In 1982, the Central Laboratory for Geodesy (CLG) started a long-term study of the recent crustal movements in a local test area in a mobile region located southwards of Sofia.The recent geodynamic conditions and the deep structure of the Earth's crust in this region are described.Data on the local network of precise leveling are given-the scheme and characteristics of the loops, benchmarks and their monumentation. A first geodynamic analysis of the results of the first and third cycles of measurements is made, a map of the module of horizontal gradient of vertical velocity has been elaborated. The results obtained corroborate the reasons for the selection of this geodynamic test area.  相似文献

Detached eclipsing binaries constitute potential accurate distance tracers. They are also useful as the test bench of stellar evolution. In BD–00° 3357 eclipses are partial and its orbital period is 1.d4. Our combined spectroscopic and photometric solution yields secure parameters of this system. The model of the star was obtained using the Wilson‐Devinney method. As result we obtained a semi major axis of 7.65 R and a mass ratio of 0.78. The derived masses and radii are M 1 = 1.73 M,M 2 = 1.34 MR 1 = 1.78 R, R 2 = 1.32 R, respectively. These values correspond to the slightly evolved F0 and F6.5 components, both slightly less than 1Gyr old. The distance of the star was estimated to be 310 ± 60 pc, and the corresponding photometric parallax is 3.24 ± 0.74 mas. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

With an apparent cluster diameter of 1.5° and an age of 4 Myr, Trumpler 37 is an ideal target for photometric monitoring of young stars as well as for the search of planetary transits, eclipsing binaries and other sources of variability. The YETI consortium has monitored Trumpler 37 throughout 2010 and 2011 to obtain a comprehensive view of variable phenomena in this region. In this first paper we present the cluster properties and membership determination as derived from an extensive investigation of the literature. We also compared the coordinate list to some YETI images. For 1872 stars we found literature data. Among them 774 have high probability of being member and 125 a medium probability. Based on infrared data we re‐calculate a cluster extinction of 0.9–1.2 mag. We can confirm the age and distance to be 3–5 Myr and870 pc. Stellar masses are determined from theoretical models and the mass function is fitted with a power‐law index of α = 1.90 (0.1–0.4 M) and α = 1.12 (1–10 M). (© 2013 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We present V RI photometry and low-resolution spectroscopy of the object 2MASS J01074282+4845188. The V-shape of the eclipse, the phase variability of the colour indices as well as the presence of a pre-eclipse hump, standstill and flickering allow us to conclude that it is a nova-like cataclysmic star. This is supported by the observed broad emission Hα line. Its single profile with a relatively narrow FWHM but large FWZI is typical for a nova-like variable of SW Sex subtype. The observed deep eclipses make the newly discovered cataclysmic star 2MASS J01074282+4845188 an interesting object for future investigation.  相似文献

The Dnepr palaeo-delta on the north-western continental slope of the Black Sea is a prolific seepage zone characterised by a highly variable heat flow ranging from 24 to 88 mW/m2. New thermal data were collected at 33 closely spaced stations in order to better understand the apparent relation between heat flow variability and seepage features. Strong relief gradients and associated landslide shaping may explain first-order heat flow variability but, locally, thermal parameters appear to be controlled by fluid and gas migrations. High heat flow anomalies are found at sites where faults and diapirs offer pathways for warm fluid flow from deeper sedimentary levels. Low heat flow is most strongly expressed at ridge crests near seepage sites but is also found where seeps are absent. Reduced heat flow and nonlinear temperature-depth variations are interpreted to result from natural or induced gas ebullition of saturated shallow gas covered by a thin, relatively impermeable sedimentary seal. The presence of sealed gas pockets, in particular at ridge crests, is supported by methane pore-water analysis and a shallow gas front widely observed in the study area.  相似文献

We report here on cirque infills mapped in the Khibiny Mountains, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Cirque infills are morainic deposits located near the headwalls of valleys and cirques. Their location and shape, often with concave margins towards the valley side, indicate that they were deposited by ice flowing up‐valley, into the mountains, rather than by local glaciers. We suggest that they formed during the last deglaciation, when Khibiny was a nunatak and Fennoscandian ice sheet lobes extended into valleys and cirques of the massif. The formation of cirque infills is probably more related to ice sheet dynamic factors, occurring when the ice margin retreated from the cirques, than to climate‐driven interruption in the ice‐marginal retreat. Glacial conditions similar to those prevalent when the Khibiny cirque infills were formed, occur today in Antarctica where the ice sheets engulf nunatak ranges. In Heimefrontfjella, Antarctica, the formation of supraglacial moraines at the head of cirques are linked to blue‐ice conditions, indicating locally low accumulation rates, a dry continental climate and sublimation dominated ablation. We suggest that these Antarctic moraines are modern analogues of cirque infills on the Kola Peninsula, and possibly, that the cirque infills may be used as palaeoenvironmental indicators. After the Last Glacial Maximum, the semi-land-locked Black Sea basin was flooded by warm water from the Mediterranean Sea. This major sea level rise and change of physical water properties had a large impact on the gas hydrate reservoir in the sediments below. Modelling of the regional response of the gas hydrate stability zone (GHSZ) to the Black Sea flooding 7100 years ago shows that a strong effect of near-bottom temperature increase pushes the gas hydrate reservoir to a large shrinking of 15–62% that may release up to 1.1–4.6 Gt of methane. This catastrophic scenario is, however, delayed because of the transient nature of the heat wave propagation. The large-scale reduction of the GHSZ is only to take place within the next thousand years. At present, widespread hydrate dissociation is only expected to occur where there is a minimum water depth for hydrate stability.  相似文献
