We report new Zr isotope evidence for live (92)Nb (mean life: tau&d1;92Nb=52 Myr) within the early solar system resulting in &parl0;92Nb&solm0;93Nb&parr0;initial approximately 10-3. The meteoritic minerals rutile and zircon have, respectively, very high and very low Nb/Zr ratios and are ideal for exploring the (92)Nb-(92)Zr chronometer. Rutiles exhibit high positive straightepsilon92Zr ( approximately 14-36) while a zircon has a negative straightepsilon92Zr ( approximately -4), as would be expected if (92)Nb was live in the early solar system. The meteoritic rutiles appear to be young, with apparent times of formation of approximately 80-220 Myr subsequent to the origin of the solar system. The initial (92)Nb/(92)Mo for the solar system is broadly compatible with a model of uniform production if the (92)Nb/(92)Mo production ratio for Type II supernova (SNII) sources with neutrino-driven winds is used. Data for all the now extinct p-process nuclides ((92)Nb, (97)Tc, and (146)Sm) are consistent with these isotopes being derived by uniform production from SNII sources and a free decay interval of approximately 10 Myr. Consideration of a range of models indicates that the average p-process production ratio of (92)Nb/(92)Mo needs to be at least in the range of 0.06-0.25.  相似文献

Sm-Nd data for the Archean granulite and amphibolite facies migmatites of Langøy and Hinnøy in Vesterålen are presented which indicate that their protoliths formed ~2.6 AE ago. Rubidium and U loss during a granulite facies metamorphism at ~1.8 AE caused serious disturbance of total-rock U-Pb and Rb-Sr systems. Therefore these systems do not provide any precise age information for the granulite facies migmatites. For the amphibolite facies migmatites of Vesterålen both SmNd, RbSr and PbPb total-rock systems give model ages of ~2.6 AE. The results on both granulite and amphibolite facies rocks are thus in agreement. Previous interpretations based on PbPb data, which indicated an age of 3.41 AE for the Archean terrane of Vesterålen, are not valid.One SmNd model age from the granulite facies migmatites at Moskenesøy in Lofoten indicates that the protoliths of these migmatites formed ~2.0 AE ago and are thus not related to the Vesterålen migmatites.  相似文献

The143Nd/144Nd and147Sm/144Nd ratios have been measured in five chondrites and the Juvinas achondrite. The range in143Nd/144Nd for the analyzed meteorite samples is 5.3 ε-units (0.511673–0.511944) normalized to150Nd/142Nd= 0.2096. This is correlated with the variation of 4.2% in147Sm/144Nd (0.1920–0.2000). Much of this spread is due to small-scale heterogeneities in the chondrites and does not appear to reflect the large-scale volumetric averages. It is shown that none of the samples deviate more than 0.5 ε-units from a 4.6-AE reference isochron and define an initial143Nd/144Nd ratio at 4.6 AE of0.505828 ± 9. Insofar as there is a range of values of147Sm/144Nd there is no unique way of picking solar or average chondritic values. From these data we have selected a new set of self-consistent present-day reference values for CHUR (“chondritic uniform reservoir”) of (143Nd/144Nd)CHUR0 = 0.511836and(147Sm/144Nd)CHUR0 = 0.1967. The new147Sm/144Nd value is 1.6% higher than the previous value assigned to CHUR using the Juvinas data of Lugmair. This will cause a small but significant change in the CHUR evolution curve. Some terrestrial samples of Archean age show clear deviations from the new CHUR curve. If the CHUR curve is representative of undifferentiated mantle then it demonstrates that depleted sources were also tapped early in the Archean. Such a depleted layer may represent the early evolution of the source of present-day mid-ocean ridge basalts. There exists a variety of discrepancies with most earlier meteorite data which includes determination of all Nd isotopes and Sm/Nd ratios. These discrepancies require clarification in order to permit reliable interlaboratory comparisons. The new CHUR curve implies substantial changes in model ages for lunar rocks and thus also in the interpretation of early lunar chronology.  相似文献

Following the author's previous paper on the broad outline of the Geology of the Mangula Copper Deposits (Jacobsen, in print), a few of the more complex problems of mineralisation are discussed. Introduction of iron, manifested by widespread, often structurally controlled martitisation, is shown to be likely. Origin of copper and iron bearing veins by lateral secretion is rejected. General silicification, potassium and boron metasomatism and intense chloritisation at Norah Mine in particular are interpreted as further proof of hydrothermal activity emanating from intruding granites. Close relationship of the mineralogical phenomena to those described recently byDarnley (1960) andVaes (1960) from Northern Rhodesia and Katanga leads to a discussion of genetic theories on the Northern Rhodesia copper deposits. Their classifications into one regional metallo-genetic epoch and province during the late algonkian Katanga-Lomagundi orogeny is proposed. Hydrothermal origin in the wake of syn-or postkinematic granite intrusions under hypothermal or even granitising conditions is accepted for all deposits within the Katanga-Lomagundi geosyncline.
Zusammenfassung Im Anschluß an eine frühere Arbeit des Autors über die Geologie der Kupferlagerstätte von Mangula (Jacobsen, im Druck) werden hier ein paar Probleme der Mineralisation angeschnitten. Auf Grund von weitverbreiteter, strukturgebundener Martitisierung wird Eisenimprägnation für wahrscheinlich gehalten.Die allgemeine Einkieselung, die Kalium und Bor Metasomatose und die intensive Chloritisierung in der Norah-Grube deuten auf hydrothermale Aktivität intradierender Granite hin.Auf Grund ähnlicher mineralogischer Verhältnisse, wie sie kürzlichDarnley (1960) undVaes (1960) aus Nordrhodesien und Katanga beschrieben haben, werden Theorien zur Genese der Kupferlagerstätten Nordrhodesiens diskutiert. Der Autor schlägt ihre Zuordnung zu einer regionalen, metallgenetischen Epoche und Provinz während der spätalgonkischen Katanga-Lomagundi-Gebirgsbildung vor. Unter hypothermalen oder granitisierenden Bedingungen wird für alle Ablagerungen innerhalb der Katanga-Lomagundi-Geosynklinale hydrothermale Entstehung infolge von syn- oder postkinematischen Granitintrusionen angenommen.

