We developed a code for the reconstruction of nonlinear force-free and non-force-free coronal magnetic fields. The 3D magnetic field is computed numerically with the help of an optimization principle. The force-free and non-force-free codes are compiled in one program. The force-free approach needs photospheric vector magnetograms as input. The non-force-free code additionally requires the line-of-sight integrated coronal density distribution in combination with a tomographic inversion code. Previously the optimization approach has been used to compute magnetic fields using all six boundaries of a computational box. Here we extend this method and show how the coronal magnetic field can be reconstructed only from the bottom boundary, where the boundary conditions are measured with vector magnetographs. The program is planed for use within the Stereo mission.  相似文献

The tilt-angle variation of solar bipolar magnetic regions (BMRs) in space and time is a probable indicator of large-scale properties of magnetic field distribution, the dynamo and other different processes affecting the rising of magnetic flux tubes. We analyze the tilt-angle distribution and evolution of clearly oriented BMRs using sunspot position and area measurements from the Greenwich Photo-Heliographic Results (GPHR) supplemented by high-quality full-disk sunspot drawings made in the Haynald Observatory in Hungary. Our work is made on the basis of the 14th sunspot cycle and we compare our results with present theories of magnetic flux evolution in the convective zone. Our results support the assumption that the scatter of tilt angles of BMRs around Joy`s law is determined by the convective turbulence. Furthermore, we find that regular BMRs grouped by age generally do not show the phenomenon of toroidal relaxation towards the east–west direction. We interpret this by the disconnection of -loops from the bottom of the convection zone.  相似文献

The dynamics of two planets near a first-order mean-motion resonance is modeled in the domain of the general three-body planar problem. The system studied is the pair Uranus-Neptune (2/1 resonance). The phase space of the resonance and near-resonance regions is studied by means of surfaces of section and spectral analysis techniques. After a thorough investigation of the topology of the phase space, we find that several regimes of motion are possible for the Uranus-Neptune system, and the regions of transition between the regimes of motion are the seats of chaotic motion. Abstract— Lunar meteorite Dar al Gani 262 (DG 262)—found in the Libyan part of the Sahara—is a mature, anorthositic regolith breccia with highland affinities. The origin from the Moon is undoubtedly indicated by its bulk chemical composition; radionuclide concentrations; noble gas, N, and O isotopic compositions; and petrographic features. Dar al Gani 262 is a typical anorthositic highland breccia similar in mineralogy and chemical composition to Queen Alexandra Range (QUE) 93069. About 52 vol% of the studied thin sections of Dar al Gani 262 consist of fine-grained(100 μm) constituents, and 48 vol% is mineral and lithic clasts and impact-melt veins. The most abundant clast types are feldspathic fine-grained to microporphyritic crystalline melt breccias (50.2 vol%; includes recrystallized melt breccias), whereas mafic crystalline melt breccias are extremely rare (1.4 vol%). Granulitic lithologies are 12.8 vol%, intragranularly recrystallized anorthosites and cataclastic anorthosites are 8.8 and 8.2 vol%, respectively, and (devitrified) glasses are 2.7 vol%. Impact-melt veins (5.5 vol% of the whole thin sections) cutting across the entire thin section were probably formed subsequent to the lithification process of the bulk rock at pressures below 20 GPa, because the bulk rock never experienced a higher peak shock pressure. Mafic crystalline melt breccias are very rare in Dar al Gani 262 and are similar in abundance to those in QUE 93069. The extremely low abundance of mafic components and the bulk composition may constrain possible areas of the Moon from which the breccia was derived. The source area of Dar al Gani 262 must be a highland terrain lacking significant mafic impact melts or mare components. On the basis of radionuclide activities, an irradiation position of DG 262 on the Moon at a depth of 55–85 g/cm3and a maximum transit time to Earth <0.15 Ma is suggested. Dar al Gani 262 contains high concentrations of solar-wind-implanted noble gases. The isotopic abundance ratio 40Ar/36Ar < 3 is characteristic of lunar soils. The terrestrial weathering of DG 262 is reflected by the occurrence of fractures filled with calcite and by high concentrations of Ca, Ba, Cs, Br, and As. There is also a large amount of terrestrial C and some N in the sample, which was released at low temperatures during stepped heating. High concentrations of Ni, Co, and Ir indicate a significant meteoritic component in the lunar surface regolith from which DG 262 was derived.  相似文献

