnetic decay, then the deserved initial velocity parameters are obvious lower than the present well known results from some authors; whereas if introducing magnetic decay, for the 1‐D normal case we can make consistence among concerning results using magnetic decay time values which are supported by some authors, while for the 1‐D exponential case the results show the lackness of young pulsar samples in the larger z in the vicinity of the Sun (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. On 5 April 2008, a filament at the periphery of an active region was observed by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager telescope aboard the STEREO-A spacecraft, which showed up as a prominence eruption in the field-of-view from STEREO-B. The filament at STEREO-A 304 Å was first lengthened toward a region with weak overlying magnetic field so evolved as a large-scale one consisting of bright and dark threads twisting with each other, and then the portion below the weak field underwent an eruption. Meanwhile, the corresponding STEREO-B 304 Å prominence threads exhibited a kinking structure and tilting motion, with its center deflecting from the radial direction. By using three-dimension (3D) reconstruction technology, we obtain the 3D topology for the kinked prominence when its apex arrived at 1.4 radii, from which a clockwise rotation of about 90° is found in the course of the eruption. By comparing the 3D structure with the magnetic-field configuration computed by using the Potential-Field Source-Surface (PFSS) model, it is suggested that the filament erupted against the rather weaker than stronger overlying magnetic field, which make it appear to tilt toward one side. 相似文献

The method of analytical downward continuation has been used for solving Molodensky’s problem. This method can also be used
to reduce the surface free air anomaly to the ellipsoid for the determination of the coefficients of the spherical harmonic
expansion of the geopotential. In the reduction of airborne or satellite gradiometry data, if the sea level is chosen as reference
surface, we will encounter the problem of the analytical downward continuation of the disturbing potential into the earth,
too. The goal of this paper is to find out the topographic effect of solving Stoke’sboundary value problem (determination
of the geoid) by using the method of analytical downward continuation.
It is shown that the disturbing potential obtained by using the analytical downward continuation is different from the true
disturbing potential on the sea level mostly by a −2πGρh 2/p. This correction is important and it is very easy to compute
and add to the final results. A terrain effect (effect of the topography from the Bouguer plate) is found to be much smaller
than the correction of the Bouguer plate and can be neglected in most cases.
It is also shown that the geoid determined by using the Helmert’s second condensation (including the indirect effect) and
using the analytical downward continuation procedure (including the topographic effect) are identical. They are different
procedures and may be used in different environments, e.g., the analytical downward continuation procedure is also more convenient
for processing the aerial gravity gradient data.
A numerical test was completed in a rough mountain area, 35°<ϕ<38°, 240°<λ<243°. A digital height model in 30″×30″ point value
was used. The test indicated that the terrain effect in the test area has theRMS value ±0.2−0.3 cm for geoid. The topographic effect on the deflections of the vertical is around1 arc second. 相似文献

There is a common belief that the presence of residual spatial autocorrelation in ordinary least squares (OLS) regression
leads to inflated significance levels in beta coefficients and, in particular, inflated levels relative to the more efficient
spatial error model (SEM). However, our simulations show that this is not always the case. Hence, the purpose of this paper
is to examine this question from a geometric viewpoint. The key idea is to characterize the OLS test statistic in terms of
angle cosines and examine the geometric implications of this characterization. Our first result is to show that if the explanatory
variables in the regression exhibit no spatial autocorrelation, then the distribution of test statistics for individual beta
coefficients in OLS is independent of any spatial autocorrelation in the error term. Hence, inferences about betas exhibit all the optimality properties of
the classic uncorrelated error case. However, a second more important series of results show that if spatial autocorrelation
is present in both the dependent and explanatory variables, then the conventional wisdom is correct. In particular, even when
an explanatory variable is statistically independent of the dependent variable, such joint spatial dependencies tend to produce
“spurious correlation” that results in over-rejection of the null hypothesis. The underlying geometric nature of this problem
is clarified by illustrative examples. The paper concludes with a brief discussion of some possible remedies for this problem. 相似文献

In the Global Positioning System, there is no provision for real-time integrity information within the Standard Positioning Service, by design. However, in safety critical sectors like aviation, stringent integrity performance requirements must be met. This can be achieved using the special augmentation systems or RAIM (Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) or both. RAIM, the most cost-effective method relies on data consistency, and therefore requires redundant measurements for its operation. An external aid to provide this redundancy can be in the form of an Inertial Navigation system. This should enable continued performance even when no redundant satellite measurements are available. An algorithm presented in previous papers by the authors detects the rate of slowly growing errors. The algorithm was shown to be effective for early detection of slowly growing errors that belong to the class of most difficult to detect errors. Firstly, rate detector is tested for varying faults. Secondly, real data are used to validate the rate detector algorithm. The data are extensively analyzed to ascertain whether it is suitable for integrity and fault diagnostics. A modification to the original rate detector algorithm is suggested by addition of a bias state to the dynamic model. The performance is then compared with the existing techniques and substantial improvement is shown. 相似文献

This study introduces artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the estimation of land surface temperature (LST) using meteorological and geographical data in Turkey (26?C45°E and 36?C42°N). A generalized regression neural network (GRNN) was used in the network. In order to train the neural network, meteorological and geographical data for the period from January 2002 to December 2002 for 10 stations (Adana, Afyon, Ankara, Eski?ehir, ?stanbul, ?zmir, Konya, Malatya, Rize, Sivas) spread over Turkey were used as training (six stations) and testing (four stations) data. Latitude, longitude, elevation and mean air temperature are used in the input layer of the network. Land surface temperature is the output. However, land surface temperature has been estimated as monthly mean by using NOAA-AVHRR satellite data in the thermal range over 10 stations in Turkey. The RMSE between the estimated and ground values for monthly mean with ANN temperature(LSTANN) and Becker and Li temperature(LSTB-L) method values have been found as 0.077?K and 0.091?K (training stations), 0.045?K and 0.003?K (testing stations), respectively. 相似文献

Results from processing FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC radio occultations (RO) with the new GPS L2C signal acquired both in phase locked loop (PLL) and open loop (OL) modes are presented. Analysis of L2P, L2C, and L1CA signals acquired in PLL mode shows that in the presence of strong ionospheric scintillation not only L2P tracking, but also L1CA tracking often fails, while L2C tracking is most stable. The use of L2C improves current RO processing in the neutral atmosphere mainly by increasing the number of processed occultations (due to significant reduction in the number of L2 tracking failures) and marginally by a reduction in noise in statistics. The latter is due to the combination of reduced L2C noise (compared to L2P) and increased L1CA noise in those occultations where L2P would have failed. This result suggests application of OL tracking for L1CA and L2C signals throughout an entire occultation to optimally acquire RO data. Two methods of concurrent processing of L1CA and L2C RO signals are considered. Based on testing of individual occultations, these methods allow: (1) reduction in uncertainty of bending angles retrieved by wave optics in the lower troposphere and (2) reduction in small-scale residual errors of the ionospheric correction in the stratosphere. 相似文献
