We present the results of the preliminary study of the comet Hale-Bopp spectrum obtained April 17, 1997 by K. Churyumov and F. Mussayev with the help of the 1-meter Zeiss reflector and the echelle spectrometer (spectral resolutionλ/Δ λ ≈ 50000), CCD and the long slit, oriented along the radius-vector(“Sun-comet direction”). Energy distributions for three selected regions including the C3, C2 (0-0) and CN(Δ ν = 0) molecules emissions of the comet Hale-Bopp spectrum were built. The rotational lines of the CN(Δ ν = 0) band were identified. The nature of the high emission peak near λ 4020 Å in the C3 band is discussed. The presence of the cometary continuum of the nonsolar origin is assumed.  相似文献

Fine structure of brightness inhomogeneities with I r.m.s. = 2.9% was discovered on the extreme limb of the Sun on the best quality white-light photographs obtained at the Soviet Stratospheric Solar Observatory. The concept is that temperature inhomogeneities are responsible for the limb structure. The real value T r.m.s. = 109K is required to explain our observations. Another possible explanation is that small-scale magnetic flux tubes with the realistic filling factor f* = 1% are the source of the limb brightness fluctuations.  相似文献

This contribution deals with the properties of small-scale magnetic elements at the polar caps of the Sun. Spectro-polarimetric observations, obtained with high spatial resolution with the Gregory Coudé Telescope at the Observatorio del Teide on Tenerife, were analysed. We find, though with limited data sets, that polar faculae differ in two aspects from faculae of the network in non-active regions near the equator (equatorial faculae): (1) Polar faculae appear to have the same magnetic polarity as the general polar magnetic field. Presumably, the latter is rooted in the small-scale faculae. The equatorial faculae show both magnetic polarities. (2) Polar faculae, with a size of 3.5 ± 1.3, are larger than equatorial faculae with 2.1 ± 0.4. Yet as for equatorial faculae, polar faculae possess kilogauss magnetic fields.  相似文献

Occultation studies of near-Sun plasmas using several natural sources simultaneously result in large-scale patterns, radio maps of the solar wind flow. Large radio telescopes of the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute, Pushino, were used. Previously it had been shown that the plasma acceleration and traverse of the sound barrier proceed in an extended region, the transition region of the solar wind, located at radial distances of about 10–40 solar radii from the Sun. The 1989–1994 experiments showed that the evolution of the transition region geometry is very close to that of the optical corona. On the other hand, the plasma flow structures characteristic of the transition region persist in the course of the 11-year cycle, which demonstrates the existence of some specific mechanism of the solar wind acceleration, independent of wide variations of the general solar activity state. These experimental facts are discussed in connection with the existing theoretical approaches.  相似文献

Velocity determination of 131 head echoes recorded during Perseid meteor shower observations by the Canadian 2 MW radar, has been performed under the assumption of either their constant velocity or of its linear change with time. Even though the constant velocities concentrated at 60 km s-1 generally accepted for the Perseids, a substantial number of echoes had velocities either lower than 60 km s-1 or greater than this value. The inclusion of variable velocity into considerations led to surprising result that a great portion of the head echoes accelerated (3 possibly decelerating echoes in comparison with 33 accelerating cases on the level of relative standard deviations of output parameters not exceeding 10%). It seems that the allocation of the ionization responsible for the head echo is not entirely identical with the instantaneous meteoroid position. As a consequence, the velocity derived from the measured head echo coordinates can differ from the velocity of parent body. We are not able to explain this finding at present. The light curves, obtained by the authors of the present paper during the period 1978–1992, of the chromospherically active binary system RT Lac were examined. The average (B–V) colour indices were obtained and corrected for the interstellar extinction. Spectroscopic studies indicate that the less massive component may be taken as G8. The light curve analysis indicates that the less massive, larger component fills its corresponding Roche lobe. Both photometric and spectroscopic observations compel one to draw a conclusion that circumstellar matter does exist around the binary system. A colour excess caused by this matter is found to be 0.278 for B–V colour at mid–secondary eclipse. On the basis of photometric colour indices alone, the components of RT Lac are classified as G3–4 and G8. If we use the observed radial velocities of the less massive subgiant star from Ca II emission lines and from other optical lines we find for the mass of the more massive component as 1.34–1.70 M. This mass range corresponds to the main sequence late F stars. The common envelope hypothesis and mass function and also blending of the spectral lines of more massive component point out that it should be at most a late F type main sequence star.  相似文献

We report on initial observations of coronal holestructure and evolution by the Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) instrument on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). The data show that there is coronal activity on time scales of tens of minutes, manifested as brightenings at chromospheric network cell junctions in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) wavelengths. There are also significant differences in structure seen in different wavelengths in coronal holes. Finally, we show coronal hole EUV spectra and compare them to quiet-Sun spectra, also taken by CDS.  相似文献

Oscillatory spectra of solar quiescent prominences highlight the importance of incorporating the effect of prominence fine-structure in the theory of prominence oscillations. We determine the magnetohydrodynamic modes of oscillation of an elementary, zero- model of a prominence fibril, arguing that the fast body kink modes, namely, the string and the internal magnetic Love modes, produce the observed short periodicities in prominence fine-structures. Estimates for the periods of these modes are presented: the modes are subject to testing in future high-resolution observations.  相似文献

Radiation energies of bright flashes caused by disintegration of large meteoroids in the atmosphere have been measured using optical sensors on board geostationary satellites. Light curves versus time are available for some of the events. We have worked out several numerical techniques to derive the kinetic energy of the meteoroids that produced the flashes. Spectral opacities of vapor of various types of meteoroids were calculated for a wide range of possible temperatures and densities. Coefficients of conversion of kinetic energy to radiation energy were computed for chondritic and iron meteoroids 10 cm to 10 m in size using radiation–hydrodynamics numerical simulations. Luminous efficiency increases with body size and initial velocity. Some analytical approximations are presented for average conversion coefficients for irons and H-chondrites. A mean value of this coefficient for large meteoroids (1–10 m in size) is about 5–10%. The theory was tested by analyzing the light curves of several events in detail.Kinetic energies of impactors and energy–frequency distribution of 51 bolides, detected during 22 months of systematic observations in 1994–1996, are determined using theoretical values of luminous efficiencies and heat-transfer coefficients. The number of impacts in the energy range from 0.25 to 4 kt TNT is 25 per year and per total surface of the Earth.The energy–frequency distribution is in a rather good agreement with that derived from acoustic observations and the lunar crater record. Acoustic systems have registered one 1 Mt event in 12 years of observation. Optical systems have not detected such an event as yet due to a shorter time of observation. The probability of a 1 Mt impact was estimated by extrapolation of the observational data.  相似文献