Abstract— Olivine in the angritic meteorite Lewis Cliff (LEW) 86010 contains abundant exsolution lamellae of kirschsteinite. Compositional gradients adjacent to the interface in both host and lamellae were formed by diffusion of chemical components into and out of the lamellae during cooling and growth. We have compared these gradients with compositional profiles calculated from diffusion and heat flow equations to estimate the cooling rate and burial depth of the sample. The resulting values for cooling rate and burial depth depend on which values are used for the diffusion rate of Ca in olivine, and how measured diffusivities are extrapolated to the lower temperatures at which the lamellae grew. If the highest diffusion coefficients are used, the cooling rates obtained from seven different lamellae range from 30 to 52 °C/year, with an average of 42 °C/year, and burial depths (assuming an overburden with a thermal diffusivity typical of solid rock) range from 14 to 17 m, with an average of 15 m. If the lowest reasonable diffusion coefficients are used, the cooling rates range from 1.4 to 2.2 °C/year, with an average of 1.7 °C/year, and the depths range from 68 to 83 m, with an average of 75 m. For the highest Ca diffusivities, details of the compositional profiles near the olivine/kirschsteinite interface suggest that continuous cooling was greatly accelerated at a temperature near 600–700 °C. The simplest physical explanation for such an acceleration is excavation of the sample from its original burial depth by an impact event. If Ca diffusivities are lower, a two-stage cooling history is not required.  相似文献

This article describes a data collection approach for determining the significance of individual heat fluxes within streams with an emphasis on testing (i.e. identification of possible missing heat fluxes), development, calibration and corroboration of a dynamic temperature model. The basis for developing this approach was a preliminary temperature modelling effort on the Virgin River in southwestern Utah during a low‐flow period that suggested important components of the energy balance might be missing in the original standard surface‐flux temperature model. Possible missing heat fluxes were identified as bed conduction, hyporheic exchange, dead zone warming and exchange and poor representation of the amount of solar radiation entering the water column. To identify and estimate the relative importance of the missing components, a comprehensive data collection effort was developed and implemented. In particular, a method for measuring shortwave radiation behaviour in the water column and an in situ method for separating out bed conduction and hyporheic influences were established. The resulting data and subsequent modelling effort indicate that hyporheic and dead zone heat fluxes are important, whereas solar radiation reflection at the water surface was found to be insignificant. Although bed conduction can be significant in certain rivers, it was found to have little effect on the overall heat budget for this section of the Virgin River. The harmful cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii is a widespread species increasingly being recorded in freshwater systems around the world. Studies have demonstrated some key attributes of this species which may explain its global dominance. It has a high level of flexibility with respect to light and nutrients, being capable of growth under low and variable light conditions. However, it is the strategy with respect to nutrient utilization that has received more attention. Unlike many bloom forming species, the dominance of this species is not simply linked to higher nutrient loads. In fact it appears that it is more competitive when phosphorus and nitrogen availability is low and/or variable. An important component of this flexibility appears to be the result of within-population strain variability in responses to nutrients, as well as key physiological adaptations. Strain variability also appears to have an effect on the population-level cell quota of toxins, specifically cylindrospermopsins(CYNs). Field studies in Australia showed that populations had the highest proportion of toxic strains when dissolved inorganic phosphorus was added, resulting in stoichiometrically balanced nitrogen and phosphorus within the cells. These strategies are part of an arsenal of responses to environmental conditions, making it a challenging species to manage. However, our ability to improve bloom prediction will rely on a more detailed understanding of the complex physiology and ecology of this species.  相似文献