Résumé Venant après une note antérieure sur l'allure générale de la Géologie des dépôts de cuivre du Mangula (Jacobsen, en presse), l'auteur discute ici quelques problèmes plus complexes de la minéralisation. L'introduction de fer, exprimée par la martitisation bien répandue et souvent conditionnée par la structure, semble être vraisemblable. L'origine par secrétion latérale de veines chargées de cuivre et de fer est rejetée. La silicification générale, le métasomatisme avec apport de potassium et bore et la chloritisation intense à Norah Mine en particulier, sont interprétés comme une preuve supplémentaire en faveur d'une activité hydrothermale émanant de granites intrusifs. Des relations étroites des phénomènes minéralogiques avec ceux décrits récemment parDarnley (1960) etVaes (1960) en Rhodésie du Nord et au Katanga conduisent à discuter les théories génétiques des dépôts de cuivre de Rhodésie du Nord. L'auteur propose de les classer dans une seule époque et province métallogénique datant de la fin de l'orogenèse algonkienne du Katanga-Lomagundi. Il admet pour tous les dépôts du géosynclinal du Katanga-Lomagundi une origine hydrothermale à la suite d'intrusions de granites syn-ou postcinématiques dans des conditions hypothermales ou même granitisantes.

Glaciostratigraphic investigations at one key locality (Haldum), 9 major and about 160 minor localities in East and Central Jutland, Denmark, together with laboratory work, have led to the establishment of a stratigraphy consisting of 10 till units, usually separated by meltwater deposits. The stratigraphy is in some degree supported by thermoluminescence datings. The complete sequence includes one till unit with associated meltwater deposits of Menapian age, three till units with intercalated meltwater deposits of Elsterian age, marine sediments deposited during the Holsteininan, and three till units with intercalated of Elsterian age, marine sediments deposited during the Holsteinian, and three till units with intercalated glaciofluvial sedimants of Saalian age. Eemian deposits are present above this level, and the whole sequence is capped by till and meltwater deposits related to three glacial advances during the Weichselian.  相似文献

We report Si isotopic data on a suite of terrestrial mantle-derived samples, meteorites and a lunar sample. Our data on co-existing mantle minerals, peridotites and basalts demonstrate lack of any resolvable high temperature fractionation during igneous processes. We show that the δ30Si of the bulk silicate Earth (BSE) is identical, within analytical uncertainties, to carbonaceous and ordinary chondrites (CHUR). Based on our data the difference between δ30SiBSE and δ30SiCHUR is 0.035 ± 0.035. Whole-rock differentiated meteorites from different parent bodies (Mars, Vesta) and a lunar breccia sample also show similar δ30Si suggesting broad-scale Si isotope homogeneity in the inner Solar System with an average δ29Si = −0.20 ± 0.01 and δ30Si = −0.39 ± 0.02 relative to the NBS28 Si isotope standard.A difference between δ30SiBSE and δ30SiCHUR of 0.035, as observed in our study, translates to less than 1.67 wt.% Si in the core considering a continuous accretion model whereas estimates using a batch model are even lower. Within uncertainties (±0.035‰) in the δ30Si difference between the BSE and CHUR, a maximum of 3.84 wt.% Si could be present in the Earth’s core whereas at δ30SiBSE30SiCHUR = 0, there is no requirement of Si in the Earth’s core. Such low Si in the core necessitates the presence of other light elements in the core to explain its density deficit. Our data also places constraints on the oxidation state of the Earth’s mantle during core segregation. The uncertainties in estimating the concentration of oxidized Fe in the mantle during the first 90% of accretion arise from uncertainties in the estimates of the equilibrium partition coefficient of silicon between metal and silicate at conditions relevant to core formation. For δ30SiBSE30SiCHUR = 0.035 ± 0.035, the concentration of oxidized Fe in the mantle during the first 90% of accretion could be as low as ∼1%. However, at δ30SiBSE30SiCHUR = 0, the Si isotope data do not require any change in the mantle concentration of oxidized Fe during accretion from the present day value of 6.26%.  相似文献

通过砾质戈壁风沙流野外实测数据的分析以及风洞模拟实验研究发现:戈壁风沙流结构具有与沙漠风沙流完全不同的风沙流特征,戈壁风沙地表的粗糙度随风速的增大而增加,其表面风沙流输沙量高度分布表现出独特的"象鼻"效应,在一定高度处呈现最大值,并随风速的增加而增高。该"象鼻"效应导致戈壁风沙流结构特征值λ远大于 1,不论风速多大,风沙流都处于未饱和状态的非堆积搬运状态。这种特殊性质比较清楚地解释了敦煌莫高窟千年来不被沙山埋没的谜底。并且在风沙防治工程实践中,采用砾石压沙措施,构造类似与砾质戈壁的下垫面,人工促使风沙流结构呈现"象鼻"形状,可使防沙工程达到理想的输导作用。  相似文献

Abstract— During preliminary examination of 81P/Wild 2 particles collected by the NASA Stardust spacecraft, we analyzed seven, sulfur embedded and ultramicrotomed particles extracted from five different tracks. Sections were analyzed using a scanning transmission X‐ray microscope (SXTM) and carbon X‐ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra were collected. We compared the carbon XANES spectra of these Wild 2 samples with a database of spectra on thirty‐four interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) and with several meteorites. Two of the particles analyzed are iron sulfides and there is evidence that an aliphatic compound associated with these particles can survive high temperatures. An iron sulfide from an IDP demonstrates the same phenomenon. Another, mostly carbon free containing particle radiation damaged, something we have not observed in any IDPs we have analyzed or any indigenous organic matter from the carbonaceous meteorites, Tagish Lake, Orgueil, Bells and Murchison. The carbonaceous material associated with this particle showed no mass loss during the initial analysis but chemically changed over a period of two months. The carbon XANES spectra of the other four particles varied more than spectra from IDPs and indigenous organic matter from meteorites. Comparison of the carbon XANES spectra from these particles with 1. the carbon XANES spectra from thirty‐four IDPs (<15 micron in size) and 2. the carbon XANES spectra from carbonaceous material from the Tagish Lake, Orgueil, Bells, and Murchison meteorites show that 81P/Wild 2 carbon XANES spectra are more similar to IDP carbon XANES spectra then to the carbon XANES spectra of meteorites.  相似文献

Late Holocene environmental changes were examined in Dee Why Lagoon, New South Wales, based on the sedimentological, geochemical and geochronological analysis of six cores collected from the fluvial delta and lagoon basin. The lagoon formed about 7300–7200?cal yr BP, following the post-glacial marine transgression and establishment of a sand barrier. Infilling of the lagoon occurred at a rate of 0.09–0.15?mm/yr until about 3300–3200?cal yr BP, when the barrier closed, resulting in mostly freshwater conditions, as evidenced by a change from pyrite-rich units to sediment containing little sulfur and a lack of foraminifera. Sedimentation rates increased to 0.23 then 0.43?mm/yr until about 100?years ago. Post-European land clearance led to an increase in sedimentation rates to 1.0–1.3?mm/yr on the fluvial delta, which are lower than those from other wave-dominated estuaries in New South Wales as well as those estimated by previous studies in Dee Why Lagoon. Our study shows that the fluvial delta started forming much earlier than originally thought, based on results of radiometric dating, and confirmed using sedimentological and geochemical data, as well as a critical examination of historic aerial photographs. Human impact has resulted in an increase in heavy metal (Cu, Pb, Zn) and metalloid (As) concentrations in the recent sediment, most likely attributed to stormwater discharge. Pb and As concentrations are above the ANZECC high sediment quality guideline values at the site closest to the stormwater outlet, with As-based pesticides one of the possible sources. Using the mean enrichment quotient, which is based on normalised Cu, Pb and Zn concentrations over their normalised background concentrations, we show that the surface sediments in Dee Why Lagoon are severely enriched, reflecting the recent anthropogenic impact that has also led to an increase in sedimentation rates.  相似文献

研究天然盐泉的形成有助于揭示陆地水文循环过程中的物质迁移。采用水文地球化学的方法,分析四川省盐源县的9个泉水和卤水水样的水化学特征和同位素特征,探讨盐泉的溶质来源,总结盐泉的成因模式。水样可以分为TDS为311.69 g/L的Cl-Na型卤水、TDS为55.77~89.43 g/L的Cl-Na型盐泉、TDS为1.17 g/L的Cl-Na型微咸泉和TDS为0.26~0.56 g/L的以HCO3-Ca、HCO3·SO4-Ca·Mg型为主的淡水泉。泉水和卤水的氢氧同位素显示其来源于大气降水;水样的特征系数显示盐泉和卤水都属于溶滤型,且指示研究区基本不具有找钾前景。泉水的盐分主要来源于石盐、方解石、石膏和白云石等矿物的溶滤。盐泉的形成模式可以概括为:在山区获得大气降水入渗补给后,地下水经历较浅和较深的地下径流并且溶滤含盐地层或者盐矿,使其矿化度升高,在地形较低处汇集出露地表成泉。  相似文献
